This outfit is one of the new outfits Debuted at the DC store at the Soft Opening on Wed June 15th. I got two of them because I totally love it!!
It comes with a knit skirt with foax snap accents and elastic waist with inner star you embroidery things on the corner. Arm warmers that are magenta. This is not bright pink or red its a very deep almost purplish pink. The top is made out of the same color material with embroidered shoulder accents, and short sleeves. The tee is that super light weight cotton thats almost see through if held up to the light. The shoes I was impressed with they are probably man made materials but it feels like leather almost. and fit well. they are magenta and white with elastic laces.
combined with the Rasberry Glasses it looks amazing!! I like it best on the darker haired girls.
Here you can see my rewigged PM Lissy wearing the armwarmers with another mixed and matched outfit
along with a better view of the shoes and outfit on the new 55 (Bella)
As with any time that AG creates an outfit that mirrors contemporary fashions, the Fresh and Fun outfit seems to be one that folks either intensely like or dislike.
I'm in the camp of liking it, since it's similar to things that my 12 year old daughter wears. It was the only outfit out of the final batch of AG 2011 releases that she wanted, and she promptly dressed Jess in it after purchasing it at the store. I think the darker colors are a refreshing choice for AG. Fit is good and the outfit has versatility in its favor because the pieces have mix-and-match potential. Even my daughter said she could do without the appliques on the skirt, which are just plain stupid, but we didn't want to risk leaving big honking holes from the seams so we left them on.
I think the outfit looks best on dark-haired dolls for the contrast of colors. I am always a bit concerned about potential staining issues with darker items but we've not had any problems. Since we like the style and think it is a very contemporary look, right down to the fingerless gloves, item gets an A grade from me.
