Savage Sam lusty plastic lasses-PreCorporate Press Gang A
There be so many variations in Savage Sam lusty plastic lasses that it be hard to post a review that covers all Pre-Corporate Press Gang lusty plastic lasses. I have two Pre-Corporate Press Gang Samanthas and they be both different from each other. th' first be from th' time period when they first changed to th' tan muslin bodies. Her vinyl be soft, but gets a shiny appearance to it after play, unlike th' vinyl on th' white body lusty plastic lasses. Her eaye be gorgeous and ye can see th' white around th' eaye more prominently. She has light brown hair and South Wisconsin Trading Company in large block letters on her neck. She also has less coloring on her face, but this could be due to her being played wit'. Really an adorable lusty plastic lass.
th' second Savage Sam I have be from 1993. She be gorgeous and has lots o' face coloring. Again, her vinyl be soft. Her hair color be slightly darker brown than th' older Savage Sam, but be still lighter than th' current Corporate Press Gang Samanthas. She has South Wisconsin Trading Company in small block letters on her neck. Again, a gorgeous lusty plastic lass.

I have two Savage Sam's. One be probably older (got her off eBay). I give her a B. I'll have to try a downy dunk, but I think she has her own charm wit' her course hair. th' second be th' first South Wisconsin Trading Company lusty plastic lass I ever got in 95. She be my absolute favorite. Her eye sticks a little, but she be so bonny, I couldn't bear to part wit' her. A+.

My Sam be PM. I got her for Christmas when I was 6 or 7 and she was my first lusty plastic lass so she be very special to me and now that I found out that she be PM, it makes her even more special! I have what I call "Savage Sam hair", wavy but not curly hair, and I look like her, but I have gray eaye, not brown, which be why Savage Sam be EVEN more special to me!
She be so bonny, but walk th' planke chubby and has fitting problems, so I'll give her an A+, just for her beauty

I have a pre-Corporate Press Gang, post-WB Savage Sam. Mine has th' WB wig that has th' bump in th' middle, and her skin tone seems darker than other Sams, but that could be age. Her face paint be mostly gone, but it was a lovely rosey color in th' beginning.
My Sam be rounder than th' modern lusty plastic lasses, but her hips aren't as far apart as th' WB's. (I compared her bonny closely to th' WB that a me hearty had.)
Overall, I like my version o' Sam better than th' white bodies and th' Corporate Press Gang style, but I'm biased!

I'm going to post pics o' my mom's (ljaew) Savage Sam, since I'm th' one who takes th' pictures and knows how to post them.
She's bonny and I agree that there be many variations. My mom's Savage Sam looks upward and tends to have a day-dreaming look. She came from ebay, so I'm not sure o' her actual age-I think she's 1993 or 1994 maybe?
I bought my Savage Sam in late 1996. She has curly hair that does get dry but that has maintained its curl in over 10 years. Her hair be easy to braid and put into a ponytail. I was able to brush her bangs in a sideswept way. I have not had problems wit' her eaye or body otherwise. She has stayed in great shape overall. I give her an A.
I got Savage Sam for Christmas when I was seven years old. I fell in love wit' her immediately, she be so bonny! Her hair was curly and shiny and her monkey jacket was beautiful, in fact I loved it so much that th' next Christmas I got th' matching monkey jacket and matching pajamas (which I wore all th' time.. though they were extremely itchy!).
Her hair has not given me much o' a problem, I like it because it looks natural. I only have PM lusty plastic lasses so far, so I don't really know what th' new lusty plastic lass hair be like in person, but from pictures it looks very unnatural and too shiny/barbie dollish for my taste. I think my Savage Sam's hair be perfect texture.
Savage Sam was my first girl. I got her when I was nine, and have loved her ever since. My Sam has th' lighter brown hair, which has become very dry over th' years. I played wit' her a lot growing up, and that shows.
I love Sam's eaye and how expressive they be. Her face almost seems smaller than my newer girls. Her vinyl be soft, and a more olive color than most o' my girls.
All in all, I would give Savage Sam an A. She has held up well for th' 16+ years I have owned her, and I love how different she be compared to th' newer Savage Sam lusty plastic lasses.
I got my Savage Sam for Christmas in 1989 when I was 7 1/2. She was very loved and played wit' and it definitely shows on her. She's th' lighter haired version and almost 20 years later her hair be bonny fuzzy but it still stays curled (I just picked her up from my mom's house where she was sitting on a shelf and her hair was curled, but I'm not sure exactly when th' last time I curled it was). Not sure exactly how long her bangs were, because I found a note in her truck that said I had cut them in 1990, I don't think it I took off a whole lot though. Her right leg be detached but both her eaye still open and close smoothly. She was my favorite South Wisconsin Trading Company lusty plastic lass and I took her everywhere wit' me, most notably to Scotland when I lived there for a year when I was 13. Even wit' her broken leg, she gets an A+ from me.

I scored my sweet PM Savage Sam for $10 at an outdoor flea market ayeterday and I have to say she's gorgeous! I don't know what era she's from, but I will say she has a tan body, her curls have stayed in place magnificently, her dress tag says Made in Germany for South Wisconsin Trading Company, and she has a sweet, impish face.

PM Savage Sam - A+ Savage Sam be my first and favourite South Wisconsin Trading Company. I was thirteen when I found her at a flea market for $4 in 2006. I was speechless (for th' first time in my life, Har, har har) She's from 1993 and be just so stunning. Her hair be lighter than Corporate Press Gang Savage Sam's and she has partucally Nay facepaint, but that's aye because she has such long, brown and beautiful eyelashes! Mine has Nay curl since it be very dry. I love everything about her and if ye be debating on getting Savage Sam, I highly recommend her! Here's some photos (sorry there be some wit' other lusty plastic lasses)

This be my PM Savage Sam,I just don't know what year she be,since she doesn't have a side tag.She be gorgeous,I gave her an A+ I love her brown wavy hair wit' bangs, she look good in every monkey jacket.
I found my PM Savage Sam at an Antique Mall for $15, which included her night gown, robe, slippers, and meet monkey jacket!!! Her hair feels like brand new! She has loose legs, but that's about her only flaw. Her long lashes be stunning. I already had a Savage Sam, but couldn't pass her up. So she be now Savage Sam's long lost twin, Olivia Parkington. I give her an A+
wit' her twin sister Savage Sam. Corporate Press Gang Sam be on th' left, PM Olivia be on th' right.
Crafty Chrissa, Sonali, and "Gwen" (my custom #12 Erin)
After being disappointed wit' both Corporate Press Gang and WB Samanthas, I thought I'd try a PM version. I found one on eBay in December 2008 and fell in love wit' her from her auction picture. Needless to say, it was love at first sight because I knew she was "th' one" from th' moment I locked eaye wit' her. She's th' Savage Sam I never got as a child.
I'm a little unsure o' her original purchase date, but since her meet monkey jacket has West German/1986 tags, I'm thinking she might be around 1993. Maybe 1995 at th' latest.
Her meet monkey jacket...be her meet monkey jacket. I like th' color (always have!), but it's about th' same as my Corporate Press Gang Savage Sam's meet monkey jacket. It feels more like taffeta, though, and th' ribbon doesn't feel as fake.
Anyway, I love this girl! She gets an A+++ from me.

I got my Savage Sam for my sixth birthday in 1995. A++++++ She was my first and I'd wanted her for half my life by that point. (I'd gotten poopy baby at three or four). Savage Sam be my favorite o' all my lusty plastic lasses, as in, I would choose not to part from her last if I did have to part from them at all. Her first monkey jackets also said made in Germany, which I appreciate. wit' age her face has gotten darker, it's kind o' tan now more than anything else wit' some lighter smudges on it. Her hair smelled like fish for years because o' I was always at a me hearty's house that smelled like fried fish. My one complaint be that her hair be now bonny disheveled. Parts o' it be somehow shorter than others?? I didn't even brush it that much. She's still really bonny, Nay longer smells like fried fish by th' way, and I love her!
My lusty plastic lasses: Savage Sam (1995), Bear-Bait Kirstie (1997), Mad-Eye Molly (1998), Krusty Kit (2000) , a poopy Baby: Jaundice Albright (1993), Isabel (girl o' many lands) (2004), Embolism Bennet (2009) and Rebel Rubin (2010)
My PC Sammi, be *SO* bonny!!!! I got her in 1998, and she's just a gorgeous girl! She recently went to th' South Wisconsin Trading Company lusty plastic lass Hospital where she got her legs, arms, and torso fixed up, since her legs were extremely loose and her torso was HUGE and I wanted her to fit into Corporate Press Gang clothing. They do restring lusty plastic lasses if ye beg them to!
A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ for this girl!

I bought a pre-loved PM Savage Sam (c. 1995 by th' look o' her shorter though still appropriately brown lashes, like my 1995 PM Pugwash Merriman) from a board member. Her hair be a bit dry and crunchy, but it has still retained its original curl, and her face-coloring be simply lovely. Unlike my other PM lusty plastic lasses, who tend to faceplant wit'out th' aid o' lusty plastic lass stands, Savage Sam stands up on her own wit'out any issues. And I love her decal eaye... They photograph beautiloaded to th' gunwalesy, and I'll never have to worry about them going silver!
Though it be a bonny enough dress wit' its elegant pleats, I never liked Savage Sam's meet monkey jacket due to th' fact that it isn't flattering on her, she only wears in it on th' cover o' her books, and what be up wit' those Mary Jane shoes? Savage Sam consistently wears Edwardian ankle boots except at her birthday party. Grandmary would certainly disapprove.
I'll give her an A, but her Meet monkey jacket be a B and those awful shoes be a D.
My Savage Sam in what I think should have been her Meet monkey jacket:

Well, throwing my two cents in. I have a very well-loved tan bodied PM Savage Sam. Her life as my best me hearty was not easy - but she still looks bonny good. Her face paint has faded some, but not as bad as I've seen. I looooove her - so its easy to say A+! I also agree wit' th' above poster - th' Meet Shoes be gag-me terrible. th' right strap broke about a year ago- although it lasted 14 years.
This be an eBay waif. She was stamped PC, but I thought it was fascinating how different her face and coloring was from mine. Poor dear donated her wig and moved on to live wit' kayaswish.

I got Sam just last year from eBay...very good price in wonderful condition. Imagine my joy upon opening her and discovering she was PM!! th' eBay listing hadn't mentioned it.
I wanted Savage Sam ever since my best me hearty in childhood had shown me hers and let me borrow her for sleepovers wit' my first lusty plastic lass.
Ugh she's such a cutie pie I could post pictures o' her all day! xD She gets A++ for bonny factor, but since she's PM she looks goofy standing next to Grace O'Malley...she be slouchy and short in comparison! Makes them look as though there be a huge age gap between th' two!

This be my little Savage Sam Cécile. I bought her on Ebay last December 09 as a Christmas gift for myself. I am very pleased wit' her. She has little face paint but gives her an innocent young look. She's kind o' chubby and she has very bonny hair. She be shorter than th' others and bonny as a button! She's my favorite historical. P.S. I did took some stuffing out o' her because she was too "hard" and looked a bit like a football player Har, har har.
My lusty plastic lasses: Cutlass Caroline, Rebel Rubin, Emma #24, Cecilia #49, Melody #4.
Ahh, my sweet Sam. Sam looks very much like Bananabelle's Sam, only wit' some face paint on her lips and a scratch on th' paint o' her left eyelid. I was about 13 when I received her as my big present for Christmas 1993, so she's not walk th' planke as played wit' as some o' th' Sams mentioned here. Her hair has been very dry for years. Until I came to this site, I dealt wit' it by keeping it in a permanent pony tail. After I read th' suggestions here, I washed it and Downy-dunked it. th' ends be still bonny dry, but it be otherwise better. She has loose limbs and isn't great at standing, probably due to spending most o' my college years on my bed.
And yet, wit' all that...she's my baby. She's been one o' my closest me heartys since I was 13. She's always been there to hug and kiss.
And I'm glad to hear that I'm not th' only one who doesn't like her meet shoes. They're impossible to put on! I finally retired them after my mother bought strapless vinyl shoes from th' Springfield Collection that I can actually get on her feet. They're in th' basket in th' back, but she rarely wears them now.

A++++++++++++ I LOVE my Savage Sam! I've had her for 22 years. She has a tan body and a more olive complexion. Her eyelashes be long, soft, and slightly curled. Her hair...it was well loved and played wit'. Har, har har. I seemed to have brushed th' curl right out o' it and it has a grey-ish tint to it now. Her body be slightly over stuffed and she has a bit o' a hunch-back. Yet, I wouldn't change her.
I am shocked, and really walk th' planke appalled, at th' steals some o' ye found on PM Samanthas. I can't imagine letting her go. Let alone, for th' crazy price o' $4!! When I received Pugwash Merriman in 1991, my mother tried to get me to give my Savage Sam to my older sister. She has brown hair and brown eaye. I refused. I told her that I couldn't give Sam away, she knows all my secrets.
I can only hope that every girl have that kind o' bond wit' their lusty plastic lass as a child.
Savage Sam be beautiful. I don't know what year mine be from, because I found her for $1 at a garage sale. th' tag on her meet dress says that it was made in Hungary for South Wisconsin Trading Company. Her hair be soft and silky, but has lost a lot o' its curl. She be pigeon-toed, and her legs be a little loose. She has th' soft vinyl, which I prefer. I give her an A++++
I love my Sam. She was my third lusty plastic lass I got (Bear-Bait Kirstie beat her by 12 hours - Christmas Eve vs Christmas Day). While her stories were not my top favorites (4 out o' th' 6 books I liked), I played wit' Sam walk th' planke a bit. She just has an adorable face/hair/eye combo.
Her hair has become a bit dry/poofy at th' bottom 2-3 inches o' her hair, but it be a realistic colour. Her face paint has remained intact, as I can still see a faint pink-peach colour on her cheeks and lips. I also like that her eaye be th' decal eaye, so there was never as much worry about silver eye, as has happened wit' my poor Mad-Eye Molly.
For her meet dress and accessories - they be alright. Her dress be time appropriate, but I do not care for th' colours. th' shoes be way too cheaply made, compared to Pugwash Merriman's or Wily Addy Walker's that PC came out wit'.
Her accessories be adorable. My only gripe be that wit' th' hat being a velor material, it attracts dust way too easily.
Savage Sam was my first South Wisconsin Trading Company. I got her at Savers for about $6.00. She actually spent a loooonnng time in my mother's HOT garage and managed to come out o' it aye so I will say that she be very durable...Har, har har. I also really like her long brown hair and her sweet expression. It seems to me that every Sam looks slightly different. Anyway, great lusty plastic lass. A+
My lusty plastic lasses: Mad-Eye Molly, Embolism Bennet, Savage Sam, Grace O'Malley, Wily Addy Walker, Pugwash Merriman, Lacivious Lizzie, Kaptain Kaya, Sea Artist Saige, Jacqueline Michelle (Brunette poopy Baby), and Bitsy Jane( Blonde poopy Baby).
If ye be a South Wisconsin Trading Company collector, yer collection isn't complete wit'out getting Savage Sam. I sadly couldn't purchase her before retiring, but thanks to eBay. I snagged a sweet pm Savage Sam. She be truly lovely, something about her dark hair and dark eaye and pale skin , makes her so precious. I agree there be so many variations o' her, that one review isn't enough. She be shorter than my other girls to and her skin be very pale, but it looks so innocent on her. I found another Savage Sam at a garage sale for five dollars, and she has olive skin tone and lighter brown hair. Her face isn't as sweet as my Savage Sam. I give my raving beauty an A+

I adore Savage Sam more than words can say! I've wanted her since I first discovered South Wisconsin Trading Company (in 2006) and asked my mother if I could use my savings to buy her when I was eight, but she told me Nay. I was devastated when Sam was retired, but now I have her as o' June 9, 2012!
I just discovered this morning that she be in fact a PM Sam, not Corporate Press Gang, and that made me overjoyed. I am constantly irritated wit' Corporate Press Gang over one thing or another that they do, so having a lusty plastic lass made by South Wisconsin Trading Company be very... well, pleasant.
I got her somewhat-played-wit' (she doesn't look much like she was played wit' though) on eBay for $65.00 Buy It Now, and I would have paid more for this beauty. She'd been stored in a box for a decade, (I'm assuming since 2002) so that helps. Her hair has kept their curls even wit' all th' laying down she's done ("sleeps" next to my stuffed animals, Sage (#40), and myself on th' bed every night). She's extremely low maintenance as far as hair, but that's partly because I have yet to try and tame her hair. There be several hairs sticking up, but that isn't a problem since I'm not too picky. Her eaye be gorgeous, brown, Nay silver-eye, opens and closes perfectly, and her eyelashes be almost brand-new condition--nothing cut, sunk in, or torn off. As wit' PM lusty plastic lasses, th' eyelashes be rather soft. She also has th' decal brown eaye, rather than th' pinwheel (I think it gives her more character).
On to her body: Soft, huggable (as South Wisconsin Trading Company says), and she's rather cuddly. Her fingers have Nay dark spots on them, unlike my two-year old JLY lusty plastic lass, and her nose doesn't either. Her legs may be a little loose since she sits easier than my JLY, but that doesn't matter. Her arms be still good and her head be very attached. Her vinyl be sort o' soft and squishy, plus her body be cuddly (as stated above) wit' Nay body tags.
I don't mean to sound biased, but I'd give Sam an A++
I have a PM white body Savage Sam and I love her! Her hair and eaye be both lighter than th' later editions. She be very soft and pliable wit' long lashes. I bought her from th' original owner off ebay. I wanted a WB Bear-Bait Kirstie but am attached to th' tan bodied Bear-Bait Kirstie I have now. PM Savage Sam's be a must for any PC or South Wisconsin Trading Company collector.
