Tennis Skirt Set for Dolls + Charm Item# T6599 $34 This outfit features: A sporty mock-layered tank that's perfect for tennis practice A matching tennis skirt with briefs underneath A double-ribbon headband to sweep back her hair A slip-on wristband to keep her comfortable Ankle socks and athletic shoes A tennis racquet and a ball Includes a “Strong” heart charm for the doll’s charm-keeper necklace
I love the colors in this set! The yellow looks either yellow or green depending on the lighting. Either way, I like the color scheme. It's different from AG's typical hot pink and a nice change of pace. The clothing pieces are made of a nylon/spandex type material that is pretty accurate for athletic gear. The tank does not have velcro in the back and has to go on over the doll's head. This isn't terrible since the shirt is pretty stretchy, but it could be tough for a younger kid. The skirt fits well, and the briefs are not attached. The headband is similar to Lanie's headband, but stretchier. It's a ribbon with a strip of elastic in the back. The wrist band is kind of tough to get on and made of the same material as the briefs. The socks are pretty cheap material. One of mine is smaller than the other. The shoes are cute, and I can see them getting a lot of use with other outfits since they are fairly neutral colors. The tennis racquet is all plastic, but seems to be nice quality. The ball feels like a real tennis ball. The price point is a little high, in my opinion, but I am so glad AG used something besides pink. Overall, I give the set an A.

Pictures to come the next time I'm home in the daylight!
This is a wonderful set that's well worth the money and accurate to tennis outfits worn today; I generally agree with the review posted above, and also LOVE that it is not pink. I like pink, but it's great to have an athletic outfit that not only doesn't have it as the primary color, but doesn't incorporate it at all - tough to find in AG athletic outfits especially.
The top, skirt, wristband, and spankies are all made out of a spandex material that's a very close approximation to the wicking performance fabrics that many sports clothes are made from. The headband is cute - two pieces of grosgrain ribbon held together with some elastic. The shoes are far and away the best part of the outfit; they're cute, sturdy, and very fashion-forward. Fluorescents are really in for athletic shoes right now!
The only negatives about the set have to do with the accessories. The tennis ball is a little out of scale. The dolls are supposed to be representations of kids, so I get that it's going to look a little larger in her hand than a real tennis ball would in mine, but I still think it's a tad on the large size. The doll CAN hold her racquet if you balance it just right and put her arm at just the right angle, but it took a lot of experimenting for me to get this to work, and it didn't stay very long.
Overall, I give the outfit a solid A. The scale of the ball and the doll's inability to hold her racquet well are very small points against a really cute, accurate, and non-pink athletic set!
Aaryana already has some very accurate photos of the outfit overall, so I'll just highlight a few things:
This is the best picture I could get of the racquet in a doll's hand - you have to wedge it into her hand at just the right angle and have her hand at just the right height for it to work. Would probably frustrate a child who wanted to have the doll "play" tennis.
Close-up of the pintucks on the skirt - really cute and adds something a little different and fun! AG star at right hem.
Out-of-scale tennis ball in a doll's hand. It is really more the size a bowling ball would be in proportion to an AG's hand. The ball is rubber, unlike some previous AG sets with a plastic ball, and bounces - it feels to me like a dime-machine superball covered with flocking to look like a tennis ball.
