Nighttime Necessities (Retired)

I've been wanting to get this set, and I'm SO GLAD I was finally able to order it.

The lamp: I love Kit's gooseneck lamp, and since it really comes in handy during power outtages, I thought Molly's lamp would also come in handy. Not to mention it would look great in Molly's room! The base is plastic, kind of disappointing, but the lamp shade feels just like a real lamp shade. It also comes with two lightbulbs, and after I screwed one in, I misplaced the other. I hate when that happens! I haven't been able to turn the lamp on yet, because I can't get the base off to put batteries in. Does it slide off? Any help here?

The Nancy Drew book: This is the main reason why I wanted the set. I LOVE mini books, and I knew I had to get Molly's Nancy Drew book to add to the "AG Library." It looks just like the real thing, even right down to a dust jacket.

The hot water bottle: I didn't think I'd like this, since in the catalogue it looks like it's hard plastic, but it really looks like a hot water bottle that has been shrunk down into miniature. It definitely feels like rubber (though I suppose it could be that plastic that feels like rubber), and it even reads "Pleasant Dreams" on it.

I just got this, too and I was also disappointed the lamp's base was plastic not wood as I expected. Otherwise, I love the whole set!

This has to be one of my all time favorite Molly accessories! Everything is just such a perfect replica of the real thing (except the lamp base, but it "looks" real).



I love that the lamp actually works, so does the clock. The book is perfect, and I remember when my mom went to bed with a hot water bottle every night. And it all looks so cute on Molly's nightstand.

Overall, I give this set an A+!

I got this set back in the mid '90s. My lamp no longer works. But it never gave off much light either. I've mainly used it for decoration. I remember actually filling the water bottle with water once. And I read the Nancy Drew book. My mom had read me some Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys books as bedtime stories in the past so I was familiar with the characters. I was just disappointed that it wasn't the whole book. That wasn't one we had and I wanted to know how it ended. I never did find a copy. I seen a copy once, but my mom didn't have enough money that day. *makes mental note to look online*
