This doll is gorgous! Her hair is silky smooth and very easy to manage. She has no part like Kailey and it can do the 90s waterfall tail. Her meet outfit is cute, but the pants fall down when she sits. Doll A++++, outfit B due to the pants dropping and the colors are a little eh. Pictures: Free gym bag we received at the store: Compared with Chrissa and Elizabeth Kirsten 2 braids, McKenna hair down, Elizabeth 1 braid

My daughter received McKenna this morning. Im in love with this doll. I literally cannot stop touching this dolls hair. Her wig is so silky, smooth and playable. Here is a shot of the infamous wig cap. My McKenna did not come with the white wig cap seen on the instore display doll. Her wig cap blends her hair colour and is not as noticeable. Her face paint is beautiful, not too bright, but not too subtle. Her Meet outfit is nice. My dd likes it, and thinks it's definitely something she would wear. BUT, as Holley said, when McKenna sits her leggings fall. A little annoying, but like Queen says, she makes the rockin' world go round.

My McKenna arrived today! Her new name is Miri though and her character is slightly different, but I won't go into that here. I have to say McKenna is beautiful! She's just beautiful and very sweet looking. She does look a bit older than some of the other dolls to me, especially when her hair is in some hairstyles, but that's okay and some people probably specifically want that. McKenna's wig is gorgeous. I love how it looks and think the unicorn is charming. As a kid I often wore my hair that way. The length of the wig is great and I really like how it turns under ever so slightly at the bottom. The curl is not as extreme as on many of the MyAGs, which seems more realistic to me. The hair itself is very silky but the hairs are not too fine, and it's easy to play with. Nice and thick, too and the V part does not interfere with hairstyles, you can just kind of make your own part on the top and it looks just fine. It's true that the wig doesn't have short hairs in the back, but the wig cap is the same color as the hair and while I'd like short hairs, it doesn't bother me that much that she doesn't have them. Here's a picture of her hair from behind with the hair in the unicorn ponytail, her hair is so silky that you can hardly see where the hairs blend together: The color is very lovely. In some pictures (and lighting!) she looks more blonde, and in others she looks more brunette. For my doll, the truth is somewhere in the middle. Literally. The hair on the back half of her head is darker and the hair on the front is lighter. This is a picture of her hair from the side: You can see the color difference in the two halves. Not sure exactly what happened there and I wonder if all McKennas are like that. It looks like they ran out of hair partway through making the wig and the next batch of hair was a slightly different shade. It really isn't all that noticeable though when you braid her hair or just have it down because the hairs from both sides mix together, though I would prefer if her hair was all the same (the darker shade, ideally). Aside from that, her hair does have lovely highlights and all the strands are not the same shade. Overall I would call her hair golden brown. Very pretty. As others have stated, McKenna does look a lot like Elizabeth. Her hair is a little darker and she doesn't have pin curls but other than that, they're basically the same. I wish AG had given her different colored eyes. The dark blue would have been stunning and would have set her apart a bit more. As for the outfit, it's cute enough I guess. I may sell it because it doesn't do a lot for me, but I do like the little shoes with the grippy soles. All in all, I give McKenna a solid B. She's lovely and sweet and a great choice if you don't have Elizabeth, but I would pass if you do. She would have received an A for me if her hair was all the same color and if she had a different color eyes. Freckles wouldn't have hurt either but I didn't deduct any points for that

My McKenna, too, has the different colored hair sections. I believe it's the top layer that is the more blond hairs and the underneath set that are darker. That would be what real hair looks like too as the top layer is often lighter than the underneath layers. And here's McKenna eating at the Bistro. She had to take out that unicorn look ASAP: She brought a dolly to lunch with her!

My McKenna arrived on Saturday. She is gorgeous and worth every penny! I had been considering purchasing an Elizabeth for quite some time, and when I saw McKenna, I decided that she would be a nice alternative. I'm so glad I went ahead and bought her, because she is absolutely adorable. Her face paint is perfect, it's not too dull or too bright. Her meet outfit is cute, and I especially love the shoes (that probably doesn't have anything to do with the fact that they're my two favorite colors! ) Her wig...well, the cap isn't as noticeable as I thought it would be, but you can still see it when her hair is in ponytails or braids. Otherwise, I love the color, the length, the silkiness...I could play with it all day long and not get tired of it. Overall, I'd give her an A. Here are some of my favorite pictures of her (and one of her wig cap...couldn't leave that out.) I'm probably adding way too many, but there were so many that I couldn't choose just a couple! Relaxing after her long journey: Showing off her pretty hair: The not-so-pretty wig cap: Posing with Vanessa (my modern Nellie): Wearing Julie's pajamas: Wearing the MyAG Raincoat and Boots (love these colors on her!): After acquiring some adorable pandas: And best of all, she's 100% Charlie-approved :

McKenna (renamed Sofia around here) is a cutie! Her hair is soft (but not fine like Julie's) and fun to play with. There aren't any hairs to cover the part in pigtails, but that doesn't bother me. I'm liking her a lot! A+ DSC00370 by SkaterMichelle, on Flickr DSC00371 by SkaterMichelle, on Flickr DSC00372 by SkaterMichelle, on Flickr

McKenna is such a pretty doll! Seeing her in person, her hair is a lot closer to Elizabeth's colour than I had expected but the texture/quality is silkier. I LOVE McKenna's hair. Mine seems to have a good headful, too, for which I am extremely glad. One of the first things I did was to place McKenna between Elizabeth and Chrissa for comparison. They are very similar indeed, particularly Elizabeth, but I did notice quite a variation in the skintone. McKenna's vinyl has a warmer tone than either of the other two and her face paint is slightly darker, in keeping with that (still looks natural). I don't know if I will be able to pick up the difference in a photo but will try later. McKenna's Meet outfit is okay. I don't hate it and I don't love it. The colours are fine and the style is ok but the whole lacks substance imho. She's a gymnast: I think she should have come in her warmup outfit with the leotard underneath. My McKenna has slightly distorted/flattened hip sockets, one more noticeable than the other. I noticed it when I was changing her into her School outfit and saw that her undies sat oddly. . If I were in the US I might be tempted to exchange her but from here, it's not enough of an issue to warrant the hassle. The doll stands and sits fine and it doesn't seem to affect her clothes (apart from said undies, which she is unlikely to be flashing at anyone). Apart from the hassle of returns from this distance, I really like the face and hair of the doll I have and I'd be worried that if I sent her back for the hip issue, the replacement may not have such a pleasing face, or possibly might have hair or eye issues that would bug me more. I did notice that McKenna's leggings fail when she sits, as mentioned upthread. A for this one... would have been + but for the distorted hip socket on mine. Overall she's a glorious doll and I can see why the target market would be falling over themselves to buy her. Photos to come. I took one when I first unpacked her but hadn't realised how messy my kitchen was that day and don't want it in the background!!

Got McKenna at AG Atlanta last month. I wasn't supposed to get her, but my daughter was excited and really liked her. I went through quite a few boxes before I chose my McKenna. In the first box I looked at, face was pretty enough. I was ready to check-out when I noticed that the wig was off-balanced, and the uni-tail is not centered. That scared me so I really looked carefully before I chose The One. I give her an A. She's pretty, but I'm not real excited about her because I have some dolls who look like her. A+ for the hair though.

McKenna arrived here yesterday. I thought she wasn't going to come due to the fact that I also have #39 and Chrissa, but I couldn't pass her up with the latest code. I love her wig, it's among the most playable of all my girls. It's not as thick as I expected but that's OK. I've had bad luck with Josie mold girls (needed 3 Chrissas before I finally got one to stick), but this Mickey (her nickname) seems pretty good to me. My only regret about McKenna is I wish she'd have come with the Marie-Grace mold as that would have made her slightly more unique, but that's OK I suppose. Solid B+ for the grade. Pics forthcoming.

I took this picture back in January when I got McKenna to compare her with MyAg #39. They are pretty similar, but I love having both in my collection And yes, their hair color is the same

My dolls are always up for a photoshoot! Notice that Emily has a defined center part, while McKenna's hair kind of flips back (which looks really good in pony tails!)

McKenna is beautiful! She has such a sweet expression on her face, which makes her seem so much younger. My absolute favorite thing about this doll is her hair! It's so silky and smooth, and it's very easy for me to manage. I love how she doesn't have a part; it makes styling so much easier. AG should really make more dolls with this kind of hair. I do agree that McKenna is pretty much Chrissa with another wig. Both of the dolls are very similar, and though I prefer Chrissa, Kenna does have the awesome hair. Her meet is cute. I do like the style of it better than Lanie's, but it does seem thin. The shoes are adorable. They really don't look good in AG's stock photos, but they are so much better in person. I love the texture on the bottom of them. Very well done, AG. The leggings are average for leggings. Nothing exciting, but mine don't slip. Doll~ A ( I would give her a A+, but the fact that she is pretty much Chrissa with a Kailey wig ticks me off.) Meet~ A

I am really glad I purchased McKenna (renamed Alex). I am very pleased with her mold/hair colour/eye colour combo, as I was a bit worried it may irk me like Elizabeth did. However, the hair is a darker enough colour that is works really beautifully.
I can see what everyone else has said about McKenna's wig. It is really a beautiful thick and silky wig. I received my McKenna around the third week of July, so like others have posted about the changed wigs, my McKenna doll has the short hairs in the back, which I am glad American Girl fixed. The only minor issue I had was the stuffing was a bit off, so her head was noticably tilted in a way that irked me. I played around with pushing the stuffing around her upper body, and the tilt is much less noticable.
I also do think that AG also fixed the falling legging issue. In the short time McKenna was in her original outfit, I did not see this issue of her leggings falling when she sat.
Overall, I give the doll an A. I understand the qualms folks had about her being to similar, but for me, she does not have too light of hair as Elizabeth has, and she actually has a playable hair length which Chrissa lacks. She is by far a keeper for me, and probably close to if not my favourite out of the GOTY dolls I own.

Dd's McKenna arrived today. She is a Christmas present, so dd doesn't have her yet. However I took her out of the box to check her out and she is really gorgeous! Love her hair and her eyes. Dd and I are going to have a lot of fun styling her hair!

I am in love with my new McKenna! This is my first doll with her mold so I’m excited to have a different face in my collection. My McKenna is a little hippy compared to my PM dolls but has tight limbs. Her hair is amazing! Her hair is thick and has that beautiful caramel shade. I’m happy that my McKenna has the short hairs in the back. My only complaint is that she had a lot of fly-away hairs when I first took her out of her box and brushed her hair. She shed more than the expected few hairs but she should hopefully stop shedding by now. I like McKenna’s meet outfit. I love the top but am not crazy about the leggings. I would prefer something different for pants but I can understand having something shorter for a gymnast. The shoes are all right. I’m not horribly offended by McKenna’s mini ponytail but that’s probably because I’ve worn my hair like that when I was her age. I like the doll by herself but what makes her extra special and exciting to me other than her hair is that she is a gymnast. I took some gymnastic classes when I was really young and have been interested in gymnastics for many years. I also think this adds a unique aspect to future play. I am extremely happy that I purchased McKenna. She is perfect for me and I am looking forward to many hours of play with her! A+

This is the only photo of her I have on my computer in something that's not her own, oddly. I let my sister borrow her for a few weeks and I really missed her while she was gone, so that's how I know mine is a keeper. Good luck making your decision!

I absolutely LOVE McKenna! I really think that if I could only have one doll (heaven forbid!), she is the one I would keep. She is so pretty, incredibly sweet-looking and is so versatile - she looks good in everything in my opinion. Here is a photo I just posted in the GrandMary's Treasures holiday 2012 accessories thread:
