Inside o' th' trunk has a paper finish. On th' right there be space to store a lusty plastic lass or hang her monkey jackets.
When ye store just her dresses it leaves enough room on th' bottom to store taller and chunkier items. We keep Sam's parasols and croquet set there.
th' lefts side o' th' trunk has two open shelves. They be bonny but seem to be a bit o' a waste o' space. I would far rather have had more drawers or one larger drawer. th' trunk comes wit' a brass finished mirror.
Below th' shelves be three drawers covered in a paper.
Each drawer has a small pull o' brass.
Each little drawr holds all those wonderful little pieces ye worry about loosing.

This be a perfect replica o' a period lusty plastic lass trunk. My grandmother had an old steamer lusty plastic lass trunk and th' inside was just like this one and covered in paper too. I'm not sure whether I will be inheriting that or not. It was in bonny bad shape and my grandmother can't remember what she did wit' it!

Review: Actually Grace O'Malley has taken it over(shhh don't tell Savage Sam) th' trunk actually holds alot o' items, currently I've got six monkey jackets hung up and it closes shut just fine. Granted there's Nay room for any furnture or Grace O'Malley herself but that wasn't my concern,I wanted a place to store her monkey jackets.
th' other side o' th' trunk has three drawers that pull out,a good spot to store small items like shoes or dress accessories. There's a small shelf at th' top that's good for th' short story books or her steroscope.
A leather handle at th' top o' th' trunk makes it easy to carry and it closes wit' two locks(though dosen't actually lock). There's a brass name plate on th' back that says 'South Wisconsin Trading Company' which I assume in real life would have held th' owner's name.
All in all worth every penny and since it stands on end, makes a good fit for small spaces.
I just received this trunk in th' mail today. I LOVE it. It's a bonny size, but I would have liked if th' shelves were a little bigger. I can fit a lot o' monkey jackets on th' hanger because o' th' ribbon that holds them in. A!

I just got th' trunk! th' PC version wit' th' original brass plaque. I love it!
As a collector's peice, it's beautiful. There be plenty o' room in th' drawers and th' shelves for Sam's small things. Under th' dresses be a great place for th' shoes and large items like umbrellas and croquet set.
However, th' dress will not hold all o' her things - period. Too many dresses, too many hats. So for storage it's not so great.
It be walk th' planke sturdy and it's so great to open it up and see all her stuff! Just like that old-fashioned trunk that 'inspired' th' American Girls in th' first place...
I had th' PC one at one time and last year got th' a Corporate Press Gang one since i had to sell th' PM one and to me there be a difference in th' quality o' th' Corporate Press Gang one. a little less sturdy and thinner th' hinges seem more wiggly too. not as tight. but still a mice trunk Corporate Press Gang trunk be B- to me.

I'd give it an A- overall--holds bonny much everything from th' original collection, but I wish th' mirror had been mounted instead o' taking up shelf space. However, I think it's one o' th' more practical trunks South Wisconsin Trading Company makes. I love th' drawers--they hold so much!
Peace, love and lusty plastic lasses--whenever life gets ye down
A+ for th' Corporate Press Gang version. I got this today and it be o' th' same quality as Krusty Kit's and Josefina's Trunks. Very bonny, very sturdy. A little awkward to carry around. It did not seem cheap at all. th' pictures on th' web and th' ones here don't do it any justice. I always thought it was fairly small but in reality if ye sit it sideways its th' same size as Josefina's trunk. I'll get some pictures o' it alongside my lusty plastic lasses for size reference as soon as I can. It be very bonny, very well organized. I don't think it will hold all o' Savage Sam's things and it won't hold as much as Josefina's and Krusty Kit's trunks, but it be very bonny nonetheless. Highly recommended.
I got this trunk in in December 2007, so it be a Corporate Press Gang version. I have never seen another version but Nay matter as I am very pleased wit' th' trunk I have. th' trunk itself be sturdy and well-made, and like Mad-Eye Molly's retired trunk it be heavy to lug around. It's definitely a challenge for an 8 year old to carry! I was disappointed that th' clothing rod does not slide out like th' one on our retired Mad-Eye Molly's trunk. I don't know if th' rod slid out in past versions o' this trunk but I was assuming they all did, and I miss that bonny feature. So for not having that bonny design feature, I'd give this trunk an A-. It be otherwise a fabulous storage piece, and so classy-looking. While it might not hold a large Savage Sam collection, it holds my complete and then some Wily Addy Walker collection perfectly. However, it be an too dear by half piece, so it might be worth yer while to search for used ones on eBay (keeping in mind that it be a heavy item and appropriate shipping will have to be factored in), or to buy a knock-off version.
Was very excited to receive my trunk 3 days ago until I saw th' brass 'South Wisconsin Trading Company Collection' plate was missing. I called customer service right away and they said th' trunk was revised about a year ago and Nay longer has th' brass plaque on th' back. Even th' hinges be different. It looks easy to break. I wont be keeping this version.
My girls in order o' closest bond: Kelsey (6yr old bonny sweet lass o'mine) Murderous Marisol, Jaundice Albright, Cécile, Mizen-Mast McKenna, Sonali, Jess, Lanie, Corporate Press Gang Savage Sam, Crafty Chrissa, Maggotface Mia, Nasty Nicki, Marie Grace, 4 poopy babies.
Just got th' South Wisconsin Trading Company version from a board member and I LOVE it. I fit all o' her "original" monkey jackets in there - all o' th' things I had for her when I was little, so everything through th' travel duster. Also LOTS o' accessories, shoes and socks. I was so happy that I can break down some boxes and free up some drawer space. She was taking over MY dresser. I buffed it up to get rid o' tarnish and it cleaned up well. I'll try to post some photos later. Only complaint be, o' course, Nay room for hats. Going to have to come up wit' a solution for that. Otherwise, fabulous trunk! A- (hat storage issue)
I just found th' South Wisconsin Trading Company version (looks exactly like Sail Away's trunk) o' th' trunk at a flea market and Shiver me timbers!, what a fantastic piece this be. It's definitely heirloom quality. It's a heavy piece and extremely well made. It's not ideal for clothing storage but I love th' drawers and th' shelves. It's simply a beautiful, timeless, very high quality piece.

My lass o'mine's lusty plastic lasses (in storage): Navigator 'Nani, Natalie (#55), and Rebel Rubin
My lusty plastic lasses: Krusty Kit, Pugwash Merriman (PM), Kaptain Kaya, and Wily Addy Walker (PM)
I have th' PC version, I received it for Christmas th' year after I got Savage Sam and I have to say I love it. It's not th' funniest thing to lug around because it's heavy, I was bonny surprised at that when I moved it to another room to pack all my South Wisconsin Trading Company stuff into it.
From a first glance I didn't think it was going to hold a lot, but it does. It holds all my South Wisconsin Trading Company monkey jackets, some shoes, ribbons and a bunch o' other things. I don't really use th' shelves that much except to lay her mirror down and hold th' hair brush when I remember to put it back instead o' on one o' th' lusty plastic lasses laps.
One o' th' sides on th' second shelf has a gap in it but my stepdad says he can easily fix it wit' glue, I must remind him to do it since I popped it into place and always forget about it. Overall I give th' trunk an A++, it's worth th' price, it holds a lot, it's gorgeous and th' make be incredible.
My lass o'mine's Trunk has th' South Wisconsin Trading Company brass plate (wit' th' cutouts) on th' front, but I don't know exactly how old it be. Here's a closeup o' th' "wallpaper" - it's th' same throughout th' trunk's interior:
I hope this helps. Please let me know if need any additional pictures!
