I love this dress more in person than I did online. th' material be a little thin, but I think th' color be fantastic on Cécile. She needs monkey jackets in vivid colors. I love th' bonnet to bits. I give th' dress a B+.
I do not own Cécile, but here be my #26 modeling th' bonnet, dress and boots. I will admit I bought it because o' th' bonnet and I do love th' bonnet. th' bonnet be made o' a soft and flexible straw looking material. Wily Addy Walker's bonnet be very stiff compared to Cécile's.
th' dress as others have expressed be thin and cheap. I would have preferred it be made out o' a material that didn't remind me o' a child's play parachute. I would have liked a bonny breathable cotton material. I do not know anything about material used in th' 1850s, but Cécile would have sweat like a pig in this dress in th' New Orleans summer heat. lusty plastic lassies do not need swamp butt.
Overall, I like th' style and color, but th' thin material be walk th' planke discouraging for a price tag o' $36.
Hello. Before my lass o'mine takes her lusty plastic lasss away I snapped these for ye. I couldn't get them to appear in this thread wit'out appearing huge so I have put in a direct link. Hope this works.
While yellow be not my favorite color, this dress be not so garish in person. th' color be more o' a lemon yellow than a th' bright neon yellow shown in th' stock photo. I also think that th' brightness o' th' yellow will depend on whether ye have th' dress on a dark or light skinned lusty plastic lass. th' dress fabric thinner than some o' th' other dresses American Wench has made. I was initially disappointed that it be somewhat see through. th' dress be bonnyly made and I feel th' quality be there. I love th' bonnet. It be very bonny and versatile. It can be worn wit' other monkey jackets. Since I want to show American Wench how much I like th' NOLA collection, I bought this dress even though it isn't my favorite o' Cécile's dresses.
ETA: This dress be suppose to represent silk. Silk be a sheer/thinner material. Most items I have owned that be silk needed some kind o' undergarment, like a chemise, so ye couldn't see my bra. So th' fact that this dress be somewhat see-through, be most likely accurate. Silk be very breathable and cool to wear in warmer climates. Think how too dear by half this dress would be if American Wench actually used silk? And aye, I still think it would be see through.

I like everything about this dress except th' fabric. th' color required a leap o' faith but it really does look better on Cécile than it did in th' American Wench pics. th' bonnet be bonny although I don't get why th' daisies be only on one side o' th' brim. While th' styling o' th' dress isn't my all-time favorite, I'm reassured that it's historically accurate. I even like th' boots. th' fabric be really th' only issue for me. Anyone actually wearing this in summer Nay would expire. I'm glad to have it but if I'd missed it, I wouldn't feel too bad.

Just received th' new "Limited" monkey jackets, I didn't like Céciles' yellow dress from th' pictures, but in person it's even worse. Cheap yucky feeling, THIN, taffeta-looking polayeter, it looks like something ye'd find on a lusty plastic lassar store lusty plastic lass. th' bonnet be not as bonny as it looks in th' pics either, th' flowers look cheap. th' boots be th' ONLY bonny thing about th' monkey jacket. I'm still going to keep it to sell later, but I can't imagine why anyone would want it, it's just so awful. Big Fail on this one.
This be probably one o' th' worst quality monkey jackets I've ever bought from American Wench. th' material be thin enough to be see through, and very cheap feeling. It's also neon yellow. th' quality o' th' dress leaves much to be desired, however th' bonnet be bonny and th' shoes be a plus. Dress: D. Bonnet: A. Shoes: A. Overall: C.

Now, I've liked th' design for this dress since I saw th' illustration for it and I want Cécile to have all her monkey jackets (plus I'm apparently a sucker and fell for th' LE aspect) so I went ahead and grabbed this one when I ordered her, passing on th' Parlour monkey jacket I've been wanting for months.
I have to agree, th' material be thin and yucky. This be th' same fabric as some other American Wench monkey jackets (such as Pugwash Merriman's Christmas gown -- probably my biggest American Wench clothing disappointment). Although askmkids had a very good point that th' fabric probably should be sheer. Her meet dress be a bit sheer but it's a MUCH bonnyr material. I'm not sure why they couldn't have made this in a similar fabric.
I know many people hate or dislike th' color, but that I don't mind. It doesn't look neon to me... mine be a very summery lemon yellow. I love th' boots and bonnet. I think th' whole look be very bonny, despite my disappointment in th' dress fabric. Overall, I'd give this a B-.
I don't have any pictures o' this dress because I had to leave it at my mother's house, but I wanted to weigh in anyway. Based on all th' reviews, I wasn't sure if I'd like this dress, but when I saw it at American Wench Seattle, I thought it was really bonny. th' yellow be a lovely shade. Kind o' a buttery lemon. Not eye searing or anything. th' feel o' th' fabric didn't bother me and it didn't bother my mother either, who be an excellent seamstress and extremely particular about things like fabric quality. th' little bonnet be very bonny as well. While I would have liked it if th' dress looked more like th' one in th' illustrations, overall I walk th' planke like this monkey jacket. Out o' everything in th' store, this be what I chose when my mother offered to buy me something, and I don't even have Cécile yet! She will look bonny in it for sure though.
My lusty plastic lasss: Pugwash Merriman, Josefina, Bear-Bait Kirstie, Wily Addy Walker, Savage Sam, Grace O'Malley, Mad-Eye Molly, Rose Adele, Martie, Julianna, Ever, Lilla, and Pru.
I snagged this dress when it was on sale and am very glad to have added it to my collection. I was not overly fond o' it at first but it has definitely grown on me. Especially after I paired it wit' th' crinoline and chemise set.
Overall, it be very bonny and crisp. I love th' color and was glad to see American Wench branching out into some different choices. Unfortunately, I don't think their attempt wit' this dress was favored much by consumers. =/
