I bought this today at the MOA store & it is really nice. It is made out of sturdy wood. Measurements: 20"/50.5cm tall; 18.5"/47cm wide; 4"/10cm deep Album link: picasaweb.google.com/HolleyMN/DollDisplayCase#The back does not have a hanger. DH thinks he can put some one, the ones with teeth. The books fit in front of the dolls. More can fit in the huggy pose. The 12 stands do come with the self & they are plastic, but work well. The stands hold their legs vs holding at the waist. My DD discovered the stands hold Sari up also (Sari can also wear mini clothes over her clothes). I think they did not add a hanger because it could get heavy hanging on a wall. mod edit to combine double posts

The stands have 2 contoured clear plastic pieces for the dolls' legs to fit into, about the height of a mini doll's knees, sitting on a white plastic circular base. I think they look like a pretty good design, and the dolls are definitely stable when fitted into them. The price seems reasonable to me, if one wanted a place to display mini dolls, 25th anniversary or other.

I have it sitting on my nightstand!! I love it and it works great. Am considering getting a second one for all the rest of my minis.
Well made, attractive, sturdy piece that stands well.
For the sale price it is a no-brainer if you are interested in having a display.
You get 12 stands in addition to the case - so I think the price of $38 is very attractive.
PS - It was on sale once before and that is when I bought mine.

The only negative I've heard is that people wish it could hang and not just sit somewhere. I have some of the holiday minis but I don't care for the shelf. I just like to pose my minis doing things around the house instead.

I bought the shelf and like it except for the fact that is doesn't hang on the wall. I'm sure it could be easily modified. The doll stands that come with it are great and hold the dolls very securely.

I got the shelf for Christmas and it is so beautiful! Well worth the price in my opinion. I have a lot of my regular minis on it since I did not buy all the holiday ones. The ovals do not indent. I wish they were not there but honestly they are pretty easy to cover up. I can hardly see mine with the minis on the shelf which I find strange. I don't plan on using the stickers since about half of my minis are anniversary dolls and the others are not.
Photos using it for things other than the mini dolls, by request:
I think it looks good with larger/taller accessories actually. Clara is not in any stand, I was pleasantly surprised she stood up on her own. I am not sure about putting shoes in it. I almost think you would need to fashion a couple more shelving pieces in between for it to look nice with shoes.

Just wanted to add to this review. winter2007 brought to our attention in another thread that the mini doll stands had damaged the legs of her dolls. After reading her post, I checked my dolls and they also had damaged legs. The legs are dented on both sides and the dents are shiny. The shelf is beautiful and the dolls can stand up without the doll stands, so the shelf is still nice, but I would not use the stands.
