1999- -Turtleneck with red navy and black strips going through the middle part -flared blue jeans -purple socks -black boots The good- The way the outfit looks all togther is pretty. THe bad- The jeans are to loose on the newer dolls
I like the fact that the jeans are flared; however, they don't really fit the butt on my dolls (they fit PM better than Mattel dolls, though). I think the sweater is okay, but I wish it were more finished on the bottom edge (it seems to me like it looks "cleaner" to tuck the shirt in, but then my doll looks dorky). The shoes and socks are pretty great, though-- the shoes are black leather boot things, and they're really easy to put on/take off. Laces are a little slippery. I LOVE the purple socks!

As the name suggests, these are definitely basics, designed to be everyday wear or mixed and matched with the Drawstring Cargoes and Plaid Skirt and Sweater sets. On its own, it can look a little plain; I always have to add a necklace, and sometimes the hoodie from the cargo set.
On the other hand, this is definitely very similar to what I wore around the millennium, flared jeans and rib knits.
I didn't have a problem with the fit of the jeans, but I do agree that the top looks unfinished, especially from the back. I always keep it tucked in because the velcro stops about halfway down.
I'd give this outfit a B; nothing wrong with it, but nothing special.[/a]
My dolls: Felicity, Sarah Elizabeth (#15, 2000's), Molly, Samantha, Elizabeth, Meg (#8, 1990's), Marcy (#21, 1950's), Emily, Lanie (2010's), Frances (#36, 1990's), Nellie, Shawn (custom, 1990's), Kirsten, Caroline
Jacky is wearing the new and improved blue jean basics (at least it's an improved version of the '95 blue jeans basics. I have used these jeans so much the velcro is starting to fray! The ribbed turtleneck is kind of plain but it works with the varsity jacket.
