I like this outfit, too. I don't know if there is actually an outfit that I don't like. NE way, the shoes are a bit difficult and the fabric strap on one of them is too big. I have found this the case on both the shoes that came with the dress, and a replacemet pair after DD lost one of the originals. Anyone else have difficulty with the shoes?

Some difficulty with the shoes. They really don't make the hair on the dolls suitable for chopsticks. Should have included a butterfly clip for a twist rather than the bobby pins.

I have the worse trouble with these shoes, I wonder if it is the shiney material that makes them fall off so easily. They really just slide right off her foot. I make sure to use clear elastics in a figure eight on these so we dont have a lost shoe!!

My Butterfly Brocade is havinga big problem - the brocade is coming off the dress in shreds. . .I am going to call AG for a replacement dress. I've only put it on dollies 2-3 times. Big thumbs down on this one, although the color is amazing on Marisol.

Love the dress- hate the shoes. Ours is getting pulls in the material as well, but we've had it for awhile so I don't think I can send it back.

I did not like this outfit. I did not want this outfit. My ddd bought it for me for my birthday along with the dark skinned AGT doll with bangs. The dress looks fabulous on her and I absolutely adore it!!! Of course my dd enjoyed the fact that she was right and I was wrong. LOL

My daughter loves this outfit, and I like it okay. We were able to use the hair pins with no problem, and we don't have a lot of issues with the shoes. That said, the brocade on the dress is pulling apart in shreds. I got it at MCM, so I really have no recourse as far as sending it back. The purse is adorable, and the dolls do look very cute in this outfit!

I have this outfit and I think it is just beautiful. I haven't had any problems with the brocade on the dress so far, but I'm really not that happy with the shoes. I never paid much attention to the shoes until I read several posts on HB about them, and when I put mine on one of my dolls I noticed they didn't want to stay on. I must not have hair skills, because I can never get the hair sticks to stay in a dolls' hair properly (that is probably more human error than anything else though). The other flaw besides the shoes is the purse. Somehow one of the three strings on the purse has broke. The strings are fairly thin so I'm sure that's the problem, and when I discovered this about a year later and called CS, it was too late to get a replacement. Overall I give this outfit an A because although I like the set, there are some problems.

I don't like it that much...... It's ok, but I would rather get the sight seeing outfit or the kick'n back outfit. I got mine as a gift from someone who liked it more that I did! I appriciate it, though. The shoes, and purse fall off allot though. I give it a B-.

Okay, here's my long review, with pictures. I am a bit disenchanted by this outfit, to say the list. The first thing that annoyed me was that I got it for Liz, my PM doll, and it wouldn't fit her. At all. The dress was a pain to get closed, and the shoes wouldn't go on at all. I finally gave up, put Liz back in her Heroes-themed outfit, and let Mary model for me. Before I get into that, let me break it down: The dress itself is made of nice material, but the design wasn't what I expected. I guess I wanted it to have frog-closures, and instead there are pearls where the frogs would go. It has the "no stick" velcro, which didn't stick to Mary or Liz's hair too much, but it stuck to both of their underwear and snagged it terribly. I'd give just the dress a B+. The purse. (Sorry the pic is so dark, but my camera has two flash settings: too bright so you can't see anything, and off and makes everything blurry.) The strap is a little small, as you'll see in the final pic, and although there is a snap closure on it, I can see it easily ripping off. I stuck the bobby pins in there so I don't lose them, since I doubt I'll use them any time soon. I'm also not much for accessories in general, but that's just me. The butterfly on it is plastic and has some glitter on it. C-The stick-on earrings. These were probably my favorite part of the outfit. I tested them, and yes, they can be re-used. They will stick to the board and restick to the doll's ear even after repeated use. They stick pretty well from what I can tell, too. (I know because Claire is wearing a pair and took a header off of my computer stand, and they didn't move.) I like how it came with the clear ones as well as the blue, so they can work with other outfits. AThe bracelet. No matter what I did, I couldn't get a good pic of it. It's pretty meh. I could make something nicer myself. It has a triple-row pattern of diamond-shaped multi-faceted beads, the two outer rows being the turquoise color of the dress, and the middle row being an alternating pattern of green and white. I guess I wouldn't have gone with that shade of green myself. The clasp is magnetic, so you don't break the bracelet putting it on and taking it off, and there's a tiny metal take with "American Girl" engraved on it attached to the clasp, which depending on your preference, will either strike you as really cute or really annoying. I personally thought it was the cutest part of the bracelet. B+The hair chopsticks, bobby pins, and instructions. Which don't work. Okay, this could just be me and the fact that I need detailed, step-by-step instructions to accomplish anything (or to be shown in person, in which case I can do it in two seconds). Basically the instructions are "grab hair and twist" followed by "stick in bobby pins and hair chopsticks". No advice on where to stick them or how. I experimented a few times with Liz's hair so I could show you all how it works, but all it did was result in Liz's hair being very messy and Liz being very mad at me. Mary's hair is too short to do it. I've yet to see anyone who has succeeded in getting the hair chopsticks in, so if anyone has doll hair chopsticks and succeeded in putting them in, please show me. It's a shame that I can't do it, because the chopsticks are very pretty (shown below). The bobby pins are black, but have a sort of iridescent quality to them. I guess they're okay. The hair chopsticks, trying to get a detail of them. They are a pearly blue color (similar to the blue glasses) and have tiny butterflies on them with swirls to either side of them. The prettiest part is that the back of the chopsticks act as a sort of a mirror (they're clear all the way around, though, as far as I can tell), which makes a pretty effect when it's reflected in the back. Chopsticks themselves get an A- for appearance, but D- for usability and lousy instructions. Bobby pins get a C for being okay for what they are. The whole outfit. Could have sworn I got a picture of just the sandals, but I guess I didn't. The sandals are terrible. Don't even think of trying them on PM feet, and they don't fit right on Mattel feet, either. The toes don't come out of the end, and the only thing holding them on is a strap in the back. They have the same plastic butterflies as the purse on them. F for the sandals. The entire outfit gets a B- for me. What you can use of it is cute, but most of it isn't usable/easily usable, especially the important parts like the shoes and hair decorations. The extras are pretty cute, but not cute enough to make up for the fundamental flaws. ~Mod edit to remove dead image links.~

The Butterfly Brocade Outfit is so great. It's my favorite modern dress by far. Why did they use velcro on the dress? The string is peeling. I find that with the shoes it helps to put one piece of double sided scotch tape on it. I'd post pictures, but i can't figure out how.

I love this dress! It is adorable and looks good on practically all my dolls. I remember as a 10-year-old I was very frustrated because I couldn't do her hair the way the instructions do it, but the chopsticks are cute! Grade: B+

I got this outfit used from a friend and I only have the dress and the shoes, so my review is only on those items. The Dress: The dress has a nice weighty feel to it and the color is a gorgeous aqua-esque blue. The brocade has a nice pattern of butterfly's throughout. The dress does get pulls rather easily and I have to be very careful that nothing snags it when I am handling it. I thought the dress had frog closures but it just has three tiny pearls sewn on for decoration. And now for the shoes: The shoes are pure rubbish. They are way to big for the dolls feet and the strap on the back of the shoe does nothing to keep the shoe from falling off. I literally can't move a doll across the room without both shoes falling off. The butterfly's on the shoes are metal and are sewn on. I like the shoes in theory but they just made them way to big. Overall I give this outfit a B- because while it looks nice when on, it has issues that make the outfit not very usable for anything but display.
