I don't know what is wrong with me. I loved Nellie and wanted her so desperately...until I got her. All the catalogue photos attracted me to her because she was simply adorable in them. But once I opened her for myself, I didn't like her anymore. Something's wrong with me! I adore Samantha but her little bff is not my taste for some reason! I never much liked her meet outfit before I got her but thought I could work with it...I can't. It's so NOT blue, and though others have assumed it's post-adoption it seems pre-adoption to me- Bleck! The collar pops itself and I wonder if it's safe to iron it down? I do not like how it shows so much of her neck...I have never seen dresses that did that in 1904...they were usually high-collared and this dress would have looked better perhaps with something like Samantha's tea dress neck-line. Maybe I just need to bond with Nellie? I have only taken a couple photos of her, while the rest have their own albums by now! And even those photos she is just in group shots...She did arrive to me at a busy time in life- the holidays. And I was still marveling at Felicity who was a late birthday present from November. I don't know, I guess I just need to pay her more attention and see if we 'click.' At the moment I give her a B-

Overall, I give Nellie an A+. She is a beautiful and very unique doll. Her wig is very thick, which I definitely like. Her face is equally adorable; the feathered brows and freckles look great with her strawberry blonde wig and deep blue eyes. I give her meet outfit an A+ as well; the color and fabric used are breathtaking. I'm not too impressed with the shoes, though; they have a very cheap look to them, which is why Nellie's holiday shoes are worn with the meet outfit.

Nellie is a gorgeous doll. Her hair is very silky and the prettiest shade of red, although it's more strawberry blonde. The eyes look very good with her coloring, and the freckles with the Josefina mold are very cute. The only problem I have with her is that her bangs sort of blend in too much with her longer hair, and long strands tend to get mixed up in her bangs that frustrate me beyond frustration.
But ignoring that, Nellie would definitely get an A from me.

We love Nellie! She is my daughter's doll, but if she didn't have her, I would get my own. I think she is my favorite of all the dolls AG has made. She looks great as a modern or a 1930s girl, as well as 1904. In this picture, I couldn't keep her hair nice because it was windy, but it is still one of my favorites of her: DSCN1422 by margaretmildred, on Flickr

I love my Nellie! Her dark blue eyes are striking and I think that they are her best feature. Nellie looks beautiful wearing blue, and it is my favorite color for her. Her hair is a strawberry-blond color and in some lights, it looks golden. I can not praise Nellie highly enough!

I adore Nellie. She's the most visually appealing of all my dolls and I love her character in the books so she's definitely a winner in my book She's actually the only doll I really, really like with the Josefina mold (and the only Josefina mold I have). Her dark blue eyes (same as Kit's I think) are so pretty, the freckles are adorable, red hair is my favorite, the hairstyle is cute as heck, and to me the face mold really works for her. Here are some pictures of my Nellie. Sorry they lack personality! I was trying to get pictures of the outfits rather than the doll herself and she's standing funny because she wanted to fall over a lot. She's strictly historical (and canon) for me, the 2 modern outfits were just because her hair is easy to deal with and the flamingo outfit's shirt is very difficult to pull on over the head. She's been wearing Rebecca's PJs for months now and I love them on her!

I love Nellie's dark blue eyes and freckles. She's one of the few historicals who has a meet outfit that I really like, plus she looks cute modern too.

My Nellie modeling a dress I made for my great-niece's doll. She looks great in everything, I just don't ever think to take her photo when I change her clothes!

Here's my Nellie: Nellie looks exhausted. She must have been running around with Samantha and Josefina at Piney Point looking for specimens. She loves hanging with Kanani in modern times, but still needs big bows. tea with good doll friends another big bow!! She still has on a bow and tights with her jeans. Drinking with Molly and DH I love her blue eyes here. With fake Lydia and Samantha's doll pram Modeling her undies with Samantha. Don't look boy dolls. Ready for Christmas. Dressed for school. Do I have to leave my Baby Gap bear home? Nellie in Minnesota?? Nellie excels at sports. What great balance she and Addy have. Swimming with Samantha. Will we meet that doll named Rebecca at Coney Island? Photobucket is getting cranky and ate that picture.

I was very fortunate to buy a Nellie recently from a board member and I just love her. I was surprised by the color of her hair. It is a strawberry blond color. Her hair is so nice and thick and I adore the short style.

I adopted Nellie recently and I just LOVE her! I will probably do some minor time travel as she will wear clothing from her own era and Kit's. Her freckles are adorable and her short hair is so cute. Her blue eyes and strawberry blonde hair are striking together. She gets an A+ from me! Mod edit to remove deleted image link

I have said this before - Nellie is the only doll that my DH passed and said "That's a pretty doll" - usually he doen't pay attention.
She looks good in everything - and I like to keep my dolls in their own time zone - so I bought a second Nellie to be modern.
That's how pretty she is.

I love Nellie and I think she is very pretty. She's quite versatile and looks good in both modern and historical clothes. I can try and get some pictures for you later. ETA: Pics~

I found my Nellie at a thrift store and had no clue who she was when I found her, I only knew she was AG. I found her there with Elizabeth and Kailey and IMMEDIATELY Nellie stuck out to me. I don't know if it was her gorgeous eyes, her hair color, or her adorable freckles. Anyway, I was super happy later on to find out that she was Nellie O'Malley best friend of Samantha Parkington (who I already had). My first best friends set was completed. A+++ for Nellie.

Nellie is a beautiful doll. I give her an A+. She looks good in Victorian time period clothes but ours also doubles as a 1930's girl for a friend for Kit. Her meet dress is GORGEOUS. It is probably my favorite meet dress.

I found my Nellie at a thrift store for $15 with a bad eye and bald spot wig. I sent her in for a new head and now she's lovely! And our first best friend doll. I don't have her original meet outfit but I do have Samantha's Blue Skating party dress which makes a great replacement. She came back from the hospital with the blue ribbon in her hair!

Nellie is such a sweet doll with the Josefina mold and freckles. Her hair is a pretty strawberry blonde and her meet meet dress is definitely one of my favorites. The pale blue color and double puffed sleeves are lovely.
