I got Nicki last year. The doll herself is beautiful... sweet expression on her face, soft beautiful hair and the freckles... I'm a sucker for the freckles. The hair can get messy easily, but that can be expected of curly haired gals. She's also just as huggable as I expected. The outfit is alright. It's cute enough, but the shirt/bodysuit kinda bugs me. I would have preferred a real shirt that would fall just at her waist or a tiny bit past it... I like leaving shirts untucked, and that would have given me lots of possibilties for cute casual looks. And I am of course bothered by the lack of underwear. Really AG? It's just weird. I really love the boots though... the color is so neutral she can wear them with lots of fun outfits. The skirt is cute, but I would have liked it a little better if the belt wasn't attached.
I have had no problems with Nicki's hair. When it gets a little flat I just put it in curlers for an hour and it bounces right back. As for the bodysuit, it is a blouse/underwear in one. Its the sort of thing that doesn't require separate underwear because it *is* underwear. I have worn many in real life and they have always had a lined crotch (like nylons) that mean they are meant to be worn sans panties. However I do dislike the skirt, I feel it is too short and has this odd tendency to ride up on her torso.
Wow no one has wrote anything here for a while. Anyway, I got Nicki August 2007. She is a very pretty doll. I don't really like her meet outfit, but its okay. Nicki, after 2 years, is not in the best condition. I'm going to send her to the hospital soon. All in all, she is very pretty and I would recomd her to anyone who loves curly haired dolls.
Nicki is soooo cute! I love her and her meet outfit. you cannot tell too much in the picture, but her hair is incredibly frizzy! That is because I was being stupid and brushing her hair with a big plastic hair pick. I still like her though... I give her an A+

Nicki - A+ I love my Nicki doll. I have no regrets of buying her. I got mine on May 31 2007 and she was my first "new" doll (Samantha was first, but I found her at a FM) Nicki's hair is a very light brown color and is a..pain in the neck to take care of. My was completely frizzed, but I used the finger curl technique and it's fine right now. Her eyes are the regular shade of light blue and I love those freckles. Her meet outfit is fine, I rather don't care she has underwear and if it bothers you, just buy her a pair (I found her some) the blouse and boots are the only parts I use, but I hate that skirt. It's an ugly shade of blue and the texture of it just bugs me. Overall I highly recommend Nicki, even though her hair is a pain, she is a great doll, but not for an eight year old.

My Nicki's hair was very hard to take care of. I love her hair color though.
Hair color- A Hair style- B Caring for hair- B- ( kinda' hard to take care of, but I bet if I would of taken care of her a bit more, she'd be in better condition then she is now)
Face- A Eye color- A Meet Outfit- B+
Overall grade - B+ * if your thinking on getting Nicki, you should get her! If I hadn't gotten her in 2007, I would've been so upset! I thought she was so beautiful when she first came out, and knew I had to get her! She was my 2nd doll!
Nicki is a very cute doll! I give her an A-. Her hair is curly and very adorable, but can be a pain to keep looking nice. My doll has a thin wig, and the wig cap is starting to show through in places. She looks great in blue, it really makes her eyes pop.

A friend recently got Nicki and she is absolutely gorgeous! One of the prettiest dolls I've seen. Her hair is a lovely golden brown color, caramel. And her eyes aren't quite blue--they have a gray touch to them that makes me think "slate blue". (I compared her eyes w/ AGOT#7's and Nicki's are definitely grayer in tone.) Her freckles are to die for! The only nitpick I have is her wig seems a little thin on top and her hair is high-maintenance.
Meet Nicki and Vicki Fleming, who affectionately refer to themselves as the Sun Queens. Both were purchased January 2007 at AGPNY. I love the meet outfit- the shirt/bodysuit is very mix and matchable, as are the boot. I love the color and design on the skirt. The only complaint I have is that underwear is not included. GRADE: A-
I love Nicki's hair and eye color combination, but her wig has been trouble for me. I give the doll an A, but her wig a B.
I have Nicki I give her a B- the reason why is because I have brushed her hair not with the pick and she is almost bald! I am going to be re-wigging her soon. Her meet outfit is good and I give it a A.

After Nicki had been retired for over a year, I decided I really wanted her. I bought my Nicki from eBay in April 2009. Her hair was a bit messy. That was easily fixed.
I give Nicki a solid A. Her wig is actually very easy to deal with once you know how to do it. The easiest thing is to spritz her hair with water and curl it using sponge rollers. Leave them in at least 24 hours, take them out and just leave the curls as they are.
She's one of my favorite dolls.
These are actually two different Nickis.
I decided I must have Nicki a year or so after she retired. I bought the above Nicki on eBay.
I found this Nicki at a yard sale after I had already purchased the eBay Nicki.
I bought Nicki originally with the intention of stealing her wig for another doll. Once she arrived I fell in love. Absolutely beautiful. With some patience I got the frizzies under control and she looks like new although her wig may be a bit thin.
The freckles, the hair color and the curls; everything about her is adorable. I could see the curls being a pain to maintain for a little one but based on the eBay pictures I saw, Nicki is equally cute when her curls have relaxed into a wave.
I just have to throw in my two cents. I got Nicki when she first came out. She was my second doll after Emily. Her neck stamp says America Girl LLC. I think that's why she looks so different than some of the pics on here. She looks most like the MCM doll photo posted anyway she is gorgeous. After four years she is definetly a favorite. After having 15 dolls (gasp)at one time, her quality is fab. She's one of the tighest dolls I own. You can totally tell she's high quality and much nicer than some of the newbies.

There is something about Nicki that I like, i'm not sure what it is exactly but I know that I could never part with her. I genuinely love the country western feel her outfit and story brings to my collections, her sandy blond hair and blue eyes go so well with her outfit; its just amazing. Her light dusting of freckles are just so unique and different than Kits, or Lindsey's, they really make her look adorable. Its to bad I never got her when she first came out, I ended up paying $250 for her to be BNIB, ugh. Never again, from now on I'm going to purchase each GOTY just to be safe. Grade: A
There's about 39 photos of her there of mine. I rarely photograph her anymore since she's in really sad shape and I ought to send her to the doll hospital one of these days for a head replacement. I don't have the MyAG western outfit, sorry!

Thought I would add a couple pictures even though Nicki is pretty well covered in the posts above. Doesn't everyone love pictures?
I must have a good Nicki, because I haven't had the same trouble with her hair that others seem to have had. While her hair may be thinner than say Lanie's, I find it totally workable and it looks great. I've never had a problem with her curls. I just mist a section with water and work my fingers through to smooth it out while twisting the section around my finger. Sometimes, I might gently brush just the very ends around my finger to separate the strands at the ends.
To me, she definitely has a western feel to her look. Not just the clothes in her collection, but I genuinely like her best in denim and western style looks more than others. I really enjoy my Nicki and I give her an A-, with the minus only because the wig could be a tad thicker even though it still looks great.

I absolutely love my Lucy! (FKA Nicki)
I got her from a board member in June and I just love her to bits! Her hair is gorgeous and she just has the cutest face!
I actually love her meet outfit. I had extra undies anyways, so that wasn't a problem.
Here are some of my favorite pictures of Lucy!
My Photos:picasaweb.google.com/101934032493802621061 My dolls: *Addy*,Felicity, Samantha, April (#26), Lucy (aka Nicki)6/27/11, Cécile Tiana Amélie Rey, and Kanani both on 8/30/11, Selina(aka Jess)4/23/12, and Sovay Middleton[custom]
Nicki is probably my favorite doll. (Shhhh...don't tell the others )
Hair: Her wig is very thin. So thin, in fact, that you can see it when she is just standing there. She has a bald patch that is obvious if you put her hair in certain styles. Her hair has also gotten very dry, and has lost most of its curl. The curl loss is probably due to my using the wire hairbrush instead of the hair pick...whoops. Her hair came to me relatively dry, but has just gotten worse over the years. I have tried to re-curl her hair with sponge curlers, but it only curled the front parts, so the back of her head is more wavy now. Her hair is a beautiful caramel color, and I think it works well with her face and such . It looks like it is different colors in certain areas...like a lighter blond on the top of her head, and closer to brown in parts lower down or under other pieces of hair. Really nice. I'll give her hair a solid B, because of the dryness and curl problems.
Meet Outfit: It doesn't bother me that the blouse is a blouse and underwear bodysuit kind of thing. I can see how it would bother others, though, the problem being that you can't un-tuck the blouse and that there are no separate undies. Personally, I like having the blouse tucked, and the underwear problem was easy enough to fix. The bodysuit thing is really pretty; I actually had the girl sized version for a while, and would wear it to school and around. So, B+ for the bodysuit thing. (I would have given it an A, but since the underwear thing might bother others, I decided to give it the B+.) The skirt is really nice. I like the color, and I think the embroidery is very well done. I don't mind that the belt is attached. I think I might have lost it if it wasn't, or obsessed over getting it tied right. Having it sewn on just makes it easier. However, my skirt is a little tight around the waist. It also rides up, and then seems extremely short. I think I'll give the skirt a solid A, because aside from the tightness and the shortness, it feels like a quality item. The boots are VERY cute. Mine aren't hard to get on, but they take a little tugging sometimes. They have a lot of mix and match potential, and feel well made. I would have liked to get a pair of socks, it's true, but that was also a problem that was easy enough to solve. A for the boots. The pieces of the outfit are all very nice, and look nice together. However, there were only 3 items, which for the price at the time ($87, I believe) seems a little outrageous. It would have been better if they had included some socks or undies. So, all things considered, I'll give the meet outfit a solid A. Doll: I got my Nicki in July of 2007. My doll has no apparent mutations, and is actually extremely cute. I'm a sucker for freckles, and Nicki's are adorable. I think that they match the color of her hair, if that makes sense. My Nicki has beautiful coloring; rosy cheeks and pretty pink lips. Her limbs are tight, but not to tight, and her body is very soft and squishy. She is noticeably squishy; my Molly is this way as well, and I got her around the same time (In July of '07 as well). She is not so squishy that I can bend her over all the way, but she is close. It is this way with my Molly as well. Does anyone else have a doll like this? It doesn't concern me, but I would just like to know. So, with all of this taken into account, I will give the doll an A+. Nicki is a really gorgeous doll, and if you are thinking about getting her, I would say don't hesitate . Even though she has been retired so long, and she seems to have hit or miss hair. She is a really great doll .
Everybody likes pictures, right? I just thought that maybe I'd add one of my own.
My dolls: Molly McIntire, Emily Bennett, Nicki Fleming, Laughing Spirit (Kaya), Dani Nakamura-Olsen (JLY #30), Lilly Hyde (JLY #55), Deirdre Downs (Carpatina Erin), Jacalyn Day and Madalyn Lurn (Bitty Babies)
I was not even looking at Nicki, but saw one recently when I was in process of buying Jess. And I ended up unexpectedly falling in love with her. And I never thought I would like a freckled doll.
To go along with previous reviews, Marina (fka Nicki), depending on how her hair falls, does partly show her wig cap. It is not blatantly visible, but goes in line with what has been said about her thin wig. She was well taken care of by the previous owner (a child, now teenager), so her hair was just a bit tangled, but not dry. I bought a hair pick for Leah (fka Rebecca), and it has been just a blessing for me in dealing with curly wigs. Her hair is now in banana curls.
Her meet outfit is ok, again due to the same reasons other have mentioned. Since it was also mentioned, Marina is stamped with Pleasant Company, so she must have been purchased early on I am guessing.
Anyway, now for pics. I will add more pictures at a later date of Marina in non-Nicki outfits.
And a side by side with Alex (fka Marie-Grace) for hair colour comparison:
