I think this set looks realy cute on the dolls. While its not my favorie outfit, mainly because its not very practical I still think it is cute. There were two mane things that I didnt like about this set (the flapper costume) One was the fraying fringes at the bottom of the dress and the secound was a chunck of feather missing out of the feather on the headband. Besides these two things I think the outfit is still worth getting at its monthly special price (six dollars off ) I accualy called AG and they were going to send me a new headband but it wasnt available as a replacement part soo they just sent me a new costume.

I have this outfit and really like it. There were no problems with the feathers or fringes on the dress. The shoes are a little akward, since they have heels its makes it difficult to stand the doll upright while wearing them. Altogether however it was a good outfit and I liked the coloring and the way the shoes, gloves, necklace, and headband went with the dress.

I'm on the fence with this one. I got it just before it became discontinued. When I got it and put it on Kit I did not like it as much. It has gaps where there are no fringe and the outfit looks funny. The shoes are cute and the headband a little odd. The necklace surprised me. I would have thought it would have been done as two necklaces or as one adjustable necklace, but its not--its two strands that share the same clasp. The gloves were nice, but overall, this outfit is not one of my favorites. Its one of those where I bought it and it did not look as nice as it did on the website. Grade: B-

Posts moved from other threads: Gracie wrote: We have the doll-sized and the girl-sized outfits and I would recommend them both, especially with them being on sale. They are pretty detailed for the price and really gorgeous. Probably more flamboyant that a true flapper outfit, but still adorable. The material can catch easily so handle with care. Flauta wrote: I love the flapper outfit. It looks adorable on my Kit with her short hair. What's even more to like is that it comes with everything-including shoes! Happyagmommykatie wrote: I got the flapper outfit just before Halloween for Kit to wear and I think it is a great outfit. The only issue I had is that the delicate silver thread that goes round the neckline area was defective on our outfit in that it was detached from the main part of the costume on the back left side. I sent it back to AG and they replaced it--no problems. The shoes and crown are adorable as are the beads. If it helps, I'm seriously considering getting another flapper outfit while it is on sale to put away for when DD might want to have the dolls do dance performances or to have two flappers for next year at Halloween.

My #58 Whitney, who loves 20s history, is delighted to wear this costume for Halloween this year! I picked this one up on eBay with everything but the bag. The shoes and the headband are both trimmed with matching flower sequins. My headband was fine, with all its feathers. The elastic is really heavy duty, enough to be able to fit around Whitney's considerable curls.
The shoes are cute and fit Whitney very well. They have a definite kitten heel. Whitney seemed to stand in them all right, but I only had her up for a few minutes.
The necklace is adorable and really adds to the outfit, but it's also really tight. It took me a while to get it to stay, and Whitney is a brand-new Mattel doll. It may be even more difficult with thicker PM girls. The gloves slid on pretty easily once you got around her thumbs.
The dress is sequin-trimmed silver fabric with braided fringe. My fringe is in good shape, with no fraying. I'm more concerned about the dress being pulled on the Velcro. It's the non-snagging kind, but it still caught on the dress when I was putting it on the doll.
Despite the above issue with the dress, I still highly recommend this outfit if you ever run into it on the secondary market for dolls who like their costumes cute and oh-so-glamorous.
