*A blue-and-white swimsuit that is similar in design to this one is depicted in Meet Kit* Kit’s 1934 Swimsuit $24 QYO Grade: A- This set includes Kit's swimsuit, swim cap, parasol, shoes and sunglasses as well as some trading cards. This set is terrific! Lots of pieces, lots of play value for your money with or without a coupon code. Very, very cute! When I first saw this, I was not very impressed. I ordered it because I want to complete Kit's collection. When it arrived, I was so glad I bought it! It is so much cuter in person. Well worth every penny. A very nice set. The swimsuit is a good fit, and it looks so cute it is easy to think of it as a sun dress. I was under the impression it was red and white stripes (I tend to see whatever color I want too, I guess, lol) but it is indeed red and light YELLOW strips. While the colors may not sound like an appealing combination , they are very cute together. The belt is attached and has a cute oval buckle. The swim cap goes on well and does not totally ruin he hairdo. The shoes are so sweet. They look just like the ones pictured on the front cover of "Danger at the Zoo". They would be adorable with her "Red Fans" outfit too. The amber tortoise shell glasses are priceless! I absolutely love them. They look so cute on Kit. They do not look as goggle-like as they do in the picture, they look like sunglasses. The parasol is beautiful, but unfortunately this is where the minus part of the A- comes in... The parasol LOOKS terrific. It is beautiful, a nice print, a great size. It is terrific EXCEPT for the plastic it is made of. Mine already has an old and brittle feel to it.The plastic has a very matte, papery feel. Mine has been opened up all of three times, and it is already showing wear to the vinyl. With much use at all, this piece is not going to last. I would love to see this item remade with something like "Tyvek" (the rip proof plastic-like paper that some Priority Mail envelopes are made out of, it is available in many thicknesses) My parasol came with some of the color already missing from the red tip of the umbrella where the color on the vinyl did not survive being stretched to cover the end, if that makes sense. So there are white places on the edges of the tip of the umbrella- see pictures below.

My umbrella has the same "flaw" printed into it. I think it's a cute little detail that mostly would go un noticed with many girls and parents. I am thinking it is printed on TyVEK. makes it far more duable then just having plastic or paper. We love our Kit suit here as well! I think it is so adorable and was surprised at how thick the material was on it. I am so pleasantly surprised and LOVE it!

I lovelovelove the colors of this swimsuit on my Beatrice! Only, it was awfully difficult to get it ON. Is it supposed to be really tight? I love that the cap is made out of swimsuit-material, though. Very nice detail, that was.

I was taking pictures of these shoes for my db, and I realized that the soles are weird. Look at how see-through they are, compared to Kit's meet sandals, or the ones that go with her scooter outfit. They feel mushy, too, like foam or jellies rather than the sturdier soles of the other ones. Any idea why they're like this, or what this material is supposed to be? Also, how disappointing that these sandals have VELCRO closures, instead of real buckles. The left one was really difficult to get one Beatrice's foot, but that foot appears to be an odd size. --- KERI

I got her swimsuit - love it, although Jeannie Wakatsuki will inherit the parasol - see my signature. Kit, bother with a parasol? Ha! Much too girly for her! I do think her suit and cap would have been a different fabric, maybe more wooly? I think her cap would have been rubber like the ones I used to use but I concede that would be too hard on the doll's hair. How can AG even think about retiring any of these?

I received my Kit's swimsuit today. Well worth the $18 sale price this month.
My complaints would be:
1) the umbrella's colors clash with her suit colors! I like everything to coordinate. The umbrella is red, white and blue, and the suit is orange/red and yellow. I think I'll just use the umbrella in a different way than with the swimsuit set. It really is a cute accessory.
2) the sunglasses are a thin plastic and quite fragile. I'm afraid they won't be around too long with very much play time.
That's all. But I agree with the other comments. The material of the suit and cap are so thick and sturdy. Well made outfit.
Grade B+

I give it a B+. The umbrella is easy to break. I have taken it away from my girls to protect it. But, the swimsuit itself it SO cute. The shoes actually can go with several other outfits too. Real cute. Not a bad price on sale too.

I tried to put it on my Kit and I could barely get it over her shoulders and it doesn't close right in the back... :/. I love the sandals, the parasol and the sunglasses a lot though! I am really disappointed that the suit doesn't really fit my Kit though. She's not even a PM and isn't that chunky! B; because of the way the swimsuit fits.

I'm usually not a fan of doll swimsuits, and even though I'm not fond of the color scheme of Kit's, I had to get it. I love that it looks realistic enough to wear in the 1930s, yet also kind of looks like a mini mod dress. It fits like a swimsuit should, but then I also remove Kit's undies before I put it on. It's not actually that tight when you do remove those undies. The coordinating swim cap is cute as well, but it bugs me that it really messes up Kit's hair. The red sandals are designed like Kit's meet sandals, but the color is cuter. I just wish they didn't have velcro. The sunglasses are weird, but seem to be accurate, and the parasol is just too cute in itself. Grade: B
