I purchased this for $10.00 at AGB-ATL on 7/14/10.
It was a surprise for my daughter who was not able to make the trip with me.
She loves to play "salon" with her dolls and had received a set of toenail polish stickers earlier with a doll salon visit.
As an adult, I'm not that impressed. For $10.00 you get four sets of toenail stickers and four sets of fingernail stickers, three punch out "nail files" of semi-sturdy cardboard and a little mirrored compact carrying case. The stickers are teeny-tiny and almost impossible to place. And while they claim to be reusable, the sticky doesn't last long on these. I think we will have to get her dad to put the fingernail stickers on with tweezers and a magnifying glass.
HOWEVER, as a child in the target age range, E thinks this is great! She immediately decorated Molly's toenails and each of the girls got a "manicure" last night. She pretended the files were also nail polish bottles and "painted" other nails as well.
One of the interesting things for me as a parent is to compare E's play with my memory of play at her age. (take the following with a large grain of salt, we are talking about my memory after all.) I think I would have enjoyed this set at her age, but I would have been frustrated trying to line up the stickers and upset that the set would be depleted. E is much less concerned with these things. She placed the stickers to the best of her ability and was quite happy. She has only used one set, but has pointed out that we might be able to get more stickers from our PS and if not, she will put something else in the compact and still use the nail files.
I can recommend this for a child who enjoys this type of "salon" play.
