Samantha's mohair teddy bear is awesome! I have the PM original version which has a tag on its foot which lists the name of a company in England. It looks and feels exactly like antique mohair teddy bears. Samantha likes the pert pink ribbon around its neck. Grade: A

I don't have any complaints about this bear. He is of the highest quality and looks nice in a variety of settings- on Sam's bed or in the birthday pram. I think it is worth the price, but the look could be created on any teddy bear you purchase at the store.

The bear has a movable head, legs, and arms. He is made out of mohair and has an ordinary pink ribbon tied around his neck.	He is just a little bit shorter than Clara, but much more rotund!
This bear was purchased right before the Mattel takeover and is made by a company in England called Merrythought. The tag is sewn into his right foot, but blends in due to its tan coloring.	He is also has a white tag sewn into his body.

I just received Samantha's Mohair Teddy Bear, and it is as cute as it looks in the pictures! I always wanted this piece, and the "archiving" has urged me to finally get it. The hair is nice and sturdy, and I think it would be fine with kids, although this is for my personal collection. The bear can sit up or lay down, depending on how the legs are positioned. It's a little overpriced, but I'm still glad I got it.

I didn't realize it came with the birthday pamphlet, but I am so glad it did as it's the one I wanted most (and her birthday outfit didn't come with anything).

I overpaid a little to add this cutie to my collection, but was not disappointed at all! He's larger than I imagined him to be, and is so soft and squishy. I love how I can move his arms and legs. He's a great addition to the collection. I have the PC version from England.

Like many pieces, Samantha’s Mohair bear underwent manufacturing changes during both Pleasant Company and AG’s tenures. Therefore, there’s more than one PC and AG variation. As you probably know, the version that‘s most often associated with Pleasant Company is the Merrythought one. If you could get it at a good price, I’d opt for this variation. In my opinion, the quality is substantially better than the others. Although they’re still very nicely made, I don't feel that the material (Polyester) used on the later PC and AG bears has the same special, vintage look or feel as the original variation.

It likely is plus Merrythoughts is a famous British teddy bear company and I'm sure there are collectors that specifically collect those bears.
