I had to buy these because they seemed perfect for Luna. They sell for $14.
They are not quite as coral as they appear in my photos - I think my halogen light gives off enough of a yellow tone that it affected the color. They're more of a hot pink with a lighter carnation pink for the toes, soles, and very tops/handles.
They're just like Lanie's blue gardening boots, although I feel like these are just a touch easier to get on. You will never get these on over socks or tights, though (well, you might get them on over super thin socks or tights, but I don't think it would be worth the effort or frustration). I wouldn't use them with long pants unless there was tons of extra room in them from the knee down. They work out okay with leggings, which is what I've paired them with here.
For me they were worth the money simply because my Luna wears Wellington boots almost exclusively and these were perfect for her with their great plaid design. Others may want to wait for a sale since they're so difficult to get on.

I got these this past week and they are very cute. I tried them on my Penelope with the True Style outfit cord pants and the legs ended up over on top. They were okay but like the OP, I would definitely pair them with leggings. No thick pants or socks will most likely work with these boots.
Here is a picture of them (with the cord pants rolled up on my #24 Penelope)
