My DD10 got this for her birthday in April this year, 2012. I was very disappointed in material they chose for the nightgown. It is very thin and is completely see through. If she were going to wear this at a sleep over, she would have to wear something underneath it for modesty's sake.
On a good note, the elastic at the waist is completely encased in material so it doesn't "scratch" against little girl's sensitive skin.
