This outfit includes glitter jeans, ribbon-trimmed top, platform slides, and newsboy hat. I have no idea where the hat and slides are so I'll just review about the shirt and jeans SHIRT: I liked that this shirt had a pretty ribbon design and beautiful rhinestone graphic. I can put it on my doll easily. Very cute! I don't like that the shirt doesn't cover the stomach well enough. It is too small to cover all of the stomach. In the picture, the doll's stomach is covered. But on my doll it doesn't. JEANS I love the jeans. The dark pink detail on the side of it makes it very girly and stylish I wish the jeans would be taller so that it helps the shirt cover the stomach. That is part of the reason why the shirt seems too small. And AG needs to figure out a way to make sure that the jeans fit the doll nicely. The jeans I have sometimes start slipping down slowly. So with that, I give it a B

This outfit was one of three Talent Show themed outfits that AG put out in 2003. The theme also included the Paisley Dress, Jacket and Skirt Outfit, and Talent Show Accessories, all of which could be purchased together for a special price of $88. This outfit alone retailed $24. Since it is themed, I've always assumed that AG never meant to imply that this was an outfit that its 8-12 year old target market would put on its dolls for regular kickin' around play. It's meant for performing. With that in mind, I can get around the midriff-exposing top, low-rise jeans, platform shoes, and pimp hat. Just. I actually do love the top. It's why I got the outfit. It is a pretty shade of blue and the rhinestone design, lace and ribbon trim are lovely. It comes to a point in front, which leaves the sides of the doll's muslin body hanging out. And what else hangs out? Inevitably, the doll's AG tag is exposed! Gah, I hate this. I really hate seeing body tags. It's why my dolls don't wear 2-piece bathing suits. And if the top were an inch longer, this could have been avoided and it would have been perfect. So just for that, a lovely top gets a B. The jeans have glitter "stripe" on each outside leg (hence the name of the outfit). Surprisingly, this is not the type of glitter that comes off in one's hands upon each contact, so that is a plus. The jeans have a somewhat low rise to them which accentuates the midriff exposure. "Trendy" is pretty hard to pull off on a waist-less muslin body. So B- for execution on the jeans. The newsboy hat is rose-toned purple ultrasuede which compliments the trim color on the top. It has a stiff brim and actually looks nice on most doll heads, so it gets an A. The shoes, bleh, they never stay on. Plus, they are really solid, and will put a dent in your toe if you happen to drop one. Because they are platform style, they also pitch the doll forward so she cannot stand upright. They look good, with their CD-style detailing. And of course in some circles, the fact that a shoe looks good is all that matters. But not for me; I am practical. I want my doll to stand on her own. So they get a C from me. So this outfit weighs in overall with a B. The color palette it uses is a nice one, but it is all rather clumsily executed in the name of fashion doll chic. I would definitely not pay more than original retail for this outfit, even retired on the secondary market. The ensemble on Traveling Nora: Detail of tag-exposing top: The hat: The shoes of Fail:

I like everything about this outfit except the bottom part of the top. If the shirt were longer, I would have been okay with it, but I don't like having part of my doll's sides exposed. I like the pink fringes on the sleeves and neck and the beading is pretty but the hem just looks dumb. *mod edit to remove dead images*
