Another ingeniuous idea from American Girl. I Got this For My Birthday and absolutely love it. It's Beautiful and Bigger than i imagined. The Sounds it makes are Wonderful soothing Jungle Sounds. The Only Downside to this is the dolls head has to go behind the bar to hold her in, other wise she falls out! Good item and absolutely wonderful A++

This set is very visually appealing. The jungle sounds are nice... however, Jess cannot sit in it! She has to lean backward and looks entirely ridiculous. You have to wrestle her head under the bar. Once she's actually sitting/ reclining in the chair, you cannot set her head because of the bar obscuring her face.
Fun for play, but you need to lengthen the hanging structure for Jess to be displayed in this piece.

I agree Colette. This is my biggest problem with Jess' Palm Tree the length of the string and ridiculous Jess looks when she's resting in the chair. It just seems flawed since it's supposed to be where she sleeps, yet it does not recline enough and it doesn't allow her to sit up straight so basically she's in a very foolish position. I'm also not too impressed by the sounds because they are sort of muffled since they are one the bottom of the tree. This may be because I have carpeting and that muffles the sound a bit. This is a very cute piece, however I give it a B.

I adore this swing! The first time I saw it I knew our dolls had to have it, and it looks even better in person. I had a bit of difficulty getting Jess in the swing the first time I tried it, but after working with it for about a minute she sat/reclined perfectly, and I haven't had any trouble sitting any other dolls in it since. I can get dolls in it sitting up with their eyes open and reclining back with their eyes closed as well. Here is the only picture that I have of it at the moment, but I will try to get some more. I don't think the bar obscures the dolls' faces. If I had taken this picture from Felicity's eye level you probably could have seen her entire face. Grade: A+

Oh, the joy of lugging this box around NYC in the middle of December after leaving AGPNY. :] Actually, I carried my shopping bags and my step dad carried the box, but let's get onto the review. :]
I love this set! It's my only piece of furniture but I love it anyways. The blanket and pillow sit on Jess's bed with Toshi and I usually put other stuff on the swing. Though my cats had fun with this and the edges of the fabric are torn. Sigh.
But it is a great set! My batteries died and I have no idea what kind this swing takes.

How much was the original price of this tree swing? $44 If you have any questions about original prices of items, be sure to check out Meg's Guide which is just a click of the 'home' button on this forum.

I'll fulfill my duty to the board by continuing to review every AG thing I own. And while I funnily enough don't own Jess' Tree Swing, I do own the pillow from the set!
I love the pillow though. I got it in a lot that came along with my 3-in-1 bed I got off craigslist. The colors are very nice and the design is ambiguous enough to fit in any style. I like to use the pillow on the chair from the old cabana furniture set. The colors match well.
