I just got this set about two weeks ago for Lindsey and I love it! The only things I'm a bit disappointed in was that the gelt were plastic and had no real weight to them. I've also found that getting the candles into the menorah is a tight squeeze. My favorite part of this set would have to be the Star of David necklace. A+ for this set!

I LOVE the necklace, it is gorgeous. And I absolutely ADORE the menorah. It is heavy and well made. However the candles are plastic, and very easy to lose. I have lost several. Also they are just candles, no fake flame or anything. Also the coins are very cheap, light, plasticy. But the other items in this set make up for it.
I give this set an A-. It is a good price, though!

Hanukkah Gifts Item# GCAHR $14 "To celebrate Hanukkah with her American Girl doll, she can use everything in this set: * A menorah with pretend candles * A silver Star of David necklace and six golden coins, called gelt * A dreidel—a toy that Jewish girls have loved for centuries" I love this set. It is definitely worth the cost. The Menorah is real metal (3" x 4"), the candles (1 1/2") are a rubbery/plastic. The coins (7/8" diameter) are plastic and the dreidel (1 1/2" tall) is wooden. The Star of David (1/2") necklace is the best part. Lindsey loves it. Grade A. Lindsey and the Hanukkah Gifts

I have the older set from the 1990's and once in, it is very difficult to get the candles out. I broke some of them trying. You might want to sand down the candles a little to make them smaller.

Same here with the older version - once the candles are IN, they're there for good! I wish I had thought to sand them down a bit beforehand.
