The Angelina Ballerina Mouse Doll is adorable! Her fur is a soft velour and her arms and legs swivel 360 degrees. Her tail is posable, and her dancing slippers and hair bow are sewn on to prevent the kiddies from losing them.
When I was a child, I had an Angelina Mouse, but it was no where near the quality of this one. The cheaper Angelina mice available at Target are crap compared to the AG ones...I wish these were still available so that I could get Alice too!
Here is Angelina sitting with some of her accessories:
I believe originally Angelina came with a hardback "Angelina Ballerina" book that is still available at book stores, but the set was $24.94 from AG. We bought the Starter Set from American Girl, which came in a nice storage box filled with several books, outfits, and the Angelina Mouse doll.
I give Angelina an A+! I love this little mouse and I wish her collection was still available.
We have a bunch and none of them had Katharine Holabird's author's list in the frontispiece. So, here's what I know is available (I've seen a lot still at Barnes and Noble):
Angelina Ballerina Angelina & Henry Angelina & Alice (my favorite!) Angelina's Baby Sister (my other favorite!) Angelina's Christmas (very sweet!) Angelina Ice Skates Angelina's Invitation to the Ball Angelina and the Princess Angelina on Stage
These were all published by Pleasant Company.
Angelina at the Palace was published by Viking.
These all have Helen Craig's incomparable watercolor illustrations, which make me swoon with their soft and creamy dreaminess.
There are more based upon the videos but I haven't any idea where they've disappeared to and they are definitely post Pleasant Company and were timed to coincide with the introduction of the Target versions of the dolls. (Which I simply can't stand. Cheap and silly with horrible illustrations based upon the garish coloring of the videos. Seriously icky.)
If you find any more titles published by Pleasant Company, I would love to know!!!!
I remember reading the Angelina Ballerina books when I was in grade school ( a few years ago!)
The illustrations were adorable and the doll put out by AG is just as sweet. I love the fold-out rooms and furniture you could buy with it. If they had been available when I was young, my dreams would have come true!
I have all the Angelina Ballerina books. I had her little sister, Alice, her doll, her house, and of course her! I loved them so much, especially since my DG (grandma) gave them to me before she passed away. I'm sure my Angelina is downstairs somewhere. Now, I think I might have to read her Christmas book.
P.S. You forgot Angelina at the Fair!

I have Angelina Ballerina and Alice too. (Since there's no thread for Alice I'll just talk about both of them here.) They're both adorable and they're nice mice friends for my dolls. I just equate it to Stuart Little from the E. B. White books. I have just about all the outfits AG made for them and I wish they'd kept it longer. My favorite outfits were both sets of pajamas, the gymnastics outfit, Alice's meet outfit, the princess outfit, the coat and the camping outfit. I made several outfits for them too since AG didn't make many. I have photos of Alice and Angelina on my Flickr: www.flickr.com/americangirl728

Adult's opinion: This doll it totally adorable. She's bigger than I thought she'd be and I was delighted to see her arms and legs are jointed and her tail bends. Her outfit looks a little hard to get on and off for a small child but other than that I think she looks great. I'll come back with a 3 year old's opinion in December.
ETA: Angelina is a big hit with 3 YO girl. I forsee the tutu getting lost really quickly because it came off right away... then back on a few minutes later and then back off and repeat. She's a good size for cuddling with and the posable legs are a lot of fun. My sister-in-law said SHE would have loved Angelina when she was a little girl, which I figured she would. I sort of got Angelina for her as well as her daughter. I think Angelina is a great companion for 3+ but keep the clothes in a safe place.

I got the entire collection brand new when it first came out from PC. I was 17 and I loved it. I still have everything in boxes. The large playhouse story book is a bit ruined now and I am sad about that but it is a darling collection.
