My first HHS doll. I never realized her size compared to the 18" girls, even though I knew she was 16" tall. Here's a picture of her compared to Samantha: Her body is hard plastic with string joints on her arms, legs and neck. She also has bendable elbows and knees. But you might want to make sure she has pants and long sleeves on as her joints are a bit strange looking: Her hair is a long, thick and curly wig. Her eyes are painted on and not so frightfully looking as I original thought they were going to be. Skylar's clothing consists of a long sleeved top with the words "Superstar" on the front, a reversible silver/black starred vest, and a long light blue skirt. She has white undies and silver sneakers. She is also supposed to come with two star shaped bobby pins and a silver bag with a journal inside, but we didn't receive these items with our second hand Skylar. All in all, she's much nicer in person than in the catalogue pictures (as is everyone) and the pose-ability of her arms, legs, and head make her a lot of fun to have around the house. Grade A

Wanted to add some photos of pretty Skylar. Love that dimple! I think there must not be many in-between opinons about these dolls. You either like them, or, not. Their posability made them a lot of fun for my daughter to play with when she was between the ages of 7-8, but she's since moved onto other dolls. Skylar was particularly fun because her hair was a little stiffer (not exactly textured like the AG AA doll wigs, but still, stiffer) and so it held styles better. The wig was not overwhelmingly thick like some Addy wigs, but not skimpy, either. Skylar got a B+ in our house, missing an A because we're not great fans of fixed or painted eyes (HSH dolls have painted eyes) in play dolls.

I have Skylar, who has since been renamed Stevie-Tate, and honestly she is one of my favorite dolls that I own! I have had her for almost 8 years. To be honest, after about a year or two of playing with her, she kind of got pushed aside. I received my last AG doll in 2006 and after about a year I lost interest in the dolls altogether (which makes me so sad to think about) so they got put in a box in my closet. Occasionally I would take them out and give them makeovers but I never really became interested again until about a year ago. That was when I took Stevie (Skylar) out of the box in my closet and gave her a complete makeover. I straightened her hair and trimmed it, redid her face paint, etc. She held up very well through all of these years of moving at least 5 times, being transferred into different boxes, etc. Although her limbs are very loose now, she still holds poses well and does not look at all abused (not that I purposely abused her!). The only problem is that I am somehow missing her long sleeved shirt that goes under her vest, as well as her little purse.
All in all, I think Skylar is a great doll, and I would give her an A. I will post pictures of my Stevie as soon as I can so you can see what she looks like with straightened hair
