Your Molly doll has soft gray eyes that wink and blink behind her shiny glasses. Her thick pigtails are fun to braid and tie with ribbons, or you can let them out and brush her long wavy hair. Molly is soft and huggable with arms and legs that move so you can have her sit, stand, and hold all the accessories you collect for her.
Overall grade: A+
Molly is so cute. I have a PM tan-bodied Molly doll. Her hair is lighter brown than the Mattel Molly dolls, but is not as light as the WB. Also, her bangs are shorter than the WB dolls. She has lovely gray eyes with soft light brown eyelashes. Her eyebrows are light brown and she has rosy cheeks and lips. This PM Molly was the fattest of all my dolls, and I had to do some dolly liposuction so she could fit comfortably in some of the new Mattel fashions and also into the LOF clothes I wanted her to wear (my Molly plays Lisbeth).
Molly's meet outfit is great- one of the best. The skirt is wool and tends to collect lint but is high quality. The sweater is cute and a nice design, and I like that it comes with the removable dickey collar. Mollie's panties and shoes leave something to be desired (they are cheap like Sam's), but overall the outfit is nice.
You can see pictures of my Molly on Kirsten's page of my website, since she is Lisbeth, Kirsten's older cousin. I do plan to update my website this weekend and will add a Molly page and comparison chart, since I've had requests for it.

Meet Margaret Jean Kristina "Molly" McIntire, "born" July 1996 I can't say enough about my darling PM Molly. She's truly my best, best friend and has been with me through thick and thin. She's had lots of love, but I prefer her over a mint doll any day. Truly. And some of you might not think she's very pretty, but sometimes photography doesn't show her true beauty. Her eyes are a beautiful grey, maybe not as grey as the white-bodied Mollies, but still grey enough. Her facial expression is quite unique-I've only seen a few Mollies on Hostboard and eBay like her. She just LOOKS like Molly. I look at Maya Ritter, and she is the human copy of my Molly pretty much. And then Molly cannot be complete without her silver glasses...they're the old ones that curve around the ears and fit much better than the newer ones. Her two braids define her, too...I always try to keep them nice and neat. My Molly doesn't have much facial coloring as many dolls from 1996 didn't--my PM AGoT 7 didn't either--but I don't care. I wouldn't want to add color to her face because it wouldn't be her. Sometimes I'll add a little blush, but that's about it. And Molly is just so huggable. One of the only dolls I have who is, too. Whenever I'm feeling down, I turn to her. She always makes me feel better with that smile on her face! Her meet outfit is nice, though mine is falling apart. Guess I've loved it too much. It's not even tagged, except her undies I think. Her undies need new elastic, but they have held up for a good while. Her skirt, which I love, doesn't fit because part of the velcro came off, so I need to fix that. Her sweater is a great addition to her wardrobe, and her *d*i*c*k*y* is just so cute. One of the shoes have broken, and I lost one of the socks years ago, but those are just minor things. Being PM, Molly is rather chunky, but she does fit Mattel outfits. Some are a little tight on her, especially the arms, but she can fit everything...at least everything I have. Doesn't matter if she doesn't fit things, though, because she has a ton of handmade clothes my mom has made. But my favorite of her dresses, her Victory Garden dress, fits her well! Edited because I have another thing to say! Told you I can't say enough! At both AGPLA and AGPC, the workers/PS commented how LOVELY she was...noticing how her hair was lighter and how special she was to be a Pleasant Company doll. My grade for her: A++++++++++++++++++ (and on) A favorite picture of her: Edit: My beautiful Molly contracted silver eye a few years ago, so she recently came back from AGH in June with new eyes. She's still as special as ever to me, even with Mattel eyes. I also have given her a little bit of lip color since the above review.

I have had my Molly since 1995 adn she is my favorite. I fell in love with her a few years beofre that but I knew Mom couldn't afford her, so I waited and read her books. What really drew me to her was the glasses, the dancing, the parent in the military, and the fact that she was a little bit of a tomboy. She is now my main model for showing off my sewing creations. I highly reccomend her, she is just so precious.

I have a PM tan-bodied Molly, she's adorable. This is the only picture of her right now, I will try and take a better one of her later.

On a lot of pics I see of Molly, her glasses have slipped really far down her nose. Are her glasses made too big for her face?

If you don't want a reflection on Molly's glasses when taking her picture, try shooting from another angle! I find this helps a lot.
EDIT: If her glasses have stretched out, try using the screwdriver from an eyeglasses kit to tighten them. That is, if you know where one is...somehow I'm always losing mine.

Verdict: Molly's round eared glasses get very stretched out and bent out of shape over time so they do not fit her face snugly.

I fell in love with Molly - AG wasn't in Canada in 1986 and I was 10 years old and would have choosen Molly who is my mini me!
I feel very lucky to have found this GORGEOUS Molly. I am not sure what year she is from - but she has velvety soft skin and gorgeous colour! Here is Miss Molly. From the moment she arrived she has felt like MY doll.

Was Molly still Pre-Mattel through the end of 1998? Possibly. The stock of Pleasant Company dolls were probably still being sold then. In between 1997-2000 we refer to them as Transitional Dolls. Some changes to the PC dolls, but not much.

My adorable PM Molly that was rescued from the Bay early this year. This doll is pretty special to me. I got my first doll (Addy) when I was 10, and Molly was to be my second. Somehow she kept getting pushed back until I finally decided I needed her for sure this year (and I'm 20!). She's got the sweet, rounder face of PM dolls with minimal coloring. Some people think this makes a doll look kinda sickly, but I think it serves to make her look innocent. Her hair is a lighter brown. It's really soft (MUCH softer than I expected) and not at all hard to handle. Her eyes are a very pretty grey - like my friend's PM #20. And maybe it's just my Molly, but she seems shorter than my other girls... for a while her nickname was the runt. Overall, there's nothing I don't like about her. I'd recommend her to anyone who's looking for a Molly! A+Cute but blind without her glasses: Hair curled:

Last year my mom bought PM Molly (Molly Joan) from boardmember Joaniep. A few months ago, my mom gave me Molly J. My mom had said that I would get her someday and I had been talking about her quite a bit, lol, so my mom decided to let me have her Actually, when I was first into AG, Molly wasn't one of my favorites, even if we both wear glasses and I loved looking at everyone's collections in the catalogs. I didn't really see myself getting her back then. Of course, after I got back into AG, that changed. Molly is a wicked pretty doll. I love the PM Mollys best. There's just something about them that is charming. Molly is an A+++ Here are some photos of Molly J. Nov. 2008, with batter on her nose, from baking Molly wanted to pose like in the old catalogs: She wears the Mattel glasses, even though she has her PM ones, too-the Mattel ones seem to fit better.

This is my tan-bodied PM Molly. I wish I knew what year she's from, but I bought her on EBAY. She doesn't have a lot of face or lip color, but I've added a touch to her lips and cheeks. Her eyes are gorgeous, if I may say! And her hair is in like-new condition. Someday I'll need to send her away to a hospital for tightening, but for now she's my first AG and I don't want to let her out of my sight!

My tan-bodied PM Molly is probably about '96-97ish - I got her from my stepsister. She told me Molly was her first and favorite AG doll. Molly was her baby much like Samantha was (and is) mine, and it shows. She apparently got fed up with dealing with her hair and gave her a bob haircut not unlike Kit's. She also dyed her hair with red Kool-Aid.
While she probably got into trouble for it, my stepsister actually did a very nice job on Molly's hair. It looks like it came in a bob. I washed out as much of the Kool-Aid as I could. It's not red-red anymore, but it still has slight reddish highlights. I like it. It makes her unique, and it's surprisingly cute with her gray eyes. Her hair is dry, even after a Downy-dunk, but it's not as obvious thanks to the bob.
Also surprising, given she's the most played-with of all of my dolls and her limbs are quite loose, Molly can stand on her own if you set her feet up right. Even my Sam can't manage that anymore.
Molly has more face color than Sam does, though not as much as some of the Mattel Mollys I've seen. She has the softer vinyl body and a slight tilt to her head that gives her an adorable, quizzical look. She's just such a sweetheart. No wonder my stepsister adored her.
(And she doesn't have her glasses. I really need to find some for her. My sister said she sat on them and broke them!)

I really love my PM Molly, she was my very first doll. I got her when I was around 11 so probably in 1998 or earlier. She like other have mentioned has a little more fluff than the Matel dolls so most of the newer pants don't fit her. Her limbs are a little loose and she dosen't really stand too well on her own. I've already sent her for a new head once because her wig was messed up, so I can't stand to part with her again. Her hair is no longer in the braids but I love brushing her hair. A lot of people mention the PM's having a pale face but i don't really notice it. Her glasses still fit just fine although I think I may need to tighten them a little bit.

I give Molly an A. She's a great doll and I love almost all her outfits and accessories. My one complaint is her glasses are always sliding off. Therefore my Molly just doesn't wear them. I know some people complain about her hair being frizzy when unbraided, but I haven't had that problem. Molly's books are well-written and give a great view of WWII. Her movie is my favorite AG movie by far - it shows what it's like to be a kid during WWII and has some emotional parts as well. I've had Molly since I got her for my 9th birthday in 2000. Now I can't imagine my AG family without her. These are the outfits and accessories I have for her: Molly doll and book Molly's accessories Plaid Jumper and Blouse Bookbag and supplies Lunchbox Evergreen Velvet Dress Molly's Stocking Birthday Dress Party Treats Bennett Camp Uniform Camp Supplies Plaid suitcase Route 66 outfit Pajamas I want to get her new Polka Dot Outfit next.

I bought my first AG doll, Molly, in the summer of 2001. I had her sent to my aunt's home in Maryland and vividly remember the moment I opened the box with my daughter beside me. Her hair in braids, those beautiful grey eyes, rosy cheeks and softer lip colour. She was so lovely! She is on the chubby side but very huggable. She is also shorter than my other dolls. Her eyebrows are a very light brown. Molly's hair is a lighter brown and very fun to play with. Almost ten years later and her hair is still in great condition. Now technically she may be considered Mattel since I bought her in 2001, but because of her appearance, her meet outfit and other characteristics it leads me to believe that she had spent some time in the AG warehouse before she came to me. Her maroon-coloured box had a white label that said Made in China, Made in Hungary and Made in USA. Her meet outfit is labeled made in Hungary. She has PLEASANT COMPANY on the back of her neck along with the marking below her right ear. Her skin is very soft and squeezable and she has soft light brown lashes. She has no body tag and her body is chubby and a dark beige colour. The body fabric seems to be made from a tighter weave. I have trouble fitting her feet into the current AG shoes. They seem to be larger when I compare them to my other dolls. She came with the older glasses with the curved arms and they just don't sit very well on her face so she doesn't wear them much. I love her meet skirt which I like to match with other pieces and her little collar looks great under buttoned-up sweaters. Molly gets an A+ from me. Nia

My Molly is the most gorgeous doll I have ever seen! I give her an A+++! Not sure exactly of her year, but it is 88-90, and I purchased her as never removed from her original box. She has the squishiest vinyl, nice plump body, shorter neck strings, Pleasant Company neck stamp, no body tag, meet outfit tagged Made in Hungary, the original silver glasses with the curved ear pieces, and the most amazingly soft, beautiful coloring. Her hair is a bit lighter brown than the Mattel version, and the bangs are shorter. Mattel clothes are just a tad bit tight on her. I absolutely adore her, she is my favorite doll ever. She is the first PM doll that I have seen in person, and I am stunned by the difference in quality. Not that I think the Mattel dolls aren't great--I adore my Kit. But there is just a higher level of quality evident with the pre-Mattel dolls. Molly's meet outfit is very well made. Her sweater, skirt, and dickey are all in pristine condition and seem that they would hold up well to play. The silver glasses are a bit difficult to get on and off, but once on, they do not move. The ear pieces curve all the way around the back of the ear. Her hair is soft and silky, and very shiny. I have not removed it from the original braids. Her eyes are a lovely, soft shade of gray. She has a very sweet, innocent expression, and seems to look "younger" to me than the other AG dolls we own. Here are some pics of her in a couple of her favorite outfits

Here's my adorable PM Molly. I love this doll. She has so much personality and spunk. She has thick, long hair, a huggable body, long lashes, and a nice, round face. Some Mattel clothes and shoes are tight on her but otherwise A+.

Will add pictures later ...
My Molly was my first doll ever from AG, received in 1994 as a First Communion gift from my parents. I wanted her first because she had glasses like me and also we share the same birthday.
The doll has held up above average. Being she was my first, I played with her a lot, and was not as careful as I was with my dolls after Molly.
The pluses: - She has a soft huggable body - I love her hair plus eye colour combo - Her outfit felt very practical for her time period
The minuses: - Her hair has become really dry. I attempted to wash it once with baby shampoo, and it helped a little, but it is still very dry. - Her left eye has the awful silver eye. I am not sure when this happened, as I had Molly stored away while I was in high school and college. But I don't want to send her in, because I like her soft eyelashes. - Her shoes. Those awful thin vinyl Mary Janes. I think saddle shoes would have been better, and more age appropriate. - Her glasses. They never consistently stayed on her face, and I broke them some time ago. The shape of the ear piece just made it difficult to stick around her ear, especially with her hair in the braids. I have ordered the newer Mattel ones, as poor Molly has been going blind for over 10 years.
Otherwise, I love Molly, even if her stories were not my top favourites. Her raincoat and umbrella is my favourite outfit to put her in, as I just think it is so adorable.

I received my PM Molly from Ebay for $70 about a month ago and she was absalutely worth every penny. Her hair is a nice color that looks lovely in many styles and her eyes a pretty grey-blue shade. Some say she's not very pretty but I think she is positively adorable. Sometimes photos don't display her true beauty. Overall, Molly is a beautiful doll and I definitely recommend her to anyone who wants her.
A+

I found my Molly at the thrift store for $3 and in nearly perfect condition--she had all of her original outfit (including glasses & hair ribbons) and her braids were nearly pristine. Very pleased with that deal! I just wish I knew when she was from. She looks nearly the same in face mold/paint comparison as my AGOT from 2000. Her clothes are tagged 1986 and her neck is stamped with Pleasant Company.

This is my (PM) Tan-Bodied Molly. I'm not really sure of her age but I believe her to be somewhere between 1992 to 1994. She has softer vinyl than a Mattel doll but not quite as squishy as a white-body doll. Her hair is a lighter brown and her lashes are soft, brown and full. Her facial coloring is beautiful and she is chunkier than my Mattel dolls.

I actually have a pair of of PM Molly's with a tan body. One has her original wig the other does not as her original wig was in horrible condition she now has the closest RRG wig available. Maddy on the left has her original wig, Molly on the right does not. Molly (rewigged one) is chunkier than her counterpart. And I believe she was made around 1996 and the other 1997 or 98. Maddy the one on the left is taller than Molly (rewigged)

This beauty was my first doll, she was brought in 1991 but my cousin gave her to me in 1999. This might mean I am biased but I think Molly is a classic beauty. She has light skin and I have noticed it is lighter than my Mattel dolls with light skin; this might be because she doesn't have any make up but I don't mind that at all. The classic face mold does not bother me on her as she is one of the ‘classic’ dolls anyway. Her hair is long and light brown with the old style fringe and because her hair came in plaits I was not able to look after it at six when it was wavy this caused it to be dry and brittle so I recently straightened it. I actually prefer this look as it is more accurate to the books; her eyes are very pretty I love the grey colour and it is nothing like my McKenna’s blue eyes, though they both have the pinwheel eyes whch I like as I love diversity in my dolls. She has the line eyebrows but because of her fringe you can't see them. I do not like her glasses as they don't say on but I do like her to wear them as I wear glasses.
I like her meet outfit the quality (at least on the PM Version) is amazing, I love the sweater and skirt though the back of the jumper does get snagged easily, A lot of people say the dicky is bad quality as it isnt a shirt but then again it is accurate as they didn't have the material for them in those days, her bloomers are normal and I don't hate the shoes that much they still look cute. This doll is a vital for any AG collection, I give her an A+ I think she is very unique I love her eyes and her look in general. A+ for this beauty.
