Ooh, forgot about those shoelaces. They were freakishly long for me, too, and didn't stay tied, so I replaced them with real shoelaces cut down to size.
The shoes are cute and complement Molly's outfits nicely, but with all of the trouble I've had with the soles coming off, I give this set a C+.

I just got mine. How long did you have them before the soles began deteriorating?

I bought Molly's saddle shoes and had a big problem with them! They simply wouldn't fit well! I would try to force them onto Molly's feet, but the shoe fabric would warp. Either they were made too small, or my Molly's feet are simply too big... I wound up returning them.

Mine are too big...not too big as to fall off of Molly's feet...but too big nonetheless. The brown oxfords fit much better.

Why does it look to me like the soles are freakishly huge? Is it just the angle or do they look weird in person?

The soles are a little weird. They're made from hard plastic and yes the heels are rather big. Susanna liked modeling them though and she's already claimed them for the Rt 66 dress.

The shoes are really big. They slid off Ruthie (PM AGT) very easily but fit Susanna fine.

I love my Molly saddle shoes. Molly now refuses to wear anything else. She is a strong willed girl who gives these an A.
My Molly is an early 90's peach body. The saddle shoes are PM, aquired this April as part of Molly's birthday haul (oh don't look at me like that, Molly and I have the same birthday, so really, her presents are for me and we don't celebrate any other doll's birthday with gifts). They fit perfectly and we've had no problems with the soles coming off.
A nice pair of these is a must for any Molly collector. They look good with all her clothes.

Just to throw my Molly Saddle shoes into the ring. I got mine from AG this spring. Mine are not too big. They don't fit my PM Molly at all! I complained about that, and they sent me another pair. The second pair didn't fit her either. They don't have the huge heals as the first pictures show either. Also mine are navy blue, not black like the other pictures seem to show up as. Have they always been navy blue? Or were the PM ones black? Mattel Molly Navy Blue Saddle Shoes Other than not fitting my Molly, they are pretty neat shoes. They fit my Mattel dolls well. The strings are a bit long and don't stay tied, but over-all still a good, cute shoe. Grade B

They are navy blue and white. Mine seem to be PM though the seller said they weren't. They're a different shape from yours which are like the ones "Cousin" Molly in Chicago wears (at NellieGirl's house).

I got the saddle shoes in late 2007, and they fit beautifully, and look just like the saddle shoes I wore in junior high school! They look so cute with her meet outfit, and her school outfit. I'd say at least a B+. Oh, I couldn't get them on her feet until I remembered - and yes, there was a wad of tissue paper in the toe!

The PM saddle shoes are HUGE on my white bodied Molly. She can slip them off without unlacing them. They look really really cute with her after school outfit and her Rt. 66 dress. My grade of B still stands for the PM shoes.

They have always fit fine on my Molly but it's just the long laces are annoying!

I got my saddle shoes in '94 or '95. They fit my Molly just fine. I've never had any problems with the soles coming off. I wanted them because Molly needed some "play" shoes. And I liked these better than the brown oxfords. I had a pair of saddle shoes when I was 8 or 9, only mine were black and white.

I don't have any photos of Molly's Saddle Shoes as a close up - but I do have a few with her wearing them. Our pair was purchased from AG sometime in 2008 - they fit our Molly perfectly, the laces are just the right length, and no problems with the soles (but I think that might be a PM issue). Overall, I give the AG version of these shoes an A! D~

My Mattel Saddle Shoes are a workout to get on my PM Molly. It's difficult, but it can be done. If I didn't love them so much, I'd not have kept them. They're awfully cute, and they go with most of her clothes. Even though they're tough to get on, I use them often, so they've actually stretched a bit at this point. They're an easier fit than when they were brand new. I've not tried the shoes on a Mattel doll, but I'm sure they fit newer girls much better.
For appearance and style: A+, for fit B-/C+

I think these shoes are really cute! They fit my Mattel and PM dolls. It's true that they're a little hard to get on, but it isn't too bad. The only thing I don't like about them is the laces. They're made of some woven nylon-ish material and do not want to stay tied at all.

I picked up what I believe to be a Mattel version of these from eBay last fall. The slippery laces are hard to tie, and it took me forever to get them on Molly's feet. It was worth it in the end. She looks so cute (and she knows it - she's wearing them now with her Skating Outfit).
Overall, I'd say these are perfect play shoes for any Molly collection.

I finally got Molly's Saddle Shoes after being back ordered for almost the entire summer! But I was disappointed in how small they are--I can wedge them onto my PM Molly, but not when she's wearing socks. Maybe they'll stretch over time? Or maybe I need to track down a PM pair.
Grade: C +

Molly's saddle shoes are terribly hard to get on even Mattel dolls. I would not recommend buying them.

The shoes are cute and go with a lot of her outfits. But they are so hard to get on!
