Here is a picture of Felicity wearing Elizabeth's Meet dress. I don't care for it on Elizabeth, but I like it quite well on Felicity (as long as I don't give too much thought to shimmery bright pink gowns in Colonial days).

*This meet outfit was worn by Elizabeth in the book Very Funny Elizabeth! and in the DVD Felicity: An American Girl Adventure*I just thought I'd post this in case someone is on the fence about Elizabeth, though I know she isn't so popular because of the way AG changed her. Elizabeth doll $87.00 XDP (doll with paperback book) Overall rating: A Elizabeth is a gorgeous doll, IMO. Her eyes, face coloring, hair, and clothes are very beautiful, though I wished AG hadn't copied Felicity's Christmas Dress and GOML Cécile's dress for her meet gown. Her pin curls do get messed up easily but are able to be fixed. I liked her book, then again, I am not too critical on AG books. It showed how shy "Bitsy" became a clever prankster. I bring out that quality quite a bit more in my doll- I remember that I disliked how snooty Elizabeth seemed because of her being a Loyalist and Felicity a Patriot, but I understand this was to make a better plot. I myself have a shy side and an outgoing side, so Elizabeth is alot like me. But I'm straying off topic. Elizabeth's earrings are difficult to get out, so I don't change them frequently. I have let down her hair once but was really afraid that it might crush her pincurls so did the hairstyle again. It's a really neat hairstyle! In closing, I really treasure my Elizabeth doll. She makes a great Today girl- in fact, she is basically my Today girl and travels into colonial days since I have only three colonial dresses for her. I think some people have made their Lizzies into modern day girls. I'd highly recommend Elizabeth- if you can forgive AG for changing her. I did- at first I was angry, but beautiful pictures convinced me I had to have her. HTH! mod edit to remove broken image links

This is a pretty doll, if your not looking at her differences from the book. Her hair is a lovely shade of blonde. I am not as fond of the Josefina face mold on her, although I don't dislike it. I found her original dress very tacky and lowish quality. I don't have it and I don't care.

Her shoulders are much broader than the other dolls, that's for sure.

I got Elizabeth a while ago, and she is one of my favorite dolls. Her hair is silky smooth, and reaches all the way down her back. It's easy to mess up the little curls, so I've had to be really carefull with those. Her dress is lovely, and her shift, which comes under her dress, is much nicer than Felicity's shift, which had elastic in it. Elizabeth is a great doll, and is a must for any AG fan.

Elizabeth is my favorite, too. I honestly love everything about her. I think the thing I love the most about her is her hair. It is so long and smooth; you can style it into pretty much any design! I don't have any really good pictures of her (yet). Her curls are - cough - history. I was getting sick of being so careful everytime I brushed her hair. So, I took care of them (brushed them out). Elizabeth is absolutely beautiful. Her hair is very easy to style- and the waves add a very nice touch that make her different from other blonde dolls. The earrings are absolutely beautiful and have not fallen off. The "Meet" dress seems a bit fancy for everyday wear. The shift is a good length. The socks are better than the ones PM Felicity came with back in 1998. The shoes are absolutely beautiful and work well with her Meet dress. I like the fact that they used the second face mold for Elizabeth- adds some variety.

Elizabeth Doll Grade: A overall. (A- for hair) Pro's: Elizabeth is so pretty in person. She has a beautiful, unique look/ Con's: Her hair is very long so it is a bit difficult to take care of. Detailed Review: Even though I told myself I would NEVER get this blonde Elizabeth "imposter", I ended up walking out of American Girl Place Chicago with her in hand. : She is a beautiful doll and I have not regretted buying her even once! She looks beautiful as a today girl especially! The Horse Lover outfit and Sightseeing Outfit look stunning on her! Her earrings are sweet and shiny and plain so they look great with any outfit. The outfit was nicely made. I loved all of the pieces of it and have nothing negative to say about any of them! I just loved them! The dress is so lovely in person, the socks are great as are the shoes, shift, and hair ribbon.. I love Elizabeth!

Elizabeth is probably one of the most photogenic dolls I have seen from ag. She really is a pretty doll. My dd has her and I have Felicity. Being only 6, she loves her Elizabeth especially for her blond hair and pink dress (lol - the two things people get most upset about). Her dress is a little bizarre considering her historic significance, but it works. And does appeal to my younger dd, as I said. Her hair can be difficult... the length and slight dryness makes it very tangled and comes out when brushed. Having said all that - she is gorgeous. A very pretty and fun doll to play with and display. I give her an A- (only because the hair is rather dry and difficult)

I picked Georgina (my Elizabeth doll, turned into an original historical) out in person at a local independent AG shop since I'd heard about the issues she has with green ear. I highly recommend you do this if you can since AG's obviously been having quality control issues and I think Elizabeth would be a doll affected by it just by nature of her pierced ears and face mold.
I can't exactly tell from some of the photos here, but it also appears some Elizabeths have flat blue eyes (like PM Kirstens) and others, like mine, have blue detail in the eyes that make them look more realistic; that might be worth checking out as well. I had to go though five or six dolls to find the perfect one. I removed her earrings immediately upon getting her; I don't want to risk her getting green ear. I also brushed out her pincurls.
I can understand why some people dislike the doll Elizabeth since she doesn't resemble the original Elizabeth at all, but I think she's beautiful. Her face has a lovely, serene, and gentle quality that I really don't get from any other AG doll I've seen.
If you're going to use her meet outfit, Felicity's undergarments are essential for her. (They're essential for a colonial doll anyway, I think.) The hoops make the dress look properly full around the hips. I use the meet outfit as her Christmas dress since it resembles Felicity's christmas dress so much. She also looks really pretty in Felicity's spring and summer gowns and meet dress, if you don't like the outfits AG offers for her. Her wig is thick and pretty with a little wave in it, easy to style; she's not nearly as platnum blonde as she looks in some pictures.

I love Elizabeth. Her era has always been my absolute favorite, and the fact that she's English made me love her even more! (I'm a bit of an anglophile) I went to AGPNY with the intention of getting Felicity only, and a few outfits, but I got Elizabeth instead of outfits. I don't regret it at all. My friend Sarah has Elizabeth, Kit, Molly (PM, I think), and a few others, and before I'd left, she'd gone to my birthday party. She brought her dolls (well, actually, we all went to her house to bring the dolls over-- she lived a little down the street) and I noticed that her Elizabeth's side-curls were gone. Sarah said that she'd accidentally brushed them out because... well, they got in the way. So, I also got a brush, and brushed out the curls (I don't regret it.). Grading: Meet Outfit: A (A+ if it'd been light blue, a stunning color on her) Hair: A (taking away the sidecurls) Face: A+ Overall: A+ She's a beautiful doll and you can't go wrong with her! Another picture: Edit (15 September): More pictures!

I received Elizabeth as a surprise gift for my birthday in May 2008! Her hair is somewhat silky and seems really thick, although I haven't taken it out of its original pony tail.
Her dress is a bit thin, which is disappointing but something I'll get over. It's not the greatest shade of pink IMO, but it looks okay on her. Mine is staying as Felicity's friend because even though I read the books, I was never set on a brunette Elizabeth (in fact, didn't even remember it until it was brought up here, lol)
She is pictured with Josefina because all the pictures of her by herself are really blurry, for some reason I have yet to discover.

Elizabeth's hair probably has the most realistic feel out of all my dolls. She is definately my most beautiful. I messed up her original hairstyle, but she looks great in a ponytail. Her tea lesson gown looks so beautiful on her. AG should have made that be her meet dress. I'm going to buy Felicity's new red dress for her, Because it would suit her better I think.

This doll is absolutely beautiful. I bought her yesterday at the American Girl Place; I had to have her! :-) She's beautiful and her face is elegant. I will say, she has a sweet and mature look to her face and she looks at least a few years older than my Sam doll. Her hair is long and luxurious; the only complaint I have is that it seems to come out easily. She's amazing! Pictures to come soon.

My Elizabeth came new out of her box (Christmas 2008) from American Girl with a green ear. You can see the tarnish on that earring and not on the other one nor on the other pair that came with her meet accessories. I've coated her earring with clear nail polish and I'm soaking her earring hole (inside and out) with Oxy10. I'm hoping that will clean off the green. Aside from the green ear, she's beautiful. I love the elegance of her blond hair with blue eyes. I did read the original books, but the beauty of this doll they made to be Elizabeth is exquisite. Her pin curls are adorable and her hair texture is lovely and very easy to style. She's a grade A doll to me.

I think Elizabeth is stunning. I love her hair (but am too chicken yet to take it out of the original style, though that will happen and the pincurls will probably meet with extinction by hairbrush too) and everything about her. I opened her box with not a little trepidation after reading some members accounts of receiving less than perfect dolls recently, but she is just perfect, beautiful... and no green ear either. I will coat her earrings as AGR mentions, and hopefully avoid future trouble though. Thanks for that tip!
I've noticed she stands better/has better balance than some of my other AGs and her arms have a greater range of movement (and stay put) better. I don't much like her meet dress although the soft lace is pretty. It can be a 'princess' dress for dolly dress-ups.
I don't like that her shift has velcro... shouldn't it be drawstring/elastic at the neck like Felicity's? The only other thing I can think of to add to what has already been noted about her meet outfit, is that she has stockings but no garters! Neither shift nor garter-less stockings particularly matter to me, since my Elizabeth is to be a modern girl but I thought it worth mentioning.
A-to-the-power-of-some-ginormous-number. I wasn't happy that they deviated from the book either, but it has to be said, Mattel has made one utterly gorgeous doll.
Edited to add a photo or two: [photos removed to be replaced once I find a new hosting site]

Elizabeth is far and away DD's favorite doll. She has read all the books, but she has only has the newer copies, so she never saw the original illustrations. Would not have mattered anyway-she prefers blonde and blue-eyed. While her meet gown may not be exactly historically correct, it definately pleased DD. Despite it not being the heaviest material, I think it is pretty myself, and the lace trim is really nice. My biggest complaint is those pin curls-hard to keep them nice-and hard to re-curl. Elizabeth herself I think is probably the prettiest of the AG dolls (won't even bother to ask DD's opinion -no contest!). A+

I love love love Elizabeth. She is gorgeous! She looks so gentle and kind. I only have a few things to add to the great reviews so far, but I do have some pictures! I have to say I didn't hate her meet dress as much as i thought I would. I think its rather pretty, though it is definately (IMO) too short. It is just above Elizabeth's ankle. The lace on the sleeves is softer and more of an antique white than it looks in the pictures and I think prettier. Here is a closeup of the fabric print on the front of her dress: And, since I wished there were pictures of this before I bought Elizabeth, here is a closeup of the earings she comes with and her pincurls. As for Elizabeth's wig, I was very surprised to find it had what looked like mesh panels sewn to the standard looking wig cap. Those mesh side panels were not glued down. after posting about this on the board, many members have told me this is normal for Elizabeth. I thought I would post this here so hopefully other people who just recieve her won't worry. I purchased Elizabeth directly from AG and her hair, while incredibly beautiful, does feel just slightly dry at the ends. I know she has the light blue eyes, and when she is standing next to my Emily it's clear they are the same color. However, when you look at Elizabeth by herself, in my opinion her eyes look darker than the standard light blue color: Lastly, I thought I would show what her shift/socks/shoes look like under her dress Her socks go up pretty high, mid thigh or so, but poor Elizabeth is too modest to show a picture of that! LOL! Mod edit to resize images and remove broken image links

My daughter was undecided on her first doll. She wanted Elizabeth because she shares her name. She wanted Mia because she is a LE and shares her puppy's name. And she wanted the JLY doll that most resembled her. She told me that I could surprise her with any of these and she would be happy. Wow, it was a tough decision for me! I finally decided on Elizabeth because she shared her name and home state of Virginia. I have not regretted this at all! She is stunning. I had never seen a doll in person and when I opened her box she really took my breath away. She has the sweetest face and gorgeous hair. My daughter thinks I made the right choice, too. Elizabeth is great for almost any time period and we usually dress her in more modern clothing. She looks adorable in pigtails! Her hair is very long and thick and does get tangled quite a bit. It can be time consuming to comb it out and she does lose hair. We try to keep her hair pulled back to avoid having to do this. We are thrilled that Elizabeth has joined our family and we give her an A+. Her only drawback in my opinion is her long, thick hair. However, that is also one of her best features.

Elizabeth is a beautiful doll! I give her and her meet outfit an A+! I wasn't too sure, since I know and love the original brown hair and eyes illustrations of Elizabeth. But once I saw this girl in person, I fell in love with her! Her blond hair is long and gorgeous, and has a little wave. Her pin curls are adorable, but you have to be careful with them. Her blue eyes are very pretty. Her meet dress is stunning, I love it! Her earrings are great. Since I didn't get her accessories, I use her lappet cap from her nightgown, and it looks very nice!

Elizabeth gets an A+ from me based on sheer beauty. I do not like her meet dress, however, and much prefer her in Felicity's traveling gown.
Elizabeth has glorious hair that is fun to style.

Elizabeth is stunning. She was given to me for Christmas 2009 by my sister. She's so photogenic and looks so innocent and sweet. Her hair is a pretty colour and I love her little curls. I give her an A+! There's nothing I would change about her. Here are some of my favourite photos of Elizabeth.

I got my Elizabeth on Valentines Day. What a beautiful doll. A+ Everything works here; her hair, eye and skin color are completely in harmony with one another. They work in other words. I waited to get her and she was worth the wait. Once I get the dress and apron done I'll reveal her to everyone. She's my cousin Anna from the Kirsten series.
