* This outfit was worn by Samantha in the short story "Samantha’s Special Talent." *
This is my *favorite* of Sam's dresses. I love that it's copied from one at the museum, and I love how detailed, and different it is.
The Good: We know it's 100% historically accurate. Big plus! It's a very pretty color, it's pink, but a more dusty coraly color than her normal rosey pink. Looks great on both Sam and Nellie. Hair ribbon is nice, and matches other outfits well, too. The lacey details are so pretty. Matches her Meet shoes, and I think it looks SO cute with her Summer button up boots.
The Bad: None, imo.
Rating: *****, A++
(The ribbon in this picture is not the one that comes with this outfit, it's either Elizabeth or Lissie's Meet Ribbon. The smaller ones just look better on Nellie, and it's the same color as the one that does come with the outfit).

The dress can be worn with either her Meet hat or her Bird-Watching hat. It also works with her Party Shoes and Socks. Finally something somewhat versatile!

I LOVE Samantha's talent show dress! It's one of my favorites. This might sound silly, but I am so impressed by the new velcro AG is using. No more snagging dolly's hair! I have a somewhat thicker bodied PM Samantha, so I kind of have to wiggle and squeeze her into the outfit, but she's precious. She's wearing it right now! I like it because it really could look good for any season. A few years ago, I was given a large framed print (about 100 years old) of a dark brown-haired young woman leading a calf. The dress in the scene is so similar in both color and style. If I didn't know better, I'd think it was an older Sam, with a straw hat, with a pet cow!!!

Okay...I took a picture of the picture I mentioned the other day. I don't know why Sam's dress looks so washed out (prob. the flash), but in reality, the print and Sam's dress are the same color. Couldn't these two be sisters???

Count me as another big fan of this dress. I especially like that the ribbon is big enough to hold all of her hair. The dress' color really flatters Sam's complexion. And it has lasted well. A+

I bought this but I'm not a big fan of it! I didn't like the fabric and the way it looked on the doll. Hmm...I guess I would just give it a B-.

I love this dress! I love that it's a replica of a real dress. There's not much else to say about it, other than it's probably my most favorite Samantha outfit. Grade: A+++

One of my favorites! Even though I don't really like material, I still love it!

I don't really like the material (duponi silk) but I like the style of the dress and especially the fact that it is based on a real dress. The color is not too pink, it's more of a dusky rose pink. The lace is off white. As others have noted, it is difficult to squeeze into this dress. Early Samantha dresses had two sections of velcro with a snap at the waist. This dress has one section velcro only. My white bodied Samantha's hips and head are a bit too big to make the dress fit easily so she's only worn it once. She passed it on to her friend Ruth instead. Grade: A

I love this dress - it is one of my top favorite of Sam's dresses. I love the color(s) and it looks so historical! It fits my 2003 Kirsten, 2005 Samantha, and 2006 Nellie wonderfully!

I;m not a pink person, but Samantha simply had to have this dress because of how good she looks in it. It contrasts nicely with her dark hair and eyes and brings out the light pink in her lips and cheeks. A+!

This is my favorite Samantha dress. A little too lacy for Rebecca, but I couldn't resist adding it to her collection:

I finally found this much-sought-after dress for a decent price on eBay. No wonder everyone says it's one of Samantha's best. It looks absolutely gorgeous on her, and is historically accurate to boot. Interestingly, I had no problems getting it on my PM Samantha. The lot didn't come with the ribbon, but I have plenty of ribbons that would work with it anyway. If you have Samantha, Nellie, or an Edwardian-era character and can find this dress for an affordable price, grab it. It's very worth it.
