This meet outfit is worn by Emily in the book Brave Emily and in the movie Molly: An American Girl on the Home Front. Emily came in this meet outfit from her debut in 2006 until her retirement in 2013.
Your Emily doll arrives in a dress printed with cherry blossoms, and a headband. Underneath, she wears knickers, ankle socks, and T-strap shoes.
A-
Emily has lovely red-tinted, honey-brown hair that falls to where her shoulder blades would be. It is very straight with a center part, and is just lovely to touch. She has the classic face mold with light blue eyes (like Kirsten's, not Kit's), and there is actually a little piece of plastic or vinyl or something along her part to make it look more natural!
She is a beautiful doll, though not very unique, considering all the other dolls with similar hair and/or eyes! Her hair is easy to brush and style, and its length means it is less likely to get caught in everything.
My doll arrived with extremely tight legs, and I've had trouble getting her to stand or sit without something propping her up. Also, though Emily is said to have red hair, it looks more like a honey brown with a red glaze rather than a "true" red. In most photos and in most lighting, I would call it more brown than red, though when the light hits it right, it is a beautiful shade.

Emily is now one of my favorite dolls! I thought at first she looked too much like felicity, but I thought " what the heck, ill get her and see"... well she arrived and she is just beautiful! Yeah she has the same face mold and stuff as some of the other dolls, but I think she is stunning

Emily is most definitely one of my favorites! She has the prettiest gingery red hair--different than 1991 Lissie's--and beautiful blue eyes, like Kirsten's, yes, but I think #23 and/or Lindsey more when I see Emily's eyes. And her hair extends slightly below the shoulders like Nellie's only without the curl under. There's also the fact that she's bangless--a plus for me because that's what I prefer. Her hair has a middle part, too, and though I've heard about excessive glue around the part, my girl's part is just great. Emily's meet dress is just to die for. The BEST meet dress around, in my opinion once again. I love Nellie's and some of the others', but nothing compares to Emily's. I love the periwinkle color with the cherry and cherry blossom print. And the red and white polka dot tie complements the cherry print wonderfully. The collar is trimmed in red, too, and Emily even has red socks to match, along with the red and white polka dot headband (which is hard to get on...) for her hair. I also love the little scalloped edge to the dress...making it look like two parts. The scalloped edge is also trimmed in red. Oh, and the T-strap black shoes are just too cute...like Kit's Christmas shoes, but with a little pattern of holes (whatever you call that). And of course Emily has undies like Samantha, Nellie, Kit, and Molly! Grade: A++++++++++++++++++++++++ Pictures: A close up of her gorgeous face! Molly and Emily! Redhead comparison (2004 Nellie, 2006 Emily, 1991 Felicity, 2003 Gotz Julia) Felicity and Emily: Nellie and Emily:

Here is my new Emily standing next to #27... At first, seeing all the pictures of Emily, I didnt really like her all that much.. she reminded me too much of Felicity... but then she grew on me, I knew I had to have her! She is way prettier in person than the pictures show! I am now super glad I got her and she is here to stay!

I love my Emily. She looks gorgeous and after about twentysome attempts I managed to get her headband the way I wanted it. I love that she has blue eyes and red hair. Poor Felicity needed a fellow carrottop in the collection. :) I have to admit, though, I was expectig her to look more like the illustrations. But I am satisfied.

Emily is my favorite doll! Hating to play favorites, but I'm just really attached to her for reasons unknown. Maybe it's because she's like me? Quiet, shy, and hates practing her musical instrument! Anyway, I love my little Emily! Here's some pics: (mod edit to remove broken image links) :-*I love her! But her headband kinda annoys me because you can see through it (there's a gap in between her head and the band) An A+++ from me, though!

My daughter just got Emily for her birthday last week and was shocked and thrilled. The only thing that bothers me about ours is that her headband is extremely rigid and I can't get it on her head without feeling like I am either going to break the headband or do damage equivalent to Em's head in a vice!

A+ - I got my Emily for Christmas and I love her. She is so pretty. Her eyes are so beautiful and her hair color is very neat too. As you can see in the Felicity comparisons, it looks very different than Felicity's red hair and in my opinion it is more of a honey golden brown. But I love it!
Her meet dress is great and I have not put her headband on her and she looks fine. If you cannot get the headband adjusted right, I would say, just leave it off. She looks great without her headband.
I am very happy with Emily and have had no problems with her quality. She is a gorgeous doll and I would recommend her to anyone!

I'm very pleased with my Emily doll to say the least. The Meet outfit they gave her is extremely eyecatching and looks very good on the doll. Curiously, it is red, white, and blue- which fits both her native England and the America which she is staying in. The headband is an awesome accessory that fits her well. The shoes are very good quality and look very cute. Overall an A+

I give Emily an A+! Her hair is such a nice length, playable, but still easy to handle. It's a beautiful color, a light reddish-brown, and so silky. She looks great in pretty much anything. She's adorable, and her meet outfit is not only pretty, it's "cuddly"... like, it's soft and makes a doll a lot more huggable. Emily is just gorgeous. I love her eye color together with her hair color. Someone above commented on her meet dress being the best, and I must say that I totally agree. It is so lovely with the scalloped bodice and the quality of fabric is great. I love her headband, too! I think Emily has a timeless look that makes her a good choice as a friend to most of the historical dolls...she can fit right in wearing their collections.

Emily 6 December 2006 I won my Emily and Molly from B&N soon after their movie, and I really love Emily. Her hair can be braided, and I love the fact that it's red. Overall, I think the doll's a bit plain, but she's cute in most outfits. My Emily spends most of her time in modern attire, though that might be due to my lack of interest in 1940's clothes. I love her eyes too. My grade: A- (mod edit to remove broken image links)

My grandma ordered me Emily the day she came out and I love her! Her meet outfit is darling and I love her blue eyes. She has such a nice expression on her face. I haven't had too many troubles with the headband but it usually takes 2 tries to get it on right. Overall I give Emily an A+

I love Emily! She's one of my favorite dolls. Her hair is very nice, not too long, not too short. I love the color. Its a really nice red/brown color that looks lovely with her blue eyes. Shes kind of "plain" but I love her all the same.
I love the meet outfit on her. The colors of the dress are very cute. I don't know if it is just me, but I find the shoes EXTEREMELY HARD TO PUT ON. It takes me about 10 minutes for each shoe. I'm sad because they're are like "fold" lines all over the material from trying to put the shoe on. The socks are a nice touch. The head band is okay, its kinda hard to put on though. I always feel like I'm going to break the head band and hurt Em's head!

Emily's a very sweet doll. I ended up returning mine because I wanted her to have redder hair and I don't care for the light blue eyes. Her meet outfit is darling, but the headband is a huge pain to put on. The slouchy socks are odd. The shoes don't seem to fit her properly- they really look like doll shoes, not regular shoes. While this makes sense, given that they are doll shoes, I prefer the shoes to look a bit more realistic. Another reason I returned Emily was that she looked quite a bit like #23. Their hair is noticeably different when they are next to eachother, but even when they are just a few dolls a part on the shelf, they do look very similar. Grade: B

I really love Emily, and am glad I did decide to get her. <3
As a doll, she's beautiful - I'll admit I was drawn to her for her shorter hair, since it's easier to maintain. (She's actually my first doll with the classic mold, too!)
Her meet dress is LOVELY, and probably my favourite meet outfit of any of the dolls - the dress seems very high quality.
I really hate her Alice band, however - it's so hard to put on, and I worry (since it's rather tight), that I'll either break it, or mess up her wig/head while trying to adjust it once I have it on.
Her shoes seem a little on the cheap-looking side to me, but they're the least of my worries.
Overall: A Doll: A+ Meet outfit: A

My Emily is gorgeous! She frequently wears modern clothes. Her hair is very pretty. I wouldn't say it is red though, more of a ginger/auburn color. I haven't had a problem with the headband. Her meet outfit is very cute, but the shoes are tight even without socks. I give her an A+.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got my emily doll for two dollars at a thrift store today, and she is in very good condition. She's my first short-haired doll. She was nekked, but quickly picked out a fun modern outfit. I'll post pics later... my battery died! She's gorgeous though. I love her eyes, and the coppery sheen of her hair. Beautiful!

Emily was a gift for my youngest daughter from Santa, Christmas 2008. It was hard to find an Emily with out too much of the white plastic piece showing a lot - I found the best one at AG MOA - after going through every one that they had on the floor and some they brought out from the back. Emily's meet outfit is exceptional! The shoes are a hair tight, but with a little coaxing, we can get them on. Our headband is fine, not too loose or tight. Overall, I give Emily an A! I am still not thrilled with what little bit of the white plastic piece that shows at her part. D~

This is my daughter's Emily. She was ordered from AG for my daughter's birthday in September 2006, the first year she was released. I think this particular Emily is gorgeous. I love her chubby face and beautiful coloring. Her hair is really pretty but a bit difficult to style since it's so straight. I give her an A+.

Do the Emilys have a variance in the length of their hair?

Do the Emilys have a variance in the length of their hair? Not that I've noticed, unless it's very minimal.

Emily is a darling doll. Her hair is a very pretty shade, and I don't think it's been used for another doll. Her eyes are a bright blue, and her skin a very warm shade. She looks like a very pretty British child. The haircut does get a little annoying after a while, because it's longer in the front and shorter in the back, but 99% of the time it's manageable.
A solid A for miss Emily Bennett.

I only got my Emily a couple of days ago. She is our third AG, but I really wanted to have her and I am not disappointed. I think she is one of the most beautiful AG if not THE most! I must say I didn't really like her original dress. It is beautiful and good quality, but personally I think the collar style doesn't suit her. I also didn't like the panties (40s style). I gave the dress to my daughter for her #36 and she is happy with it. When I put modern clothes on Emily she became even more stunning. Love her! Here she is shown next to #36. i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j436/OlgaW/IMG_0471-1.jpg

The Emily doll quickly became one of my favourites. Mine isn't an Emily anymore, but still can review. She has wonderful hair in length and style, though to me it already feels a bit dried out, and I've only had her about 6 months. (ETA: As I posted photos I thought about it- this is probably my fault for exposing her to salty air at the beach.) She looks good in everything. Really no complaints here! I certainly don't regret getting her, and wouldn't hesitate to do so again! A+! She's Felicity's sister at our house. They look related, but not too similar to keep them both! If you notice, Lissie's hair is darker and their faces aren't so alike. She looks really great hanging out with Rebecca, in my mind. Even better than being paired with Molly. My Emily is now Madalina, and is also Jewish:
