Christmas Music Box $18 SCAC Grade: B Over all it is pretty cute with a few minor things that I feel should be changed. I have a PC version of this music box. I bought it right from AG not more then a year ago and still got a PM version. Pretty cool. I got it on sale which was nice. I am not sure I would go and pay full price. The music box is contained in a book style box. The outside is leather with gilded and embossed lettering on the cover and spine. Inside the cover the book has a gilded finish. And the ribbon page marker is glued in. I was actually surprised to see the set being stitched together. On the title page it has a signature from "Uncle Gard" but it's in the same colour as the writing on the page. Would have been far nicer in black so it looked like a signature not just a print of the book. The main pages of the book have different Christmas carols from the time and even now. I was really surprised not to have seen "O Christmas Tree". the last page of the book is an image: Behind the last pages is the music box. It is actually made of metal and grey plastic. But it's fun to see the moving parts of the tines on the drum. What I really hate is the rough cut finish inside where the music box is contined. It wasn't sanded at all and makes it look really trashy. If other boxes out there aren't like this please let me know and I will send this one back.

The inside of my music box is also not sanded. I never noticed as a little girl. I got mine some time in the 90s. It says "Made in Taiwan especially for PC" on the gold sticker. This thing is absolutely adorable though. It is a working music box with actual sheet music in a form that doesn't break (solid "book"), what more could you ask for? The only thing that has happened to it is the box containing the music box has come unglued from the spine of the "book" but it hasn't affected page turning or music playing, so I don't care, and I'd never sell it anyways (it's way too great a piece). A+

I got all of Sam's Winter/Christmas stuff (minus the gingerbread house) the Christmas I got Sam and I love this box! I like music boxes anyway, but this is probably one of the cutest items AG made! I even like the tune! There are some neat carols in the music section! I love to display Sam and Lissie with it at Christmas time!

The music box/book is adorable! It contains pages of music for Samantha's favorite Christmas carols and when you turn the key, it plays "O Christmas Tree," which we know is Samantha's favorite carol. The front of the book has an inscription to Sam from Uncle Gard. The writing looks fake but it is a nice touch. I dislike the fact that only a few pages are actual pages and the rest is a wooden block. It looks weird and is deceiving when you first look at it. The ribbon to hold Samantha's place is also nice, but nothing special. I've seen various music box/books like this one, so Samantha can have a collection of them. This accessory is important to the story and a fun piece to have. Grade: A-

Just got mine. I bought this secondhand, so the ribbon is entirely frayed, but the music box portion works fine, and that was more important. It appears to be a PC version - says "Made in Taiwan especially for PC" on the gold sticker and (c) 1991 Pleasant Company on the last page. This is my first accessory for any of my dolls (not including the Meet Accessories, which I always got along with the doll), so I am happy to have such a cute little thing to display with my dolls now. And who can not love something given to Sam by Uncle Gard?

I got this piece at AGPLA in 2008. It still works beautifully with no glitches. It's adorable, and is a must if you've read Samantha's Surprise!" Very high quality. A+
