Once again, I'll start by reviewing the box. Well, the box this time is pink, not burgundy, and this one wasn't crushed, so I'll go with
A+. Shine on, you crazy box, shine on!
When we last left our reviewee, Goo had not felt like opening it to take pics for this review, so it languished unopened for half the day before Goo finally got up the gumption to do it. Here it is, all safe and snug inside of the box.
The shirt, Which really does button up, for those of you who were wondering. However, like most everyone
except AG, I didn't use that feature. But we're getting ahead of ourselves. The bottom has long tails for the tyin'. Imagine that! I actually really love the colors on this. The mixture of gray and different shades of pink was really striking. The pockets are fake, just flaps where they would go, so meh on those, but yay for buttons!
AThe tank-top. Am I the only one who thinks this looks less like a tank top and more like a camisole? Especially since it has the thin straps and the lace at the top, similar to the camisols in AG's cami & brief set.
Some detail of the lace at the top.
Claire wearing just the top (pardon her hair, I don't brush it until I'm finished dressing her). I'm pretty meh about this overall, because you don't really see it (unless you leave the shirt open like I did), but it still gives me this odd exposed underwear feeling. That, and with mine at least, the front is much longer than the back, so the front seems like it should be tucked in, but you can't stuck in the back.
C+Shorts! Cute, fun, stylish! Actually, they suffer the same "velcro fly is too short" problem as the Sparkly Sport outfit that makes them a bit hard to get on. The pockets aren't real, but more realistic than on the top, at least. So, what's the problem?
BUNCHING!BUNCHING! AG sure does like that bunching! Again, the same problem I had with the Sparkly Sport outfit's shirt: weird elastic bunching. This isn't as annoying, since it doesn't make the shorts any shorter, but it does make them flare out in a weird way.
B. Lose the bunching and we'll talk.
The sandals! These are a kind of burgundy color, with "cork" soles, and they are just adorable. And, as an added bonus...
THEY FIT! I've been having
such a hard time getting AG's shoes to fit lately, that this was a pleasant surprise. Okay, so one of them doesn't fit as well as the other, and they're annoying to actually get on. But they're cute, and they don't fall off!
A-The ribbon belt, a.k.a. "how Goo impressed himself by realizing he knows how to put on a ribbon belt". The design on it is a cartoonish flower and butterfly pattern, which is pretty cute, and coordinates with both the top and the shorts very well.
B+Why did the hanger come in a plastic bag this time around? I've never seen this before...
Claire models the entire thing! I actually really love this outfit, for all of its weird flaws. I think it looks awesome on her, I love the colors and the style, and it's very well-made (especially the shoes). I give it an
A overall.
And for those of you who can't get enough of Claire being not!Nicki (or were just wondering how the hat looks with the outfit), here's Claire wearing the hat as well.
ETA:
Here's the outfit with the buttom button done up. I think it looks better this way. The collar goes practically into her face if you do up any more than that, and it looks like this is what they did in the catalog pics, too.
By request (elsewhere), here's the most accurate picture of the colors on the outfit, so you can see how the gray stands out in the shirt and how the belt only has pink accents.
