I purchased Saige's dog at AGP Dallas on 1/1/13. He is fully plush, with no wire or internal posing mechanism. His collar/leash is one piece of light blue grosgrain ribbon, and is not removeable, as it is sewn into the seam on the back of his neck. He has brown eyes and a black velvet-covered plastic nose. His black and white fur is very soft. He seems to have the opposite problem from McKenna's dog - Cooper would sit and not stand, Sam prefers to stand and not sit. However, by looping a clear elastic band over the left front and back feet, and another over the right front and back feet, I was able to replicate the catalog "pose". His tail is long and white on the tip. I find his coloring to be surprisingly authentic.
Overall, I think he's adorable! Grade: A

I love the AG animals for the most part. When I get a doll, if she has an animal, I always buy it. I picked this guy up yesterday at the Atlanta store! As far as adorable, he gets an "A++". His plush fur is of good quality and he is VERY soft. I was disappointed that he is literally just plush. He is not very firm in the legs so he does topple over quite easily. He comes with a VERY simple ribbon as his leash, I was quite dismayed AG chose such a very lame material for this. They could have made it of a better, sturdier material. I am not thrilled his leash is sewn to his head, too...you won't be removing this without cutting it! Granted, Saige walks Rembrandt and Sam a lot in the book, but I would like to have the leash be removeable! Confusing is he is referred to simply as "Saige's Dog" on the AG box, not Sam or Rembrandt. In the AG catalog I noticed they refer to him as Rembrandt, which as far as I've read in her first book is her grandmother's dog. Saige's dog is Sam. So, without posting spoiler alerts, I must need to read farther into her books! Overall, with a $24 price tag, I would rate him about a "C" based on the quality/price comparison. He could easily be replaced with a dog of similar size and coloring that is NON AG for FAR less. Unless you are mostly an AG purist, like I am. I sit here still shaking my head thinking, "I can't believe you paid $24 for a tiny stuffed dog." SMH Attachments:

As soon as I saw this little dog I knew I needed him, even thought I don't collect for moderns/GOTY. As you can see from my picture, he's pretty much the mini-me of my Australian Shephard, coloring and everything. He's so soft and a really nice size, totally worth the price!

I gave Saige's dog freckles to make him look like our dog. Now he does!

I have quite a few AG dogs, but I think this one is my favorite. He's sturdy and cuddly and very soft. This is probably the first AG pet that I bought directly, for full price, and felt like he was worth it. I'd give him an A!

Sam is an adorable dog! He's the first pet for a character I have. He's so soft! I added the pics I took of his eyes and his sewn on collar. I definitely recommend him!🥰
