I absolutely love this set! The coat and hat are a beautiful blue and made of really heavy, nice cotton material. The coat is very similar to a trench coat in material and style. The buttons are actual buttons (no velcro!) I've found that the buttons are kind of hard to get buttoned if the doll has an outfit underneath the coat, but not so difficult if she's naked underneath. The top button is very hard to get buttoned on the doll regardless though, but it doesn't bother me because I wouldn't button all the way up anyway. I just wanted to let others know. It's not that the button holes are too small, they are actually perfect size. The problem is more because of the style of the coat. It's difficult to get fingers around the buttons to get them done up. The only part of the set that I do not like is the belt that goes around the coat. I feel like it needs another loop to keep it from hanging awkwardly from the doll's middle. Also, the end of the belt has begun to fray already from putting it through the little (plastic) buckle on the front. The boots are AMAZING! They are made of rubber (latex/rubber allergies beware) that's fairly thick. I don't think they will tear, but parents should take care in showing kids how to put them on the first time. There is a little side buckle that could tear if pulled on roughly. The boots also have a white fabric lining, so there won't be any green dolly legs or feet!

The raincoat LOOKS good but it's way too skimpy & tight. What good is a coat if you can't wear anything under it? So, I'm sending mine back even though I really like the rubber boots. Maybe I can get them as a replacement. boots A+ raincoat C-
I just tried this on an Ivy today and was really surprised at how short the coat is! She was wearing the PWP vacation outfit, which has very short shorts, and this coat wasn't much longer than the shorts are. I agree with Aaryana's comments about the buttonholes. Nice that they're real but there's no way that top button will ever go over far enough to be buttoned. And yes, it was possible to put the coat on over shorts and a sleeveless tshirt, but probably not over anything with sleeves or any fullness to it. The boots are nicely waterproof, but the coat is not.
I think because of the skimpiness overall and the coat being just plain cotton (though a nice weight) I would give this a B+.
I wanted this as soon as I saw it, and it's even cuter in person! I just love it.
Trench - Gorgeous shade of blue, sort of in the aqua family. My top button buttoned easily. I first tried putting it on over the blouse from the Starflower outfit. It fit, but the sleeves were all bunched up underneath and I didn't feel like unbunching them so I just took the blouse off. I think you could easily put a short-sleeve or sleeveless shirt underneath. The length is just about the same as the Starflower skirt, perfect in my opinion. I have three issues with the trench: 1) The belt is sewn down in the back, which is a great idea so kids won't lose it, but it means that if you cinch it at the waist, like a real trench, the buckle is way off-center. Also, it could use more belt loops, and the back seems a little plain. 2) It seems a little sophisticated for a child. When I was around 8-10, my peak AG years, I mostly wore waterproof windbreakers or a rubbery yellow raincoat (like Molly's) in the rain. I don't think I had a trench coat until I was in college. The color makes it young, but the classic styling seems very grown-up. 3) Why don't they make it in my size???
Hat - Adorable. Not much more to say.
Boots - When I went to put them on, I kept looking for velcro. There is none. The little bluckles actually work, how cute is that?! The popped on very easily. I don't like green, but these work beautifully with the coat.
Overall - A++. I just love this outfit. So perfect for how much it's been raining so far this March.
I see a lot of people had trouble with the length of the coat and the to button. I got mine in the mail today and it was perfect in those two areas as well the coat was looser so I could fit a regular dress or shirt under it. the boots and hat are very cute. I give it an A+!!!
here is it fully buttoned
it really brings out the blue of my #3's eyes!

My albums My Dolls: Katelynn (AGoT#3), Marisol, Elizabeth, Felicity, Julie and Eloise (MyAG #26)
My daughter got this outfit for Easter and it is very pretty. The boots are the best part - love them. The coat itself fits very snuggly. On her pudgy Lanie, I don't think it would fit over anything but a think dress or t-shirt. It hasn't yet been tried on her trimmer JLY39.
I had trouble attempting the top button in the morning, but either I became more adept after coffee or the fabric stretched slightly on the doll, because I can now close it (barely). I don't think she'd ever do the top button up though; she doesn't like the way it looks all 'chokey' and it's frankly tricky to manage that tiny button up there under the chin (even for me). With the top button undone, it's not an issue at all.
The hat will do great double duty as a summer bucket hat. The blue and green match many of this year fashions (the surf wear I'll get her later this year) and the PWP Spring set, so there's lots of mix and match potential.

I just got this and love it! I don't have anything new to add other than to echo what others said about the buttons being difficult to do, although I thought it was a nice touch to put real buttons. I was thinking the whole time "how are little girls supposed to do this??"
Regardless it's an adorable outfit and Mia liked it so much that she had to try it on even though it's a sunny day here in NY today

I love this set! We get more rain than snow out here, and it fits Melanie perfectly. You can hardly tell she's not wearing pants! Boots: A++ (cutest things ever!!) Hat: A (adorable but messes up her hair) Coat: A- (very hard to button up)

I was honestly really impressed with this set for the Spotlight price of $24. The coat is made of a nice thick, although not waterproof, material and it looks a great deal like ones I have seen on recent TV shows (OK on adults, but it is at least trendy somewhere). The belt is a bit irritating with the off-centre buckle and the hanging end. With the coat over an outfit (AGP Logo Jeans & Puff-Sleeved Tee) I could get the first two buttons fastened but not the bottom one, over nothing they all button fine. The boots are rubber (and smell it) lined in a white fabric, over bare feet they are a bit tricky to get on and off, but they fit well. I haven't tried them over socks because I had enough trouble with them on bare feet, but I think the lining will protect the doll's foot fine. I also didn't try putting the boots on over full length jeans, it just seemed like it wouldn't end well. The hat is the same material as the coat, well made, and it looks good on a doll. I didn't bother to open the charm so I can't give an opinion on it. I'm not sure I would have been quite as happy with the set at the regular price, but at $24 I am very pleased. A Here it is on Elizabeth (ignore the stacked box backdrop if possible). The dog's leash is a surprisingly good colour match for the coat.

Alex and Ella have these thanks to Robin who was kind enough to shop for me while she was at AGPNY earlier this year.
I love this set and so do my dolls! The raincoats and hats are nicely made from sturdy, quality fabric and look very smart. It's true that the off-centre buckle when the belts are done up is a bit annoying but I can live with that.
The boots are simply awesome even if it was rather hard to get them on over the jeans! In the end I compromised: the jeans are pushed up and just the ends are tucked in. It works.
If I have one criticism it would be that the coats could be just a little roomier (as here, only 'flashers' wear raincoats with nothing underneath LOL). But, I did just manage to get the buttons done up over the girls' T shirts (one long sleeved and one short) and jeans. I'm glad that the coats really do fasten with the buttons, too as opposed to velcro fastening and buttons just for show.
I'd rate these an A. Would have been A+ if the coats weren't rather tight and the belts weren't fixed but I'm thrilled with them nevertheless.

We just recieved the and wow tight tight tight! The belt is so off center it looks odd! The hat is so small that it wont fit the dolls head! The boots are ok once you get the knack of putting them on. I think it is such a cute set but I must of received a dud! Raincoat: F Hat: F Boots: B+
I had read all the reviews, and was prepared for this to be a difficult outfit. AG must have made some improvements or something. I put the coat over the shorts from the Outdoor Play outfit and an LJ tee. The coat fit easily, and all the buttons buttoned right up. Even the top button. The boots took a bit of pulling, just like real ones.

I really dislike this set! There is no way that my daughter can mangage it by herself. It looks cute, but this set is not for children. the tiny buttons are impossible to manage and the boots... well I thought that I was going to rip them trying to get them on. I figured getting them off would be easy--well guess what? It's not. My daugher could not take them off! It is short and #57 looks like a stuffed sausage in this coat. I'm only glad that we bought it during Cyber Monday otherwise I would be really ticked! It is more like a trench coat instead of a raincoat. It is not rubbery (other than the boots) like Molly's slick. The hat is cute and fits great. Boots - D Coat - C Hat - A

I got mine for Christmas in 2010. Was I supposed to get a book?
Hat: A+ I think it's very nice and easily pops back to its original position even after being stored in the original box for several months. It doesn't tear easily and the material is thick.
Boots: A- I give it the letter grade of A- because it's a struggle to put them on and the buckles are sort of hard to fasten as well. The buckles are attached with some string, but unless you're being rough and abusive to the doll and doll clothing, then it'll stay attached well. Despite them being hard to put on, they look amazing once on (I wouldn't recommend jeans though, just because I'm too lazy to try to shove them inside the boots ).
Coat: A+ Very nice quality. Sure, the buttons may be a little hard to fit through the holes, but they stay fastened. The belt is also wonderful. This coat can easily go over a shirt, be it long-sleeved or short-sleeved. The fabric is higher quality than the 2010 MAG meet shirt, which is the only other AG top fabric I can compare it to.
All in all, I wouldn't recommend this set for ages 7 and younger, because like AG originally intended, 18" dolls and doll clothing is for 8 and up. A+

Wow, I never reviewed this?
Better late than never, I suppose! I purchased this on Cyber Monday last year for $15, I believe. To be honest, I would have paid full price for this set if I'd had to because I love it so much! The raincoat is simply adorable, and very trendy. I love the colors and the fit, as well. The hat is too cute! It fits pretty well, too. The boots were somewhat difficult to get on at first, but with a little lot of wrestling and wiggling, they slid right on, and now they're much easier to put on. Overall Grade: A+
Oh, BTW- this set looks awesome paired with the leggings from Kanani's pajamas (as seen in my third picture)!
