Tennis Outfit (LE Retired)

We got this one because I (and my mom) have always been really into tennis. I played for like 8 years, and this was the first tennis outfit they made.

The Good: Colors are nice. It's a nice contrast to Molly's normaly red-white-blue, and I like the light stripes. There's 3 pieces to the outfit: Top that really buttons up, skirt that also really buttons up, and the under shorts that velcro on the side. The little buttons that really work are a nice added touch. The outfit comes with cute, cute little red tennis shoes, and a hair ribbon that matches the outfit's material. Also comes with a racquet, racquet case, and random ball that's huge, and weird. Most everything is really cute.

The Bad: Unless tennis balls were huge back in the 40s, the ball is totally not the right size. They do this with the modern balls, too, they're about half the size of the racquet, lol.

I have this outfit. I don't have the tennis ball, but I can live without it.

My Molly is wearing it now.

My Molly likes to wear her red tennies that came with this outfit with her camp uniform and her hula outfit! She also wears the cute striped shorts under her hula skirt.

Overall Grade: A
I love everything about this outfit - all the way down to the real buttons on the shirt and skirt. It would have been nice to have two ribbons for Molly's braids, but this one is long enough to tie her braids in the back or on top of her head. The accessories are well made and complement the outfit nicely.

First, dress her in a sporty three-piece ensemble of cool, striped cotton chambray: a camp-style blouse, shorts, and a flared overskirt. Tie her red tennis shoes on tight, and tie her braids on top her head with a striped ribbon so she’s ready to play. The blue tennis cover has Molly's name embroidered in red on the front. It has an interesting design and can be difficult to figure out how to remove it. This may be problematic for younger collectors. The pocket on the front is the perfect size to hold Molly's tennis ball.	The racket is one of the best parts of this outfit. It is wooden with a "real" grip wrapped on the bottom. The strings would not be very effective for hitting a tennis ball, but the effect makes them look realistically strung. My only complaint about the racket is that the designs are decals rather than painted on. The ball is heavy and a little bit fuzzy - very cute!
Good thing they include directions for removing the cover on the tennis racket!	The shoes are nicely made and as mentioned in a previous post, look good with Molly's other outfits. The remind me of the dolly version of Keds. Very sturdy and the shoe laces stay neatly tied in their bows.
