Ruthie wore a similar dress in the movie/DVD Kit Kittredge: An American Girl. Released in 2011, retired in 2016.
Kit's fancy dress is trimmed with lace and features a satin sash that ties in back. Includes cream T-strap shoes with punch details and a pretty hairbow to match. P9-T6696 $28
A+ I adore Kit's Summer dress! The quality and texture of the fabric is lovely, high quality stuff. It's a soft cotton, lined with a muslin that drapes nicely over the doll's body. The lace trim in also good, not too stiff. The dress is very well made, and the lines of the dress complement the shape of the doll. True it's not Kit's color, but given that I don't have Kit, I don't mind. My Lanie and Rebecca both enjoy wearing it. Of course the BIG sateen bow is a bit over the top, and I'm half tempted to get out my stitch ripper and remove it. (And I might just do that!) The shoes are a B+. They fit well, the dolls can stand easily in them and the design is cute. They are make from a patent plastic that's a little too thin. A cloth shoe (like her meet sandals) or a sturdier plastic would have been better (but hey, at least they're not molded plastic like Sam's meet shoes.

This set contains a dress, hair bow and shoes, I got it from American Girl on Weekly Sale for $26 in July 2012. The dress is lovely and feminine. It is a soft cream coloured cotton with pink, yellow and lavender flowers and green leaves printed on it, and it has an ivory lace yoke and trim and a lavender satin sash. The dress is nicely made, the bodice and part of the skirt are lined, the material is soft and it is very pretty. I admit the sash is a bit much, but I can live with it. I only wish the bow had been permanent, I nearly cried untying it knowing I could never get it that nice again. The shoes are cheap, very thin patent pleather and one of mine was creased and cracked and had glue spots on it, they do match the dress nicely though. AG sent me a replacement pair, that while not perfect is much better than the original. The hair bow matches the sash, is attached to a pony-o, and is still sealed in its bag. I am very happy with this dress (even with the kinda cheap shoes) and honestly think it would have been worth full price. Granted it isn't Kit's style, but I don't have Kit and it looks fabulous on the Elizabeth doll I bought it for. A

I had these in my picasa account from 2 years ago... sorry they aren't the best. I don't think my Sam photographs very well... she always looks like she's got a wonky eye. I do like this dress better for Sam than Kit... I don't think Kit would have been caught dead in it.

A sweet board member thought I might want to add these pics to this review thread in case any of us might need to see more photos of this cute outfit. I do love this dress it's very well made, soft and sturdy including the lace. I used bobby pins (through the pony holder) to attach the bow in Addy's hair.

So pretty and feminine. The fabric and lace are just lovely. The back bow as well as the hair bow are sweet. I think it looks darling on Kit and just about everyone else.
