This set was released in 2009 and retired in 2013.
This lemon-yellow kitchen table is just right for Mom’s apartment. Bold colors were popular in Julie’s day—this set has two matching swivel chairs with turquoise seat pads to brighten up the room.
I just recieved them as part of my "Christmas haul" a couple of days ago. I checked them over thoroughly and I am so pleased! They are made of a durable material and the yellow color is so period appropriate (yes, I was around in 1974 lol). The chair seats swivel and the table is extremely sturdy. I leaned Julie against the table and not only did it not move but it seemed height appropriate for a ten year old. Even my DH was impressed with the quality and durability!
I could not find the answer online or in the catalog as to what the table and chairs are made from so....I called AG. I spoke with CS rep Linda who looked up the answer. The table and chairs are mad from metal and plastic and the seat pads are made from vinyl. The plastic is heavy duty. I would totally recommend this set!

I, too, love this set! It is plastic, but a very very hard plastic that really does mimic the original furniture of this design (which we had in our home when I was a kid as I am the same age as Julie!). The dolls slide a bit, but stay when posed or pushed up to the table pretty much like they do with most of the other AG tables & chairs. Sorry no pictures - we're moving so it's packed .

I have this set and love it. I know everyone hates plastic, but overall it's not bad. The plastic is heavy and sturdy. I love it because this was my era and we had a dinette set similar to this in the bright yellow color. I use it in my cafeteria scene for my dolls' school.

I think the set is very cute and reflects the period. Plastic and vinyl are totally appropriate materials for the time so that doesn't bother me.

As others have mentioned, this set is much, much sturdier than it looks/you might expect.
I don't know why I had half expected to find the table was 'hollow' underneath but it isn't, nor are the 'feet' of table or chairs.
The set isn't dreadfully heavy, but it's definitely heavy/solid enough. The poles on both table and chairs are metal.
The seat 'cushions' are solid vinyl. Yes, I would have preferred them to be padded fabric but I can deal with them as is. The chairs swivel smoothly and the dolls can sit quite well in them, I think.
I really like this set! It is nicely made and I think the design is period-appropriate. Definitely A.

A friend of mine has this. I think it's very cute and is perfectly era appropriate. The bright yellow is very cheery.
