* This outfit was worn by Molly in the book Molly Learns a Lesson. It can also be seen in Changes for Molly, the short story "Molly's A+ Partner," and in the book Brave Emily.*(The name of this outfit changed to School Outfit in January, 2009)Here's a review for Molly's plaid jumper and blouse, which is her school outfit. This is a very simple but classic school ensemble. First, there is Molly's blouse, which has small lace trim and two little buttons in the front. It also has a Peter Pan collar. It fastens with Velcro in the back of the shirt and also around the wrists. Next, there is her jumper. It has a nice red, green, and white plaid pattern on it, and the skirt part of it has box pleats. Like the blouse, the jumper fastens in back with Velcro. I believe it is long enough to go right under Molly's kness. Last are Molly's green hair ribbons. I think they are made of satin? The ribbons are a nice touch and complete this outfit. I just wish the jumper were made of a slightly more stiffer material, since I think it can wrinkle easily if you're not careful. Also, I think the blouse is slightly tight around Molly's neck, but it may depend on the blouse you get or how chubby your doll is. i5.photobucket.com/albums/y154/heavenlymonster/American%20Girl%20dolls/IMG_1213.jpg(This picture doesn't feature the green hair ribbons, but you get the idea.) Overall, I would recommend this outfit. It is nice and old-fashioned, and it fits in perfectly with the fashions of Molly's era. Grade: A *mod edit to remove oversized image embed*

This was also my first Molly outfit. And I also agree that this will never go out of style. Here's a closer look at the green hai ribbons:

Very classic! The Mattel version fits okay on my PM girl, except the blouse sleeves are a bit snug. Grade: A

Blouse: Great, great. Also good to add to the Eqyestrian outfit when you have lost the blouse that goes with that.. :-) Jumper/Dress: I like it but you have to make her wear it with the blouse otherwise it is too low cut. Ribbons:Good, but I think that they go better with the Christmas dress. I think the ones that go with the Christmas dress go better with this one. Extra comments: Also a great outfit to put on an AGOT/JLY as a School Uniform! Overall grade: A-

Probably my favorite Molly outfit. The blouse is lovely and fits under the jumper well. The jumper has just the right cut and design. The plaid pattern goes well on Molly. The hair ribbons match it- although I am not sure if I would have used satin for a school uniform. A+

I don't have much to add to the above reviews. This is my favorite Molly outfit for its soft, feminine look and I agree that it has a certain timeless appeal. The blouse is a very soft cotton that can wrinkle easily, but that's not such a bad thing if you can imagine it perhaps being a well-worn hand-me-down from sister Jill. Pictured again below with a OOAK coat, Molly's Meet beret, and her book bag. My daughter's Molly always wears this jumper with her saddle shoes (although usually her socks are folded down!). Our version of this outfit dates from the early 90's and has held up very well. Definitely gets an A from me.

This was also our first outfit for Molly. It just has a certain timeless appeal to it. I don't have much to add to everyone's reviews. Our Plaid Jumper & Blouse was purchased from AG in the fall of 2007. I agree, the jumper could have been made from a little bit stiffer fabric. Overall, I give this outfit an A+! D~

Funny that someone mentioned this could be great for a school uniform. Apparently, my sister asked for this outfit for her Molly because it looked like her childhood Catholic School uniform! When she gave me her Molly, I got this dress, too.
It's one of my favorite Molly outfits. Like her "Meet" outfit and the red hula sweater, it's one of the most versatile AG outfits ever. It looks great on a modern doll (especially as a school uniform, as mentioned) and on any historical doll from Kit onwards. The blouse can go with most of her skirts, pants, and shorts, and probably many JLY pieces as well. I don't have any fitting problems, but both the outfit and my Molly are PM. I didn't get the ribbons (they're probably long lost in my sister's messy room) - I usually borrow white or red ones from my Samantha.

I received this outfit today and of course love it because it is classic, however I am disappointed because the blouse only closes with one Velcro strip at the top leaving the bottom half open. I wanted her to mix and match this with her navy corduroy pants from her original play outfit.

Well the closest I have to a JLY/modern doll is GOTY Chrissa. I paired Molly's jumper with a white short-sleeve blouse ( this one from Doll Clothes Shop). This outfit can definitely pass for a modern day school uniform.

My mom's #23, Susan, in it (Susan is Molly's friend; this was before her eye-swap):

This outfit reminds me of a school uniform! Seriously though, it's VERY cute. My one complaint is that her fingers sometimes get caught in the sleeves, but overall I definitely recommend it.
