I can't believe no one has reviewed this! I love this lunch, it has a high playability factor. I consists of: a red metal lunch box(I have the second version, does anyone have the first), a tiny PB&J sandwich, a stick of celery(you have to eat your vegetables), a carrot, and an oreo-type cookie. Love the detailing on this set. The handle closes with a tiny fastner, there is PB&J coming out of the sandwich, and there are little etching in the vegetables and the cookie. I will post pics as soon as I take them. I also want to add that I don't have the carrot, because my cousin stole it when I first got it!

I love this set also! it is soooo cute I recieved it as a stocking stuffer from "santa" years ago and it was the best stoking stuffer I have ever had (: I give it an A I would give it an A+ but I wish it would have come with another peice of food.

Molly’s food wasn’t fancy, but it sure tasted good—a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, a carrot stick, a piece of celery, a ripe pear, and a cookie for desert. You even get 10 practical paper napkins!"

Food sets are always a big hit around here. We have all of them.

Molly's is one of my favorites because it has that adorable little metal lunch box like I used to carry!

The food is so real looking. I love the mini peanut butter & jelly sandwich that Molly has. The oreo-like cookie is a bit big for her, but if it were scale sized, I'm sure we'd loose it too soon. The celery, carrots and pear are more scale.

The lunch box measures 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" by 1 1/2" deep.

The latch on the lunch box is pretty fragile, so I wouldn't recommend it be given to a young child to use. Over all Grade A

I love Molly's lunch, I think it's just adorable. This version came with 9 paper bags, 9 paper napkins, half a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, a pear, a carrot stick, a celery stick, and a cookie.



Amazingly, I still have all of the extra bags and napkins.



The sandwich was always my favorite part. It is made of some type of clay, not plastic, and looks very realistic. Here you can kind of see the texturing on the bread:

The crusts are even colored to look like real bread.



I couldn't get a close-up photo of the carrot and celery because they're too small, but they are textured to look real as well. The only piece that's a bit chintzy is the cookie; I think it's too big for scale.

The metal lunch box they sell now probably holds up better if being used by a child, but I think the mini paper bags are adorable.

Overall, I give this set an A+.

Just received my "free shipping order" that included the lunch. I had a lunch box just like this when I was a kid. The sandwich is cute, the napkins are great, but the glommed-together items are making me crazy. My grandchildren and I already made a pear, and separate carrot and celery sticks that look realistic so I may just make a cookie and put these away.
But I won't make an Oreo cookie - nobody I knew ever had store-bought cookies! Our mums made oatmeal, peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies.

This set makes much more sense to me since it has paper bags and they were even collecting bottle caps in the stories for the war effort. (But then they say the metal lunch box was a hand-me-down from Jill.) I love how everything is realistic, just miniaturized. This set gets an A!

I recently bought this set with the free shipping offer and decided to post some pictures of this version since there aren't any in this thread. Of course I would have preferred the version without the clumped-together food, but I guess the one good thing is the whole sandwich instead of just the half.
I'd give it a B.

Everything came sealed up. The set includes a red lunckbox; peanut butter and jelly sandwich; 2 celery and carrot sticks (clumped together); a pear and cookie (clumped together); and 10 paper napkins.

Like with Kit, I'm so glad I got the original version. I prefer NOT having the food clumped together. I love the detail on the sandwich. Again, I was young when I got this, and I loved it so much that I had my mom pack PB&J, carrot, celery, pear and cookie for lunch for me at school the next day!

VERSION II:

I got this for Christmas as a kid (along with a few of Molly's school things) and absolutely LOVED it! I still have all the original food; sooo glad this version isn't clumped-- ick, that would just look odd to me!
I did like the "brown bag lunch" idea, though, so my mom bought me some mini paper bags to put in it, as well.
(Since my Molly has a huge sweet tooth, she got a couple more plastic cookies from me: an oreo and a choc'chip, yummm!)

Does anyone know if Molly's Lunch was ever made out of a rubbery substance? I got some pieces that look very close to Molly's lunch and I don't know if they are authentic. My DD has Molly's lunch but it is made out of some type of clay. I looked in the review section, but no one mentioned any different "rubbery" food. I have the pear, half sandwich and the cookie. The are pretty much the same size as DD's. Any help would be appreciated.

My pieces are rubbery. The set was bought new from AG, but I don't remember what year. I know I was younger than 10.

I have the set that came with the paper bags and they are kind of rubbery. The older or original versions of the Kirsten and Molly's food are rubbery.

Actually the very first (prototype and 80's versions) are made from a hard clay. Some of my food pieces have actual finger prints in the clay were you can tell they were hand-formed. Later versions (with the paper bag and with the red lunch box) were made from rubbery-plastic.
