Glitter Guitar
Your American Girl can press the strings of this guitar to play three preprogrammed songs at her own pace, or press the demo buttons to hear them play automatically! Comes with a removable vinyl strap and a vinyl carrying case. Includes volume control.
Strap: I like the color; it is light blue and see-through. Thick plastic. However, it got twisted really easily and one of the ends doesn't attach very well anymore. Grade: C+
Case: I love the color and fabric. It is a very thick material that is iridescent which is really neat. Same light blue as the guitar strap. However, I would've rather seen a strap that you could've put over your doll's shoulders instead of the very obviously human-sized handles... there's no way a doll can hold the case as it is. Grade: B
Guitar: It's very interactive. I liked that you can "play" the songs in one of the modes. The songs aren't that tonal/beepy like some of the other AG music players (Mia's!) so they aren't too annoying. You have to be very careful with the guitar strings though because if you actually strum them they will break. Instead you just push down lightly on the strings. I don't really like this aspect because it's not very realistic and I think girls would be tempted to strum. The doll can't strum or touch the guitar while she is playing it but I'm not sure how they could've improved that since the doll would need elbow joints to do so. Eats batteries. Love the non-pink detailing. It's very glittery. Grade: B+
Overall Grade: B
