I was very happy to purchase my Caroline doll! She doesn't fit my usual characteristics in a doll, but I find her to be lovely. She has unusual sea green eyes and long curly platinum blonde hair. I find her to make a lovely foil to my character Coral. Her wig isn't thick, but I wouldn't call it thin. It's a happy medium. It's quite long and I am concerned about maintaining her curls, but I am sure I can learn.

I got Caroline yesterday and am very happy. I haven't taken mine out of the box yet, but my sister-in-law opened hers immediately and her hair is silky smooth. Her curls are so bouncy and beautiful- they look just perfect draped over her shoulders. Her eyes are also a really gorgeous unique light pastel greenish color. I am not normally into blonde dolls, but her curls and eyes are so lovely I just had to have Caroline. I like her lighter eye brows as well. I love that she comes with pantalets and stockings similar to Marie-Grace's. Her little pink ballet flats are a bit plain, but they match her dress. Once I can bring myself to remove her from her box I will take more pictures. Here she is still in her box:

I am head over heels for this doll! I haven't taken her out of her box yet, either, but I have checked her over head to toe. I am blown away by those eyes! They are what I would call a seafoam green color, or a light aquamarine. Definitely a combo of blue and green, but leaning more towards the green side. Her skin is a lovely creamy color, and her lip coloring is just subtly rosy. Her meet outfit is pretty. The embroidered ribbon trim is especially lovely. I think the dress is a bit on the thin side, and wonder if she needs some sort of shift under it? I give her a very strong A+++, and I am enchanted with her stories and entire collection.

So my doll came today and I couldn't be happier with her. I really thought I wasn't going to like her since my first reaction to confirmed pictures of her was, "Oh lucky me, another blonde!" I pre-ordered her last week and now I'm so glad I did besides the obvious reason of free shipping. Those eyes are plain striking. I also read her story and I couldn't be more engrossed, makes me wish it was significantly longer.

Overall, the HIGHEST grade possible is warranted here. Here's my Caroline:

Caroline has three of my least favorite features: classic mold, blonde hair, curly hair. But I saw her in person and had to get her. She is GORGEOUS. Her curls were easy to get in order, and her eyes are the prettiest shade of seafoam green. It's about the same shade as Lakes Michigan and Huron around the Straits. She has the lovely short hairs so hairstyles can be done with her not exposing her wig cap A+

I picked up my new gal yesterday at AGP Seattle, but I had to go through quite a few to find the right one! My girl is very chubby, almost as chubby as some PM dolls I've seen!
She will not be staying as a historical, she is going to be re-named (sooner or later) and be my new model here at Kate Lauren Designs! We had our first photo shoot this morning, and she is the most photogenic doll I have ever seen! She looks great in anything, she can even pull off Mia's meet outfit! Her hair is easy enough to care for, I haven't had to do more than finger-curl it right out of the box. But, I hate her overly large body tag, as well as the lack of a "v" in her neck! She dosen't have the linebacker look, she just has weird shoulders... Oh well! I won't talk about her meet outfit, becasue it is already packed up to go to its new home! Anyways she gats an A+ from me!

I love Caroline! She is a very gorgeous doll with plentiful ringlet curls and gorgeous aquamarine decal eyes. I also noticed that her eyelashes tend to curl up a bit like Marie-Grace's do, but not as extreme. Her meet outfit is ok. A- for the total doll due to the meet outfit, a resounding A+ for the doll alone.

I ended up ordering Caroline during the pre-order deal with the Personal Shoppers. She was delivered on launch day but didn't get the chance to open her until the next day. Regardless, it was worth the wait! I love this doll, even though she has a classic mold (something that is in abundance with my collection) I wanted the new eyes and the blonde hair, plus she's Regency which sealed the deal.

Like the others stated above, she has aquamarine colored eyes, very light blonde curly hair and feathered brows. My dolls' wig is medium thickness with the shorthairs in the back, thank goodness. I am not skilled at doing doll hair but I need to practice so this is a great doll to do it with. The only issue with my doll was the people dressing her were not careful with her sock, and it was bunched up. I took them off the doll, and neither the shoe or the sock were damaged. She has the long body tag and the stuffing on my particular doll is actually perfect I think. Not overstuffed but not lacking anything either.

The meet outfit is cute- I love it but I think I will be putting it on another doll for when the modern dolls play "Regency Dress Up". Oh yeah- I renamed her Annabelle, her modern and historical character share this name. I am creating a character in a novel I'm writing and her name fit in the manuscript and with the doll. I read her first book last night and it was very well written- very exciting with lots of conflict to keep the story moving along.

Other than McKenna (because she's a gymnast) this is the first doll I have completely fell in love with at first site. I love her look. I've always wanted ag to come out with a doll with a blue/green eye aka. aquamarine.

Her face mold is the classic one but I think it works for her.

Her hair color is gorgeous. Its platinum blond. Julie and MyAg #22 are the only two other dolls to have this color. I like her loose curls as well. I have Lanie and her hair gets frizzy easily because she has much curlier hair. Caroline's hair seems more relaxed and probably can be finger curled. I also like the fact that her hair does not come in braids. They are really pretty, however I eventually take them out and have to straighten the braided hair so it matches the texture of the rest of the hair. This is just a preference thing. I love styling my dolls hair so that is why I do eventually take their braids out.


Great doll. I can't wait to take her home.

I received my Caroline doll today.

When AG first released pictures of her, I wasn't too thrilled and decided I wasn't going to get her. However, after finding out more info about her and seeing her full collection in September's catalogue, I changed my mind. I knew I had to have her and her entire collection.

Currently I am in an Outpatient Program at the hospital for mental health diseases (Depression, Anxiety, etc) so I told myself I would get her and her collection for myself as a recovery gift. After telling my grandmother my plans, she decided to order me Caroline and her six book set. Although I am still in the program, I am feeling much better than I have in years so I decided to cheat a little and take Caroline home early.

She is absolutely stunningly beautiful. Her hair is a thick, shiny white-blonde. Her eyebrows are a feathered golden blonde and her eyes are a gorgeous and unique color of sea foam green/blue. Her skin is soft, her limbs are very nice and tight (unlike some of my newer dolls) and her body is very very soft. She is very well-constructed and high-quality for a Mattel doll.

Her dress is very similar in looks to Felicity's summer gown. It is light pink with darker pink ruffles at the collar and sleeve cuffs. It has an embroidered sash. The fabric is thin but not at all cheap-feeling in my opinion. Her pantalettes are white with delicate lace trim at the bottom of each leg. No complaints there. Her stockings are standard AG white stockings and her shoes are pink pleather flats which are not difficult to get on and off.

She is my first curly-haired doll and I plan to just finger-style her hair. I will mist it with water if it gets really out of hand. But overall it seems manageable and I'm not too concerned. I would be worried about a younger child taking care of Caroline's hair, though.

I have read the first of her six books and it was very good. I look forward to reading the rest.

Overall a solid A+.

The quality of this doll seems high. By that, I mean not only was my particular doll impeccable, but all of the ones I opened to gently feel the wigs and examine looked in perfect shape, too. I'm impressed by that, after what I've been through recently with Emily. I bought and returned an Emily after I had searched diligently for a good part on her hair from among every available doll on the shelves. All of the other Emily dolls had gloppy parts, so I was pleased by my find, only to get her home and find her hair was unevenly cut, one might even say "chopped", she shed incessantly, and there were kinks in her straight hair. I could not do an exchange because I already knew mine was the best of the lot and the rest had more obvious wig defects that were visible. Maybe it was because she is possibly at the end of her run and they are at the bottom of their stock now.

So I went back and decided to get a curly haired lass instead. I considered 56, but the longer curls of Caroline beckoned, as did the fact she is a historical doll and comes with a story I can share with my daughter.

I found that with so many excellent quality samples to choose from, I could narrow my choice down even further to select for face shape. While they are all Classic faces, of course, each Caroline has a bit of a distinct look to her thanks to individual slight variations in the mold or the placement of the wig. I found one with a less chubby face and a pleasing profile. I noticed others had slightly wider or flatter faces, so anyone who prefers that look, has that option. The variations I must stress are very slight and subtle. Few children would notice them. And even though I prefer the Josefina mold, I think the classic looks beautiful on this doll. Skin tone is brighter and pinker compared to our Rebecca doll.

The hair is not a flat Barbie platinum. It's got the same beautiful subtle variation in tone that the excellent brunette and auburn wigs have. You may not see that well in official photos or even under the store lighting, but in normal household lighting, it's there.

There are short hairs in the wig, and they somehow seem to hold the longer hairs close to the "skull" so that flyaways and tangling isn't as bad as you might expect. The long curls are actually play-friendly. As they can get quite messy and still look beautiful and like they are meant to be that way. It's a contrast again, with my poor Em, who got unsightly flyaways when she got jostled (though I could quickly smooth her down again).

It takes me about five minutes with a pick and finger curling to set her hair to rights again after my daughter plays with her. You can see by the many photos of her on this forum that there are so many options for hairstyles with this beautiful doll.

Best of all, the entire two and a half days we've had her, she has shed exactly FIVE hairs total. You can't imagine how happy that makes me after the heartbreak of returning Marie Grace and Emily after watching them shed constantly and watching the lovely hair accumulate into a hair ball collection in the wastebasket. Even McKenna, another recent purchase that has proven to be a "keeper" sheds a wee bit.

We have only the first book that comes with the doll. My daughter, 8, is enthralled with the story and deeply moved by the hardships Caroline faces. The book itself is priceless for the one chapter "Grandmother's Advice". Grandmother indeed provides words to live by and I was deeply moved by this advice and example for my daughter.

I am not sufficiently educated to say how historically accurate this story or the characters are, but for me as a mom, it suffices that the story inspires both me and my daughter to want to research this time period more. Anything that inspires or encourages one to seek further education has a value unto itself.

Caroline and her mom and grandmother are strong, courageous women and good role models. Caroline may look like a delicate princess but she is a tough cookie with bold ambitions.

The doll's eyes are lovely, also. Initially I preferred the pinwheel style for blue and aqua eyes, but I have come to love and prefer this look for Caroline.

The dress fabric is thin. I admit I got spoiled by the feel of Emily's dress. But the dress will look nice and more complete with the accessory package, which I do not have.

Even if you are not into the classic face mold or platinum blonde dolls, you may be pleasantly surprised and fall in love as we did.

Update: my daughter and I are still immensely pleased with this doll. I've found the hair care video tutorial made by board member Wellies and posted under MAG #56's review thread for her #56 Zoe Marie Kate to be very helpful in refreshing and neatening Caroline's curls, too. We still have very minimal shedding with this doll. I tend to style the hair in a McKenna style to keep it neat during play.

Caroline is beautiful! Her eyes are mesmerizing. I would also say that they are more of a seafoam green, but at times, I can see hints of aquamarine. I love the length and color of her hair, but I haven't done a whole lot with it yet, so I can't say how easy/difficult it is to manage her curls. I don't think I will have too much trouble with them, though. Grade: A+

Her meet outfit is lovely. In fact, Caroline hasn't even changed out of yet, and she's been home for almost two days! (It's rare that my girls stay in their meet outfits for more than a day unless I haven't got any other outfits to change them into.) It's definitely one of my favorites. I don't have even one complaint about it. Grade: A+

Well, I'll start off by saying that when I first saw the AG stock photos, I thought she was particularly blah, drab, and boring. I didn't have any inkling to buy her, and I thought she was ugly in just about all the photos on americangirl.com. But then I went to AGP Seattle and couldn't believe my eyes. Could it be the same girl? She's one of the prettiest, most ic dolls I have ever seen. I went through several to pick out my perfect Cozi, and couldn't be happier. I find myself staring at her for minutes at a time because she's so beautiful. I'm in the process of developing a personality for her, because she won't (for the most part) be canon. I don't find regency dresses attractive.
Cozi has luscious curls that aren't as hard to maintain as I originally thought. They're lovely, thick, and perfect.
I do love her meet dress, which is weird because at first I thought it was quite ugly. But inperson it looked different. Her socks are a bit thick, and I would have preferred shoes with maybe a little bow or something, but over all I love her outfit.

I wish AG's photos could do her justice. I can't really describe it, but when you put her with any other doll, she outshines them.
Most assuredly an A+

I just got Caroline yesterday! Here are some pictures:



Hair: Caroline's hair is gorgeous! The curls are so perfect and bouncy. It had a lot of fly-aways once I took it out of the hairnet, but that can likely be fixed by spritzing a little water. Caroline is my first curly haired doll, and it's a little scary, but its prettiness makes up for that. I give it an A.

Face: Caroline has the prettiest eyes I've ever seen. They're decal (which I prefer), are are a pretty, pastel aquamarine. He skin is very fair and rosy, and she has the same nice, pink color to her lips that my #38 does. She has feathered eyebrows rather than line, which is nice and more realistic. I give it an A+.

Overall, I give this doll an A - A+. She has an A for now, while I learn how to take care of her hair, but once I get the hang of it, she's definitely worth of an A+! I highly recommend her for those who know how to handle curly hair.

Luckly I was able to get her for my 17th birthday, and I have no regrets! Her eyes are such a bright shade of blue, and her hair is bleach blonde and in nice curls. Caroline looks gorgeous in almost everything you put her in. There's nothing not to love about this doll A++++++

Caroline became Karolina Borisova Dragonova, a Bulgarian girl who lives with an older sister, Gergana (probably going to be Lanie). She is soft-spoken, kind and enjoys being around others while still avoiding the spotlight.

My Caroline (who I purchased from a board member) just arrived yesterday, and she is such a sweetheart! She is the first blond doll in my collection and the first with decal eyes, so despite her similarity to other AGs that have been released she feels very unique to me. I actually really like her fair hair and don't think it makes her look unrealistic, ghostly, or even particularly princess-y. In fact, I think her hair makes her look youthful, and her disheveled curls give her a kind of flyaway look. Her eyes are also pretty and I think a good match for her skin and hair color. Oddly enough, Caroline has a very wide face and wideset eyes compared to my other dolls. Also worth noting, one of her eyebrows and the part in her hair were a little bit to the side, which may be an issue with some dolls although I'm starting to get used to it.

She doesn't quite photograph exactly the way she looks - I feel like my particular doll has a serious or thoughtful expression.
