Delicious desserts for dolls, inspired by New Orleans! This set includes pretend treats for two: A trio of beignets, faux pastries dusted with powdered sugar. A ceramic plate decorated with an authentic design from the 1850s. A footed glass bowl filled with pieces of faux fruit: peach and apple, pear and lemon, a pineapple, and a bunch of bananas. A delicate glass pitcher with a genuine flower motif, along with two matching drink glasses.
I just fell in love with C & MG's Glassware & Food set. It is very well made and very nice quality that reminds of the PC days. The glass fruit bowl is very heavy and beautifully made. The glasses and pitcher are also very nicely made and are a very nice quality glass. The plate is gorgeous. It is heavy with a beautiful finish. The food is also very nice and is not cheap looking or feeling at all. AG did a great job with this set. Although this set costs $68, I feel it is worth the price tag due to the high quality glass, attention to detail, and beauty of this set.
Sorry. I don't have pictures at this time due to this being an Easter gift for my DD. I will try and see if grandma will allow me to take pictures so I can post them here. I saw there wasn't a review on this set yet and wanted to post my findings.

I agree with the above posters. The set is really nice. The glass pieces are good quality, especially the fruit bowl. The ceramic plate is heavy and very nice. The carafe and goblets are nice, but the fruit bowl is better quality. The design on them is a decal, but very nice. I don't think it will peel easily. The fruit pieces (minus being stuck together) are very good quality, as are the beignets. Overall, I give the set an A-. It would get an A+ if it were about $15 cheaper, or if it included individual plates for the girls. Now, for what everyone wants, pics! Well, add me to the chorus above. I love this set. Mine just came in the mail this morning. Really pretty - a definite A. I wish the fruit were not joined but that is only a minor flaw.

Picked this up at the store yesterday. A lovely set.
I give this set an A. It isn't an A+ because I think the price is just a little too high compared to the other historical food sets. I do love that all the glassware is really glass not plastic. Like others noted, I wish the joined pieces of fruit were separate.

After the set sold out temporarily, I panicked and bought the set. I still think the price is outrageous for what you get but it is a cute set. I love the fruit cup. It seems to be the right size and it makes a nice display. Sure it would be best if none of the fruit was clumped together but at least all of it wasn't and it is cute. The glassware set is nice though I wish the pitcher had a handle. It looks a wee bit small compared to the fruit display. The glasses look right but I think the pitcher (or is it more of a carafe?) looks small. The beignets are not as realistic as I hoped but they are certainly a step up compared to some of the AG food. The plate is well-made and a good size. I give this set a B.

Just for purposes of general interest, a tale of 3 peaches- on the left is one from the NOLA treats, then Samantha's, and on the right is the one from the Kwanzaa accessories set.

I love this set! It's a bit pricey at $68, but everything except the food is glass. C and MG glassware 1 by Elizabeth, on Flickr The biggest thing that you have to watch out for is that in some sets the glasses are different sizes! C and MG glassware 2 by Elizabeth, on Flickr As you can see, it's a BIG difference! I ordered my set through my PS during the "sell out panic". My mom paid for the set and put it up for my birthday. After I received it for my birthday I noticed that the glasses were different sizes. I called my PS about the problem and asked her to check to see if they had any sets that the glasses were the same size. She pulled two sets from the stock room and checked them. Both sets were like mine. So she just swapped the glasses around so that there was a short set and a tall set. She let me pick which set I wanted. I picked the tall set. When the replacement set came I just swapped glasses since I had already opened all the food. My PS was grateful that I informed her of this defect. She hadn't heard anything about it. Now she is going to be much more aware when she sells this set and check the glasses. Both of us are baffled as to how this defect could even happen since the glasses are made with a mold. When I first saw this set online I was afraid that the fruit was going to be all one clump and the beignets clumped. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they weren't. Yes, the peach is clumped with the apple and the pear is clumped with the lemon. But I can live with that. Delicious desserts for dolls, inspired by New Orleans! This set includes pretend treats for two:

I agree that at original retail of $68 this set is spendy, but the cost is consistent with AG's other dish/food set pricing. Whatever your feelings about 'clumped' food pieces, this set is of high overall quality and it is a charming addition for casual or outdoor scenes. As with much of the rest of the NOLA collection, I would not recommend this set for very young or accident-prone children (or adults!) due to the fragility of the glass pieces. And echoing previous comments, be sure to examine your set carefully since the glasses can often be of different sizes! Mine are ever so slightly different but not enough to bug me, but YMMV and the set is notorious for these inconsistencies. Great photos have been posted above showing all the details, so I'll just add a few more to show the set in the context of a scene: This set debuted with several other items in this collection that were marked 'limited edition' and there has been some confusion as to whether the Glassware and Treats are also available for a limited time only. As of this writing, AG has not specified a retirement date for this set.

A friend has this and it really was so well executed. it's a shame the fruit isn't separate, but the beignets are wonderful and the glass bowl is super well made. I love that the plate replicates a plate design from the era and the painted pitcher and glasses are lovely. MG and C can have a sweet garden party.
