The 2003 keepsake ornament series from Hallmark featured birthday scenes with favorite animals. Kit's has her sitting in her green lawn chair in her birthday dress, holding on of the paper fans, while Grace lies on the ground at her feet. The background scenery from the box is of her garden, like on the illustration of Happy Birthday, Kit!. The inside of the box tells about how she wanted a Robin Hood party but Aunt Millie came and threw a different kind of part, which was just as good. The keepsake card has a portrait of Kit holding a paper fan. The detail on this ornament is amazing, as with all the Hallmark/AG ornaments I have. It's also a much nicer paint job than the 2002 series ornament for Kit, I must say! Possibly this is because there is more green to offset her yellow/pink coloring. Or else each ornament varies because they're all hand-crafted. (So the backs of the boxes say...) Grade: A--- KERI

The 2003 ornament series featured the historical girls in their birthday finery with their pets. Heeeeere's Molly: She comes in just under 4 inches, from base to tip of her crown. Although it's hard to see in my blurry photo, her glasses are grey and protrude just slightly. That adds some dimensionality to her face. She is portrayed wearing her white ruffled birthday pinafore and crown, and is holding her new puppy Bennet. Squee, doggie! Bennet is rendered quite nicely (note to self to get better photos). I think I like this ornament best of all of the 2003 series, because the colors are so vibrant and cheerful and glossy. Best of all, since we use these for display and not actual ornaments, Molly's birthday crown hides the unsightly hook that sticks out of her head. We don't use these figurines as much as the earlier set of the Historicals in their Christmas finery, but we get them out for display now and again. We have all but Samantha and Kit. Same great quality as the original set (except for those ugly glasses of Molly's, but they're better than the Christmas version so that's something at least). Felicity. Ignore the dust. Kirsten: Addy: Now retired, these ornaments come up regularly on EBAY and can still sometimes be found on Hallmark overstock tables. Even NRFB, I would not pay more than $10 for them.

Out of the 2 Molly ornaments that I have, I definitely like this one better. Her glasses are not as awkward or thick as they are in her 2002 ornament.

I love the chair in this ornament, very detailed. Samantha looks very sweet in her birthday outfit. While I do have a Christmas tree hook on her, I do not hang her on the tree. The Hallmark ornaments are fairly heavy and don't hang very well. I've had these ornaments for awhile now, but haven't had a place to display them until this year.

This is one of my favorites out of all the Hallmark ornaments. I love her chair and birthday outfit anyway, so of course I like them in ornament form. Her face is very sweet, I tried to get a closer view in the third picture. It's also nice that the hook is in her back instead of sticking out of the top of her head. I don't hang them, so that position is nicer when they're on display.

I love the detail in this ornament, especially in the log and on Kaya's dress. The pups are really cute, and if I remember correctly they're actually fuzzy (I already put myornaments away). Even though the hook is clearly visible, I'm glad it's not sticking out of the top of her head since I do not hang them.

I like the vivid colors in Josefina's outfit. Sombrita is adorable although she's more of a pale gray and white in ornament form while the doll size Sombrita is black and white. I'm not thrilled that the hook is in her head, but I choose to ignore it since I don't hang them.

I think this may be my favorite of my four AG ornaments. Miss Felicity plays her guitar with little Posie watching her. I think it's just adorable. The detail on these ornaments is amazing and this one is no exception. Her apron has little flowers on it. The guitar and Posie both have real ribbons (glued so not to come undone, but it's glued carefully so not to gob up and ruin the prettiness). I especially love little Posie on this ornament; she's fuzzy, has the real ribbon, and has a cute little bell too (the bell is not real, just a mold). She looks so sweet. Please excuse the bad photos. Camera doesn't like to focus the way I want it to. Front of the ornament. You can see here how Posie isn't as defined as Felicity is, due to her texture. Back of the ornament. Felicity's sweet face. Close ups of Posie. Maybe her being fuzzy (or felty? I don't really know) next to a hard mold didn't help with the camera focusing. But here you can make out the little bell.
