Sugarplum Coat for Dolls $20 GWOG Grade: A Made of wool in a rich deep purple this coat is wonderful! It's wonderfully finished inside and out. I love the super soft black faux fur trim to the sleeves and collar. That same trim is used on the hat and for the mittens. The coat actually has to use the knots to close as there are no snaps. I waited to snatch this one up from ebay for a reasonable price. I really like it and it could easily fit with Sam or Nellie wearing it.

My sister has this coat and her Samantha wears it often. It looks really good over the gala outfit.

I quite like this coat. It looks good on practically any doll, and it's very cute. A+.

I just got this coat and put it on Inga. She's wearing it on top of the Sightseeing Outfit. The coat fits great. I had trouble with the buttons and loops because the loop is too small- and I wonder if it will be even harder for a little girl. The coat and hat look surprisingly good on Inga. I like the way the coat floats and is cut- it is not bulky. And the gloves add that finishing touch. Gets an A from me- would be an A+ if it had larger loops.

That coat is so cute. But it does remind me of Samantha's coat.

It is MUCH better than Samantha's coat. Why? Because it is NOT bulky.
And the colors are beautiful. Surprisingly, it does not look overpowering on Inga.

I really like this coat, and think it's a cute classic. However, I agree with Scandia - the frog loops are quite difficult to fasten.

I cannot imagine a young girl trying to work the frog knots on this coat....what a pain! I've had it for a couple of years and while it is a bit of a dust magnet, it has held up and is a lovely, classic piece for winter doll wardrobes. I like that it has an attached belt in the back; definitely a nice touch. Because the coat is cut so generously, it can fit over nearly any outfit. There have been a few complaints from collectors that the dye has stained doll vinyl; I personally have never had any problems, and have left it on my doll for at least 6 weeks at a time. The set comes up occasionally on eBay and given that it is a retired piece, can command prices nearly a third higher than its original retail of $20 back in 2001. But it also can sneak in there for decent prices, so it pays to be patient and comparison shop prices. Overall grade is B; it misses an A grade because the frog knots are a nuisance to work with and should have been done better.

This is a beautiful coat, with a beautiful hat and beautiful mittens, but I can still see a young kid having trouble with it, as the hooks can be tricky. Still, HIGHLY recommended.

I love this coat! The frog closures really work and the coat is a lovely rich purple color. The hat is cute as well. I use it for my custom Nellie when she joins Samantha.
