This outfit was worn by Emily in the book Brave Emily. It was released in 2007 and retired in 2008.
When Emily is asked to play a Flutophone solo in front of the entire school and the PTA, Mrs. Gilford helps Emily find the perfect outfit. With the spotlight on her, Emily is ready to perform in this special outfit, featuring: A mint green dress with a Peter Pan collar, sheer bodice and sleeves, and a tiered skirt with gathered lace, Shiny white T-strap shoes, Two lace-covered barrettes to sweep the hair away from her face as she plays.
This dress is very cute and looks lovely on Emily. It is is sheer but it isn't really see through because it is lined. There is "lace" trim on the top which is a sweet touch. The skirt puffs out nicely and there is lace on the skirt as well. The shoes are cute but close with velcro instead of snaps. The hair clips are nicer than the barrettes that come in Molly's Christmas stocking. They have metal clip closures. The downside is that the clips slip through Emily's hair when she is moved. They hold her hair back nicely for display though.
Grade: A

I also give this dress an A This dress looks absolutely adorable on Emily. It has a bow that ties in the back which adds a nice touch.

The dress may be sheer, but I still manage to have Emily wear the Molly Undershirt underneath. The color looks great on Emily. The style is historically accurate while at the same time being wearable today without getting eyebrows raised. The shoes are very cute and can be worn with socks. Overall an A from me as well.

Emily’s Recital Outfit Item# F5708 $24
When Emily is asked to play a Flutophone solo in front of the entire school and the PTA, Mrs. Gilford helps Emily find the perfect outfit. With the spotlight on her, Emily is ready to perform in this special outfit, featuring:
* A mint green dress with a Peter Pan collar, sheer bodice and sleeves, and a tiered skirt with gathered lace * Shiny white T-strap shoes * Two lace-covered barrettes to sweep the hair away from her face as she plays.I love this dress! Emily looks so pretty in it. The skirt stands out all on it's own without an extra crinoline underneath. The shoes have a buckle "for show only" as they close with velcro. The little barrettes are made well and work well in Emily's hair. Everything is very well made and should withstand lots of use. Grade A. close up of barrette

This also looks stunning on Nellie The clips really set off the color of her hair. Also, I don't think that the dress is too short to keep with Nellie's era!

This is an adorable dress. I like the fabric... it's not too thick, but doesn't feel cheap. Because of the color and fabric, it'd be great for spring. The shoes are also very cute and versatile. This dress also looks great on Molly, IMO, and she's who I bought it for. It fits my PM Molly just fine, even with her slip and undershirt underneath. The shoes fit too. A for sure. Well worth the sale price of $14 for which I bought it, and probably worth the full price as well, now that I have it.

What a great outfit. My cousin actually got this at the outlet, had it for a while, then said I could have it. So sweet!
I love the mint green of the dress and the story behind it that says Ms. Gilford made the dress. I saw it as a funny contrast to Molly's recital dress, which was said to be bought new. I love that the dress can trancend time periods; I had Petra go to Samantha's birthday party wearing this and she didn't look out of place at all. The clips seem basic. I had an issue with mine as the appliques were coming off the metal barette. I just glued them back on with tacky glue and they are fine. The shoes don't exactly fit PM feet perfectly- I've had to stretch the straps to close. But the dress fits all dolls great and looks great!

This dress is darling. The mint green is so pretty and the little extra details. I think it looks lovely on Emily, but also Kit as well. The sheer sleeves are my favorite.
