Finally an outfit for Ivy. It is very cute on, eventhough it is terrycloth. I had an outfit similar that my mom made me. It has velcro in the back. The shoes fit easily. I did not put the bandana on, but it does look cute on. I give this outfit an A.
Ivy beats the heat in this one-piece terry-cloth romper! It features a wide red collar, big patch pockets, and the ultimate in '70s style: a rainbow waistband. Includes flip-flop sandals and a red bandanna to tie back her hair in the summer sun.
Adorable! I totally had a terry-cloth romper as a young girl in the 70's. This romper has velcro on the back for easy dressing. Easy to put on and take off. Flip-flops are orange and have the clear band on the back to help them stay on. Outfit looks fabulous on Julie too! Grade A.

Ivy's romper is nice and soft and well made. The shoes are the same as the ones that came with Julie's 2-in-1 Summer set (now called her swim set). The only difference is that Julie's have a textured pattern on the bottom and Ivy's don't.
I finally bit the bullet and completed Ivy's massive collection by buying the romper, now that it's on sale at $14. My Ivy is a modern girl and refuses to wear it, though I can tell it would look cute on her. This outfit really looks nice on many dolls, but it's really, really 60s or 70s in style. I had one very similar to it that was so comfortable, when I was young teen or so. Enen with a multicolor built in "belt". But it's just not a piece one would see on young girls today, except at a beach or pool. So this is an outfit that, yes, can be worn today and not be out of place, but generally isn't seen. Not so cool and stylish.
So my Skipper AG, #17 will get this outfit and she will be happily fashionable in it. Looks terrific on her. The red bandana is, of course, classic and the orange flip flops as well. That's what we all wore those days.
I give this outfit an "A" in authenticity as an outfit worn often in the 70s. It also looks great on the dolls. But it hasn't done well at all, because it doesn't fit well with today's outfits. This is something that happens with a number of Julie outfits, I've noticed.

LIke Jamirae, I was a completist for Ivy and just had to have all of her things. I bit the bullet at $14 and got it. TBO, Ivy has only worn this once. I personally can't stand the outfit but Dd said Ivy had to have it. It is true to the style, color, material…everything. I realize I have Julie and Ivy but I HATE a lot of the 70's fashion.
I was Ivy's age during the 70's and I remember having this outfit. I didn't like it then and still don't. I will give it an "A" for accuracy but the collar bugs me to no end. Ivy's hair keeps going under it.
