I adore this outfit! If I could find it in my size, I'd wear it everyday!
This outfit consists of a grey & white printed tank shirt, black stretch tights, a geometic print shrug, and faux leather sandals.
I found all of the pieces of this outfit (minus the shrug) to fit extremely tight, and all pieces were a bit of a struggle to get on the doll. I could see a child having some difficulty. However once accomplished, the result is a lovely outfit.
The white tank has a very pretty grey, almost French-looking, floral/topiary type design screenprinted on it; with the American Girl logo stitched onto the bottom-left side. The shirt does not come apart all the way down the back, so the shirt has to be put on over the head or feet which adds to the difficulty in dressing. The shirt velcros with the old-style heavy velcro which can tend to snag clothing or hair.
The black tights are a thick stretchy fabric; almost patterned like black denim. They remind me somewhat of the tights to the old Aspri ski outfit. The tights are VERY tight, and I had difficulty getting them over the feet and pulled up the legs evenly.
The shrug top is a pretty southwestern black, yellow, pink, and red geometic pattern. The fabric is a very thin knit; not what you think of for sweater material; however I like it this way. The fabric is very soft and easy to pull over the arms. The only negative is the finishing of the fabric is poor. My shrug has at least two spots where the threads are coming out in the middle or ends of the fabric in unsightly places; not finished properly. Im afraid to cut them in case the shrug would unravel. I can see this fabric getting pulled very easily.
The sandals are a cute but sort of generic brown faux leather. I don't believe I have seen sandals that velcro in the back, but these have a small strip of velcro to hold them closed. The sandals were difficult to fit on Saige's feet. The vinyl needed a bit of stretching.
Overall though, I adore this outfit. I will be exchanging mine for one with better finishing; but it is probably one of my favorite AG outfits despite some of the issues.
