B:
If it hadn’t been for one significant deterrent, I would’ve purchased this set shortly after its release and given it an A. However, the attached overalls/t-shirt combination nearly prevented this purchase all-together. Even though I would have definitely preferred separate pieces, I don’t regret getting this set. It has quickly become one of my son’s favorite Bitty outfits.
The set contains: overalls with a faux-layered tee, baseball cap, sandals, and activity book.
Overalls/tee: While the outfit looks cute on the bitty dolls, I’m disappointed that the overalls and tee are attached. The attached pieces really subtract from the set’s versatility, play value, and mix-and-match potential. Also, since the outfit lacks true straps, the back looks quite plain and boxy. That being said, I do like the colors, decorative buttons, and style (especially for Bitty Baby). It seems like a nice, classic piece.
The outfit fits quite well on the Bitty dolls, but is wedgie-inducing on the 18” dolls.
Baseball Cap: The baseball cap looks fairly age appropriate and fits well on Bitty’s head. I could do without the blue leopard print, but understand how it helps tie the jungle outfits together.
Sandals: The brown sandals are classic, fairly well made, and fit well on the Bitty dolls. While the shoes also fit the 18” dolls, they fall off quite easily. I do wish that they had straps to help keep them on the doll’s feet.
Book: The Animal Safari Activity “book” is a bit of a deviation from the norm. It contains cardboard animals for your child to share with their doll(s). They don’t look overly durable, but my son hasn’t removed his from the package yet.
