I got Courtyard furniture set and returned it immediately. I just don't like that color. I guess I would have prefered a cream or white set. I am not particularly a collector of AG doll furniture because the dolls don't look right when sitting (in my opinion).
I just got this set for Steampunk Addie andCécileand we're all thrilled. It's gorgeous, well made, and very sturdy. They can't wait to have coffee there.
I know a lot of people have complained about the paint finish. It doesn't bother me at all since I know how badly iron rusts and paint is one of the few ways to protect it. When I was in New Orleans all the iron I saw was painted. Some was black and some in colors. Some even had the detail work painted intricately.
According to a PDF from New Orleans, green and bronze were the historic colors to paint cast iron since it was more brittle and more likely to rust than wrought iron.
At least it's not pink!!!
I cam also attest it is sturdy. I dropped one of the chairs on the tiled kitchen floor and it didn't break. A couple of tiny paint chips but that's it.
I bought the set, then finally returned it. It is well made, sturdy, heavy, and very well packaged. I just don't like the color. It is too bright. I could have gone with a more subdued turquoise, but I agree with Rexphiles - at least it isn't pink! I decided to stay with Kit's set which I already have.
I have it an like it a lot. I love the display that it makes. It is nice and sturdy, actually quite heavy, and no problems with chipping paint. But, it has been displayed only, so I don't know how it would stand up to play. My only complaint it that the top of the table is a little small. It doesn't easily hold all of there treat set and I worry about something falling off and getting broken. The dolls kind of slide out of the chairs, unless you prop their feet against the table, which is doable.
If you have the funds, I would get it. It has been rumored that it will be gone at the end of the year.

I have it and I just love it! Like others have said, it is nice and sturdy and I have not had a problem with the paint chipping off. It is quite heavy and the top is a bit small but I still would not take it back. If I were you, I would buy it before the end of the year just to make sure you get one. You can always return it if you don't like it! Good luck!
We have this set and it is just wonderful. I bought it immediately when it was released, as I find both the color and the style to be classic NOLA for both historical and modern displays. It is very heavy but I find that to be a plus, since our dolls don't tend to sit very well without sliding out of chairs, and the weight of the table keeps that from happening when they are seated at the table. It is intended to be a patio or courtyard set, not a dining table, so it isn't as large as Kit's table. Think bistro or bar sized table, not dining.

I will echo all that has been said here about the table and chairs. Great quality. I had read that it was heavy, but I was still surprised by just how heavy. I have Kit's table and chairs and the NOLA table and chairs and I use them very differently. The NOLA table I use as more of an accent table for displays. Kit's table gets more use in a dining setting.
