A+ I have to give this wheelchair the highest rating because it is so realistic looking! It is made of blue metal and a sturdy black material (nylon?)for the seat. The two wheels move realistically and their are two levers that you can adjust to stop the wheels. There is even a little pocket on the side for a book or magazine! So cute!

We had this wheelchair and thought it was terrific, especially when one of my daughter's non-AG dolls had a detached leg for an extended period of time. My son loved it in particular and would often take the doll "for a ride" when he was in preschool. Thankfully, it was quite durable! It stayed in excellent shape despite some very active play.  |

I really like the wheelchair too! My dolls take turns sitting in it and I have to admit that I love wheeling them around. WHHHEEEEEE!!!  |

I have had nothing but issues with two of these things. Both had the handles break off. Annoying as heck. I can't wait to get around to returning the darn things and get something else.

I think this is very realistic looking but I had both the handles break off! I would give it a B. Would be an A if it still had handles.

I got my Wheelchair used. One of the handles was already off when I got it but I don't mind! Julie is always the one pushing Sam around. (Cause thats the kind of person Julie is) It is very realistic looking, it even has little brakes and a pocket on the side. Now the only thing that would make this better is a Feel Better Kit... A from me!

I got this when it first came out. I'd actually written them a letter about a year earlier asking them to make a doll wheelchair so I like to think it was my idea!  I have to say after using a wheelchair for a few months myself and getting into some hijinks with the brakes I really appreciate that the doll one has brakes and is very realistic as a temporary wheelchair (not spot-on as a permanent/long-term wheelchair). It got a LOT of heavy play. And now 12 years later it's still in great shape. The only thing missing is part of one of the handles but that's not a big deal considering how long I've had it and how much it's been used. I've even had little kids sit in/on it and the seat is now a little low but no real damage from that either so in my experience it's held up very well. I definitely think it's worth the money and I got a lot of play out of it. |

I purchased this wheelchair from Ebay as I wanted the earlier model for two reasons. #1- it isnt' lavender, and #2- it's made of metal. This chair has seen lots of action, esp. with a 2 year old pushing it throughout the house, trying to sit on it himself, and moving the legrest levers up and down multiple times. It's quite sturdy and has lots of play value, fits the dolls well and "wheels" around easily too. I give this version of the wheelchair an A+.

I'll also chime in that it's very sturdy and well worth the money. I have the older blue set with the rubber wheels and bought it used but it still looks brand new. I also wish it would fold up due to storage issues but that feature would have probably added more to the price and made it less of a sturdy piece so it's a trade-off.

I have the older blue one, too. I remember tucking in the AG magazines and the AG paper paper dolls set in the side pocket along with one end of the little magnetic spinning toy.
The handles were convenient place to hang the little thermos which was supposed to contain hot chocolate.
Mine has held up well.

For the American Girl who needs her own wheels to get around, this sturdy wheelchair is just the ticket. The footrests are fully adjustable, and there’s a side pocket for important stuff. There’s no stopping her now!The other reviews say that this is metal, but mine isn't made of metal. It's thick, blue plastic. The wheels are rubber and the wheel-bar you push with is metal. The doll has a little trouble staying seated in it, but it's a very fun piece to have. Grade B

I have Cerebral Palsy so I was thrilled when this came out! I still have it, I am hoping to find a place for my JYL to sit in it in my room. I remember getting a new wheelchair after my doll got hers and I picked blue to match.  It'd be awesome if AG added a character/doll who had a disability. Her books would be awesome! |
