Yeah, that's one of the things that turned me off from the outfit. The quints really wanted it because it's so "princessy", but after seeing it in person I thought the tiara looked really bad and the dress wasn't as nice as I'd thought, either. Not for that much money.

Snowflake Ball Gown for Dolls + Charm Item# G2218 $36
She’ll be the belle of the ball in this elegant outfit, featuring:
* A fancy ball gown with double-ribbon accents on the velour bodice and sequined snowflake embroidery on the tulle skirt * Elbow-length gloves, plus deep-blue shoes for dancing * A silver tiara to add a touch of sparkle * A “Proud” heart charm for the doll’s charm-keeper necklace
This dress is absolutely beautiful! The color is more blue-violet than seems to come across in most photos. The gems in the tiara are purple.
I love how fancy this dress looks and it makes any doll look beautiful. I didn't have any trouble with the tiara fitting. Grade A+ from me.

We love this dress!
The colour is lovely and it looks great on both Julie and Elizabeth.
The tiara is a bit of a pain- our also doesn't lie flat. I've noticed that all of the AG pictures with the tiara seem to show an up-do, so the problem might be that we're trying to stick it flat on top of the head. Still, it's beautiful.
The shoes are also nice, just hard to get on over stockings. (who wears a fancy dress in the dead of winter with bare legs

update: After being played with gently for 2 months (not continuously, of course- occasionally being put on the doll), the elastic in the back of one of the shoes is fraying. I guess the shoes really are too tight- but my daughter is very disappointed.

This gown is gorgeous! I love the detail at the sleeves and the snowflake designs. The shoes are really cute, but a little tighter than most of the other shoes I have. The glovers are stretchy and very easy to use. The tiara is a pain and hard to get on right. I'll have to try an updo like AGR. The comb part is flat so it doesn't work very well with the contours of the doll's head.
I know others have mentioned that this gown looks more purple than blue, but to me it's all blue.
When InnerstarU allowed us a sneak peak of this outfit on the doll avatars last summer, my daughter and I were excited to see the real thing.
We weren't disappointed when it finally debuted! Love the color (it's a very true blue to me), the embroidery, the shoes, the gloves. I have to admit that we never took the tiara out of its plastic the first year, but eventually it made its way onto a doll head:
This is a wonderfully fancy outfit that I know we'll enjoy pulling out every year for the holidays. Definitely an A grade at our house!

I love the dress, but I have to give the set an A-. The dress is absolutely GORGEOUS on my #28, Natalie, and so are the shoes. The dress and shoes are very easy to use, but I had trouble with the gloves and the tiara broke. So I just don't use them, because the dress is simply beautiful on its own.

Much to my delight and surprise, my best friend (who isn't a doll person) sent me this dress for Christmas. She said she found it at a yard sale. It didn't come with the shoes, tiara, or gloves, but the dress is more than enough. Even when it came out, I thought this was one of the prettiest formal holiday dresses AG ever made. I believe that even more now that I've seen it in person. I love the unique, rich blue-violet color, the very soft velvet, and the poofy skirt (I'm a sucker for poofy skirts). Well worth picking up for any modern doll who needs a winter formal and would look good in deep blues and/or purples.
