*This outfit is not seen in any of Josefina's books* Um, I may be crazy beause I was sure there was a thread for this already, but it's not there anymore.... So I'll review! This outfit is LOVELY - so much better than I had anticipated. Yes, it's made all in one piece (with the camisa attached to the skirt and the sash sewn on top), but it's so aesthetically pleasing I really don't care. The skirt is a lovely cool red color with gold and purple flowers and a lot of gold trim - very detailed. The color suits Josefina so well! The vest is velveteen and lined in satin and while not all that impressive on it's own, it really compliments the outfit and gives it a formal vibe. The shoes ARE just another pair of black flats but techincally there's a difference between these and the two pairs of holiday shoes - these have a lower back and are actually dancing slippers. Surprisingly, they're a little large. As far as mixing-and-matching goes, her heirloom choker looks perfect with this outfit, and I also tied her red school sash over the ribbon sash attached to this outfit. The color coordinates well and it makes the outfit look more substantial and period appropriate (plus it causes the top half of the dress to ruffle better and look more like a convincing camisa). A, but only because of the inaccuracy of the outfit being one piece. It is actually my favorite of all Josefina's outfits!! With the school sash:

I own it and love the colors, but it irks me that it is a faux camisa and skirt look. It's done because 1. it's cheaper to make or 2. because Mattel doesn't think children have the eye hand coordination, patience, or spatial awareness to put on 2 pieces of clothing. Pshaw- how will they learn any of those things if they are never given the opportunity to practice them? Also- that it comes with black flats pair #3 for her is irritating. She doesn't need 'em! A new rebozo instead of yet another black pair of shoes would have been a nice add in.

I think this dress is really pretty! I don't have any photos of Josefina wearing this outfit, but here is my sister Trisha's Julie modeling the dress: I especially like this dress with the shawl from her heirloom accessories. The yellow color of this shawl really brings out the pretty design in the skirt.

I personally love it. I know it is not 100% accurate but it looks like it, and the colors suit her beautifully!

It's not the high note of Josefina's collection, but it is very pretty on her. It does kind of keep me from buying the "Feast Day" dress due to the similarity, but other than that I can't say a word against it. The little black vest is insanely versatile. I even used it as a template for a laced bodice that was integral to Josefina's Hobbit costume this past month.

I was on the fence about this dress when I saw it. I wasn't sure, but I liked the pattern and took the plunge. I LOVE it! And so does DD8. She is always wanting to put her in it! Yeah it's one piece and yet another pair of shoes, but for me who had none, this was great! Pictures truly do not do justice. but the print is lovely in person, and is very flattering on Josa. I'm not sure I have pics of her in it I'm afraid... :/

This is one of those outfits that look just OK in the catalog, but when you actually see the red and shimmery gold together, it is really stunning. The gold doesn't capture well in photographs, and while I would like for it to have been a skirt and blouse, just giving her another camisa similar to the others might not have been the way to go. This is much easier to put on. It is really a pretty dress! I would definitely get it, especially considering how few outfits Josefina has.
